Abstract: the hydrothermal activity in the nrv generates alteration characterized by mineral associations depending on a number of physic-chemical factors of the hydrothermal system. petrography of unaltered rocks was used to establish the mineral assemblage prior to rock-fluid interaction. xrd was used in altered rocks, where it was not possible to recognize the alteration products. the observed mineral assemblages indicate advanced and intermediate argillic alterations, this and the observation of very low modal proportion of sulphates, sulphides and native sulphur in some areas could point to a low sulphidation zone. however, the proximity to the volcano and the presence of acid thermal waters and steam pose an apparent contradiction with an expected high sulphidation zone which is explained by climatic conditions, where excess water has dissolved and leached sulfides, sulphur and sulphates close to the volcano. fault zones serve as conducts for fluid transport and have acid-sulphate mineral associations produced by atmospheric oxidation at the water table in a steam-heated environment of h2s released by deeper, boiling fluids or by the disproportionation of magmatic so2 to h2s and h2so4 during condensation of magmatic vapor plume at intermedia depths in magmatic hydrothermal environment in andesitic volcanic terrain characteristic of high sulphidation zones.
Incentives-Based Mechanism for Efficient Demand Response Programs

Computer Science , 2014,
Abstract: In this work we investigate the inefficiency of the electricity system with strategic agents. Specifically, we prove that without a proper control the total demand of an inefficient system is at most twice the total demand of the optimal outcome. We propose an incentives scheme that promotes optimal outcomes in the inefficient electricity market. The economic incentives can be seen as an indirect revelation mechanism that allocates resources using a one-dimensional message space per resource to be allocated. The mechanism does not request private information from users and is valid for any concave customer's valuation function. We propose a distributed implementation of the mechanism using population games and evaluate the performance of four popular dynamics methods in terms of the cost to implement the mechanism. We find that the achievement of efficiency in strategic environments might be achieved at a cost, which is dependent on both the users' preferences and the dynamic evolution of the system. Some simulation results illustrate the ideas presented throughout the paper.

Abstract: this paper presents the reproductive condition and feeding spectrum of four batoid species caught as bycatch by artisanal fishermen in two sectors of the colombian caribbean sea between august 2005 and september 2006. specimens were evaluated from a total of 570 hauls done off salguero beach and 149 off don jaca, with sampling periods of 12 to 26 days per month. the total and relative abundance of the batoids caught were determined, as were the sexual proportion and representativity of each sexual maturity stage. specimens sampled were: 176 narcine bancroftii (127 females, 49 males); 167 rhinobatos percellens (83 females, 84 males); 237 urotrygon venezuelae (126 females, 111 males), and 119 dasyatis guttata (58 females, 61 males). although specimens from all stages of maturity were caught, the immature (i) and mature (iii) stages were dominant. based on the sexual proportion obtained, no marked spatial-temporal segregation was observed. the overall diet consisted of crustaceans, annelids, and teleosts, with unique food preferences that allow the sampled species to avoid interspecific competition.

Abstract: the reactivation of the nevado del huila volcano in 2007 and subsequent activity, led to the formation of large cracks at the top, small emissions of ash and continuous emissions of mud in october-november 2008. there were also major lahars, notably those generated on april 18 2007 and on november 20 2008 in where an excess of 10 and 77 million m3 of water respectively, was repported in betania reservoir (which was substantially higher than the water that could be generated by the fusion of ice-snow due to the activity). magmatic episode led to the extrusion of coalescent domes in the sw flank of pico central in 2007 and 2008. analysis of emitted ash during the eruptive episodes are characterized by varying amounts of hydrothermal mineral such as quartz, silica, feldspar, pyrite, alunite, anhydrite, gypsum, chlorite, muscovite, smectite, kaolinite and ilmenite, while the juvenile material is few or absent. these facts and the unusual volume of water involved in the generation of lahars indicate that, except for the domes, the material emitted by the volcano nevado del huila are associated to phreatic activity due to the interaction of fluids and magmatic gases with water from shallow aquifers and possibly with a hydrothermal reservoir beneath the volcano. the results of the analysis of ash as well as sediment, water and precipitates taken from the páez river support this hypothesis.
Un entorno para la representación de aspectos en esquemas preconceptuales

Abstract: since the mid-nineties, there has been a trend for identifying aspects from the earliest stages of software development lifecycle. the standard case (computer-aided software engineering) tools are used to represent aspects in uml (unified modeling language) diagrams. however, the analyst makes this task by interpreting the domain in a subjective way, with no validation from stakeholders. for this reason, in this paper we present an emf-based environment for representing aspects in pre-conceptual schemas, and then translating them into class and sequence diagrams. we exemplify the use of such environment with a case study.
Generación automática del diagrama entidad-relación y su representación en SQL desde un lenguaje controlado (UN-LENCEP)

Abstract: entity-relationship diagram (erd) is one of the used in modelling the domain information. several proposals have emerged for speeding up and improving the software development process by either automatically or semi-automatically obtain the erd. natural language, controlled languages, and intermediate representations have been used in such a task. the stakeholders (people with some concern in application development), when untrained, are incapable to understand several of such representations. as a consequence, stakeholder active participation in software development is highly restricted. trying to solve these problems, a set of heuristic rules for automatically obtaining erd and its sql-based equivalence is proposed in this paper. the starting point is un-lencep, a controlled language already used for generating other artefacts belonging to software application development.

We present a case of a 14 years old woman diagnosed in the San Juan de Dios hospital at Vélez, Colombia with a product suffering congenital diaphragmatic hernia has an incidence of one in 2 000 pregnancies, we review the literature of this pathology.

MedUNAB , 2011,
