Abstract: Analisaremos neste trabalho algumas modalidades do processo de forma o em servi o na área de Língua Portuguesa oferecidas aos professores das séries iniciais de uma rede estadual de ensino, a fim de apreender como ocorre a “transposi o didática” do saber requerido quanto ao ensino de língua escrita e estabelecer em que medida estes momentos de forma o auxiliam o professor em sua tarefa de transpor este saber na sala de aula. In this paper we shall analyze some kinds of Portuguese language inservice training offered to initial classes teacher's from a public state school network in order to elucidate how occurs the didactics transposition of required knowledge in relation to the written language teaching. Our aim is also to establish the influence this formation moments have in helping the teacher to accomplish their task of transferring that knowledge to his/her students in the classroom. Abstract: O presente artigo questiona os pressupostos com os quais a escola brasileira trabalha o conceito de leitura, que imp e ao aluno a modalidade escrita como sendo a única, ou mais relevante, forma de representa o para composi o de mensagens impressas. A leitura do mundo, na concep o da escola atual, faz-se através da leitura do código escrito. Tal questionamento é feito através da teoria da semiótica social (Kress e van Leeuwen, 1996). De acordo com essa teoria, textos s o construtos multi-modais; dos quais a escrita é apenas um dos modos de representa o da mensagem. Estes, por sua vez, s o culturalmente determinados e constantemente redefinidos dentro dos grupos sociais nos quais significam. Uma análise de impressos coletados em um ambiente de trabalho é apresentada para demonstrar a multimodalidade das formas de representa o, que deve ser considerada quando do ensino da leitura da palavra, para uma leitura mais significativa do mundo. This paper questions today’s Brazilian schools’ theoretical approach to reading, which imposes to pupils reading the written code as the only relevant form of representation in texts. Reading the world, according to the schools’ conception, happens as reading the written code does. The social semiotics theory (Kress and van Leeuwen, 1996) is used in the article to argue against it. According to this theory, texts are multi-modal constructs; and forms of representation are culturally determined and constantly re-defined within the social groups where they have meaning. An analysis of printed materials collected inside a workplace is presented to show the multimodality of forms of representation defended by the theory in case. Multimodality has to be considered when teaching reading the words that leads to reading the world. Keywords Leitura --- Semiótica social --- Reading --- Social semiotics

Abstract: O trabalho identifica três características que as Bibliotecas Digitais e o Ensino a Distancia têm em comum: uma proposta que rompe com a concep o de “espa o”, a suposta autonomia para aprendizagem e uma grande divergência conceitual em rela o aos termos. A discuss o central objetiva defender a inclus o de um profissional da informa o na equipe multidisciplinar de Ensino a Distancia. Este profissional, geralmente com forma o na área de Biblioteconomia exercerá o mesmo papel que o bibliotecário de referência exerce no ensino tradicional e poderá ser chamado de cibertecário. O estudo também aborda a quest o da autonomia na aprendizagem em ambientes virtuais e sua interferência na implanta o de bibliotecas nos projetos de EAD. As quest es éticas de informa o s o comentadas relacionando-se os servi os disponibilizados pelas bibliotecas tradicionais e Bibliotecas Digitais. The paper identifies three characteristics that Digital Libraries and Distance Learning have in common: a proposal that breaches with the conception of “physical place”, the supposed autonomy for learning and a great conceptual divergence in relation to terminology. The main objective is to defend the inclusion of a professional of information in the multidisciplinary team of Distance Learning. This professional, usually with a degree in Information Science will exert the same role the reference librarian exerts in traditional education and could be named as cyberlibrarian. The study also approaches the question of the autonomy in learning in virtual environments and its interference in the implantation of libraries in the Distance Learning projects. The ethical questions of information are commented listing the services offed by traditional and digital libraries. Abstract: O presente artigo tem como objetivo discutir a constitui o da língua de sinais como mediadora para a compreens o do português escrito para leitores surdos n o alfabetizados. Procuramos, neste trabalho, abordar a notícia, como unidade de texto que se constitui através de determinadas rela es como acontecimento da cidade. Enquanto projeto de busca de significado, a leitura de jornais em língua de sinais foi geradora de novas experiências para os leitores surdos, através da apropria o e transforma o de significados das notícias impressas, o leitor surdo se constitui autor e produtor de seu próprio texto. This article aims to discuss how sign language mediates the understanding of written Portuguese for deaf non-literate readers. In this paper, we discuss news matter as text unit, constituted by means of certain relationships between the deaf reader and events occurring in the environment. As a project which intends to seek meaning, reading the paper in sign language generated new experience for deaf readers, though the appropriation and transformation of meaning of printed news, deaf readers can become authors and producers of their own texts. Abstract: We give an application of our extender based Radin forcing to cardinal arithmetic. Using a preparation forcing and interleaving of Cohen and Levy forcings in the normal Radin sequence we get a model with a power function having a fixed finite gap on all cardinals.

Abstract: We define extender sequences, generelizing measure sequences from Radin Forcing. Using the extender sequences we combine Gitik-Magidor forcing for adding many Prikry sequences with Radin forcing. This forcing satisfies Prikry like condition, destroys no cardinals, and has a kind of properness. Depending on the large cardinal we start with, this forcing can blow the power of a cardinal together with changing its' cofinality to a prescribe value. If this prescribed value is the cardinal itself then it remains regular and even can remain measurable.

Abstract: We present a modification to the Prikry on Extenders forcing notion allowing the blow up of the power set of a large cardinal, change its cofinality to omega without adding bounded subsets, working directly from arbitrary extender (e.g., n-huge extender). Using this forcing, starting from a superstrong cardinal, we construct a model in which the added Prikry sequences are a scale in the normal Prikry sequence.

Abstract: Several ways to accelerate the solution of 2D/3D linear min-max problems in $n$ constraints are discussed. We also present an algorithm for solving such problems in the 2D case, which is superior to CGAL's linear programming solver, both in performance and in stability.
