Acevedo Rodríguez,Carlos;
Gaceta Laboral , 2011,
Abstract: based on the observation that chilean society, in a context of high economic growth, is polarized in terms of job insecurity and divided with respect to some elements that define conformity with the political regime and the economic system, two questions arise. the first questions the explanatory capacity of an insecure worker to give or not give legitimacy to the democratic, economic regime. the second questions the degree to which this labor polarization brings us closer to a potential conflict. to answer such questions, a theoretical overlap was constructed that accounts for the theoretical conditions, necessary but not sufficient, for the advent of potential conflict, key for social polarization. a survey was constructed and applied in the city of iquique, chile (a city that has grown extensively in recent decades). conclusions are that, although insecure workers are more discontented than secure workers, instead of promoting conditions for conflict, job insecurity promotes social atomization.

Precarización laboral y legitimación del modelo económico y político: Iquique-Chile, como caso de estudio Job Insecurity and Legitimation of the Political- Economic Model: Case Study: Iquique, Chile
Carlos Acevedo Rodríguez
Gaceta Laboral , 2011,
Based on the observation that Chilean society, in a context of high economic growth, is polarized in terms of job insecurity and divided with respect to some elements that define conformity with the political regime and the economic system, two questions arise.
