Abstract: The companies when forming cooperation agree- ments develop innovation measures and new organizational forms. Through the alliances with a third partner (UT, joint-ventures, agreements with suppliers, commercial agreements) mechanisms pro- pellers of the innovation can be articulated in order to be more critic to compete the companies of social economy (EES). The objective of this study is to understand the capacities generated by the innovation used for collaborative processes. The empiric mark of the work has as purpose to study the cooperation processes taken by the EES of the Region of Murcia, with the purpose of knowing its arguments in the formation of agreements, to identify the variables that affect to its development, and to know the decisive factors that impel the EES, to the revitalization of cooperation processes and innovation.

Abstract:

The generation of industrial residues is unavoidable, but these materials may be recovered, redirecting them toward new production processes, rather than allocating them to the stream of discards. The aim of this paper is to study the feasibility of utilization of metallurgical wastes as raw material for tiles in the ceramic industry, using the residual materials as aggregates in clay based ceramics. The residues used are: sludge and slag from several metallurgical processes, Ruthner dust and foundry sand. Samples were obtained from mixtures of clay and each waste in various percentages, which were then heat treated. The pieces obtained were characterized using several techniques, with the aim of determining the properties of these materials in relation to the commercial requirements. A high feasibility of reuse of most of these wastes as raw material in the production of ceramic bodies has been established.

We think that the balance sheet updating of 1996, adjusted nearly exclusively to the revaluation of the material fixed assets, means, from an accounting point of view, a partial solution to the inflation problem. To give credit to such a hypothesis, we choose the main balance sheet items which, being affected equally by price variations, stay away from their scope –intangible fixed assets, stocks, securities, reversion Fund, and we analyze them having as an aim to determine whether it is justifiable or not, from an economical point of view, the rectification of their values. We can find reasoning behind all of them; although we find out likewise that the solution to inflation effects, in particular certain cases, in the future they will probably have to undergo a deep revision of the criteria in the valuation that they adopt nowadays.

Abstract: the study was carried out with two lulo, solanum quitoense, accessions, namely nm, with spines (ce), botanical variety septentrionale (adapted to understory) and sv80, spineless (se), botanical variety quitoense (selected for tolerance to certain sunlight adaptation). population ce exhibited higher contents of total protein and rubisco and pep carboxilase activity than population se. chlorophyll a, b, total and a/b levels were higher in the vegetative phase (v) in comparison with those obtained in the productive period (p: 252 days after transplanting); but, in the stage p a greater chlorophyll a and total concentration was noted in ecotype se than in genotype ce at the middle and top canopy strata without significant differences between genotypes in the bottom canopy strata. population ce exhibited greater chlorophyll b than ecotype se genotype during the v stage. during the p stage, there was differential content between strata at the population ce, with higher profiles in the bottom strata, in contrast with the accession se in which no differences were detected between canopy strata. this also was true for the chlorophyll ratio a/b. in the v period both genotypes presented high photosynthesis values (f), but at the beginning of the r stage, f decayed significantly for both ecotypes without differences between strata; but at the end of this period the botanical varieties septentrionale and quitoense exhibited photosynthetic activity at the top and middle canopy strata while the bottom canopy was only respiring. for transpiration there was a declining tendency throughout phase v and at the beginning of stage r, without differences among strata in the material ce, but in the genotype se a bigger t was expressed in the middle and bottom strata. during the phase r, an increase in t was observed in material ce, with significant differences between the medium stratum and the bottom and top canopy portions; in this phase the material se exhibited maximum values for t in

Abstract: the generalized renewal process (grp) is a class of probabilistic models that handles repair actions according to the reduction they provide on the real age of an equipment/system. grp is an extension of the renewal process and non homogeneous poisson process and it will be used to evaluate repair actions regarding their efficacy degree. considering that the times between failures follow a weibull distribution, such an evaluation will be accomplished through the estimation of the grp parameter distributions and uncertainty analysis on the expected number of failures through monte carlo simulation. due to paucity of failure data, the probabilistic inference procedure will be executed through the bayesian paradigm which allows for the use of other sources of information, besides the failure data, in the process of estimating the probability distribution on some parameter of interest.

Abstract: background: the prognosis of patients with cardiac trauma depends on the type and magnitude of their lesions, the prehospital support received and the clinical state at admission to the emergency unit. knowledge of these factors allows treatment modifications, leading to an improved prognosis. methods: retrospective cohort study. setting: universidad de antioquia and san vicente de paúl university hospital, medellín, colombia. 204 patients suffering from cardiac trauma were studied between january 1st 1997 and december 31st 1999. primary outcome was either intra- or postoperative death; secondary outcome was postoperative complications. results: 90% were men. 10% of the patients died; the following factors increased the risk of death: lesions by firearm; lesions of two or more cardiac chambers, and two or more cardiac lesions; risk also becames, higher as scores in pi, ptti and pcti indexes increase. logistic regression analysis revealed that intraoperative shock and arrhythmia were factors independently associated with mortality (or: 19.6 and 22.3 respectively). forty five patients (22%) suffered postoperative complications but no association was found between them and the factors studied. conclusion: the use of trauma indexes is important when comparing results obtained at different institutions; the association between mortality and intraoperative shock and/or arrhythmia, should lead to more aggressive reanimation attempts in order to reduce the former.

Abstract: Objective Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic inflammatory disease associated with increased cardiovascular (CV) morbidity and mortality. Since interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) has a direct effect on inflammation, in this study we assessed the potential association of the IFNG functional gene variant rs2430561 with CV disease in patients with RA. Methods One thousand six hundred and thirty-five patients fulfilling the 1987 American College of Rheumatology classification criteria for RA were genotyped for the IFNG (rs2430561, +874T/A) gene polymorphism using TaqMan genotyping assay. Patients were stratified according to the presence of CV events or not. Logistic regression models to explain the presence of CV disease according to the IFNG rs2430561 allele distribution were performed. The potential influence of this variant in the development of subclinical atherosclerosis was also analyzed in a subgroup of patients with no history of CV events to determine carotid artery intima-media thickness (IMT) (n = 286) and presence of carotid plaques. Levels of the cytokine were determined in a subgroup of patients by ELISA. Results Adjusted logistic regression model disclosed that presence of the minor allele A was not associated with increased risk of suffering CV events in RA patients. Besides, differences did not achieve statistical significance regarding carotid IMT and presence of carotid plaques in RA patients carrying IFNG rs2430561 variant allele. Levels of IFN-γ were higher in patients who had suffered CV events compared to patients who did not. Conclusion Our results do not support a role of IFNG rs2430561 (+874T/A) functional gene variant in the development of CV disease in RA patients.
