Abstract: Adolescence is characterized by profound changes, with body’s intense growth and development. These changes lead anincrease in the need of energy and nutrients. However, when teenagers exercise regularly, a greater degree of care is requiredin order to provide all their needs. In order to understand the eating profile of teenager athletes, 13 female adolescents agedfrom 13 to 17 were assessed. An eating anamnesis with the purpose of knowing the eating and social history was carried out.To establish the teenagers’ average food intake, 24-hour record and 3-day record were used. Results obtained from Virtual NutriProgram showed that only 63,19% of RDA recommendation were intaken by teenagers (1398,63 Kcal/day). Nutrientsdistribution were: 50.35% carbohydrates, 17.26% proteins, and 32.39% fat. Taking into account all vitamins and mineralsanalysed, only thiamine’s intake was in accordance with RDA recommendation. Thus, results show the need of anindividualized orientation of teenager athletes in order to adapt their eating habits and improve their performance.

Abstract: Excess weight is associated with various factors, including socioeconomic level. The objective of this study was to evaluate the relationship between overweight and obesity and socioeconomic level in children aged 6.0-7.9 years from Maringá, Paraná. Body mass index (BMI) was used for the assessment of nutritional status. Family socioeconomic status was classified based on the proposal of the Brazilian Association of Research Companies (ABEP), and the originally proposed classes were regrouped into high (A1, A2, and B1), medium (B2, C1, and C2) and low (D and E) socioeconomic level. The data were analyzed statistically with the SPSS 13.0 program using nonparametric tests and odds ratios with a 95% confidence interval (CI). A total of 1,634 children from 24 public and private schools (mean age: 7.1 ± 0.5 years, 50.8% girls) were studied. No significant difference in BMI was observed between boys and girls with overweight and obesity. The prevalence of excess weight (overweight + obesity) was 22.3% and 21.9% among boys and girls, respectively. There was no significant association between excess weight and gender. However, children of high socioeconomic level had a 28% higher chance of excess weight than those of low level. In conclusion, in this study both boys and girls were equally affected by excess weight, with a higher prevalence among boys. Children from families of lower socioeconomic levels presented a lower chance of excess weight.

Abstract: The objective of the research was to investigate the properties of pectin derived from mesocarp of nutmeg (Mysristica fragrans Houtt) and edible film made from the pectin and added tapioca. Pectin was extracted from mesocarp of nutmeg using 0.5% of EDTA at pH 1.5-2, and temperature at 90°C for 1 hour. The first group of edible film was prepared using 1% (w/v) of pectin, 1.6% CaCl2, 1% glycerol and various concentration of tapioca (0-2%, w/v). Second group of edible film was prepared using 1% of pectin, 1.6 % CaCl2, 1% glycerol and 2% tapioca and various concentration of palmitic acid (0-0,08 w/v). Physical, mechanical and barrier properties of the films were examined and its capability to reduce weight loss of small pieces of apples during storage was also measured. The result showed that yield of isolated pectin was 20.73% (w/w) having methoxyl content 11.43%, and polygalacturonic acid of 79.47%. Proximate analysis showed that protein, ash and water content in the isolated pectin were 7.86, 3.03 and 7.60%, respectively. Characteristics of first group of film showed that the higher concentration of tapioca added resulted in the higher of tensile strength and thickness. Data of the second groups of films showed that addition of palmitic acid up to 0,08% has no effects on tensile strength, thickness, elongation and water vapour transmission rate (WVTR) of films. Small piece of apples coated or wrapped with edible film (1% pectin – 1,6% CaCl2-2% tapioca-1% glycerol and 0.04% palmitic acid) had lower weight loss and better colour than those of control during storage).

Abstract: The chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma are chronic airway diseases that cause considerable physical, emotional and social restrictions. The life quality of patients who suffer from these diseases, is more affected by dyspnea then by other symptoms. That way is possible to correlate the impact of dyspnea on their life quality. The Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program (PRP) helps to improve the physical fitness and quality of life. This paper presents a study of the life quality and the dyspnea intensity in chronic lung disease patients. The research has participation of fourteen patients, distributed as seven suffering from COPD and the other seven suffering from asthma, for both gender and with an age average of 74.2 ± 8.9. The patients answer the following questionnaires: Baseline Dyspnea Index (BDI), Medical Research Council (MRC) Dyspnea Scale, Airways Questionnaire 20 (AQ20) and the Brazilian version of the Short-Form (SF-36) life quality questionnaire. From the present study, it was concluded that asthma patients have a less impaired life quality, since the dyspnea intensity is lesser, compared to the one with COPD.

Abstract: A study was carried out to compare and evaluate the percentage of reconstitution media (tap water, hot water, 5% NaCl and 5% Ca(OH)2) uptake of stored dried control, irradiated (1 kGy) and heat treated (50 °C) spotted spanish mackerel Scomberomorus guttatus at room temperature for 1, 4 and 24 dipping hours upto 180 days of storage period after each 30 days of intervals. Maximum media uptake found in 5% Ca(OH)2followed by 5% NaCl, hot water and tap water in all samples. The highest (121.81%) and lowest (4.07%) percentage of media uptake observed in Ca(OH)2 and tap water respectively from the irradiated fish sample. This study also reveals that percentage of media uptake depends on reconstitution medias and dipping hours significantly but not with the various samples.

Abstract: Pyometra is one of the most common reproductive disorder characterized as fluid accumulation mainly pus and Gram-negative bacteria isolated from uterus in bitches. Impaired function of vasopressin is found in the disease. The impact of the circulating endotoxin concentration on vasopressin involved water regulation is still unclear. To document the effect of endotoxin on vasopressin-involved water regulation in dogs with pyometra, blood samples were collected for examination of circulating endotoxin concentration, osmolarity values, vasopressin concentrations, blood urea nitrogen (BUN), and creatinine. The results indicated that the concentration change of endotoxin was contrary to BUN and creatinine in dogs with pyometra. The trends of concentrations change of BUN and creatinine were similar with osmolarity and vasopressin. Pyometric dogs with high level of circulating endotoxin had significantly lower (P<0.05) plasma osmolarity and vasopressin concentration than those which had low levels of serum endotoxin. Plasma osmolarity was positive correlated with both BUN and creatinine concentrations (rP=0.55 and 0.53, respectively; P<0.01). Likewise, the vasopressin concentration showed good correlation with serum creatinine value (rP=0.73; P<0.05). Pyometric dogs with high levels of BUN (> 20 mg/dL) and creatinine (> 1.5 mg/dL) also had plasma vasopressin significantly higher (P<0.05) than those with low levels of BUN and creatinine and control dogs. The overall results suggested that elevated vasopressin was not mainly associated with the circulating endotoxin concentration and some other factors may collaborate with endotoxin causing impaired function of vasopressin.

Abstract: Cloud Computing is the delivery of Computing services over the Internet. The Cloud Data services stores Data in the cloud and shares across multiple users, who can easily modify the shared data as a group. To ensure the shared data integrity, users in the group need signatures on all data blocks .Due to Data modifications done by different users in the group, it is essential that the shared data blocks are to be signed by different users. Once a user is revoked from the group for security reasons, the existing user must be re-signed. This system proposes a public auditing procedure for the integrity of shared data which is performed by a third party auditor, with valuable user revocation. Instead of downloading and ReSigning the shared blocks by the existing user, we allow the cloud to Re-sign blocks by digital signature during user revocation. Also, our process supports batch auditing and maintain the data in the form of versions. Hence it improves the efficiency of user revocation, maintain the Data modifications history and the compatibility to retrieve the earlier versions. Also Cloud computing is completely about productivity, economy, and corporate agility. But there raises a question how we can commercially attain those benefits if their cloud management solution becomes inefficient, incomplete, and inflexible. Even though there are many aspects in cloud environment.

Abstract: Inelastic neutron scattering measurements demonstrate that the magnetic interactions in antiferromagnetic LaFeAsO are two-dimensional. Spin wave velocities within the Fe layer and the magnitude of the spin gap are similar to the \textit{A}Fe$_2$As$_2$ based materials. However, the ratio of interlayer and intralayer exchange is found to be less than $\sim 10^{-4}$ in LaFeAsO, very similar to the cuprates, and $\sim$ 100 times smaller than that found in \textit{A}Fe$_2$As$_2$ compounds. The results suggest that the effective dimensionality of the magnetic system is highly variable in the parent compounds of the iron arsenides and weak 3-D interactions may limit the maximum attainable superconducting $T_{c}$.
