State Variable Model for Considering the Parasitic Inductor Resistance on the Open Loop Performance of DC to DC Converters  [PDF]
Carlos Alberto Lozano Espinosa
Journal of Computer and Communications (JCC) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/jcc.2014.213006
Abstract:

This paper shows DC and small-signal circuit models for the PWM DC to DC buck, boost and back/ boost converters with the equivalent series resistance of the inductor. The DC voltage transfer function and the efficiency of the converter are derived from the DC model. Small-signal open-loop characteristics are derived from the small-signal model based on a state variable model. A design example proves the performance of the circuit and verification of the model.

Treatises and Ars construendi: Teaching’s Method Theory and Practice of Critical History’s Application Based on Teacher-Student Relationships  [PDF]
Carlos Alberto Cacciavillani, Simona Rinaldi
Open Journal of Social Sciences (JSS) , 2016, DOI: 10.4236/jss.2016.49016
Abstract: The topic of this lecture is the results’ description obtained during many years of teaching. We shall illustrate how students use the same analytical techniques to study two different aspects: 1) Architectural Treatises are first studied separately and then in a comparative way. The purpose of this graphic analysis is to reach a new interpretation of them through the realization of original graphics; 2) The Roman Ars construendi: architectural techniques and buildings’ typologies used by the Romans are investigated in the archaeological sites, where the reading of buildings’ stratification in different historical periods becomes an important teaching tool.
Paracoccidioidoma medular
Betancur,Carlos Alberto; Ruiz,Carlos;
Acta Medica Colombiana , 2010,
Abstract: the case is reported of a 51-year-old patient with a three-month history of paraparesia that had rendered him unable to walk over a period of 45 days. the patient underwent surgical excision of 2 granulomas that had been shown by an mri scan. histopathological study with silver methenamine showed budding blastoconidia, typical of paraccoccidioides brasiliensis infection (acta med colomb 2010; 35: 183-184).
Paracoccidioidoma medular Medullary paraccoccidioidoma
Carlos Alberto Betancur,Carlos Ruiz
Acta Medica Colombiana , 2010,
The case is reported of a 51-year-old patient with a three-month history of paraparesia that had rendered him unable to walk over a period of 45 days. Flexionando o gênero: a subsun??o do feminino no discurso moderno sobre o trabalho culinário
Dória, Carlos Alberto;
Cadernos Pagu , 2012, DOI: 10.1590/S0104-83332012000200009
Abstract: the article seeks to identify any kind of traces (written, gestural) that point to the specificity of a gastronomic female sensitivity, as opposed to a male standard for culinary activities. analyzes the loss of control over culinary by women, in the phase of modern urbanization and industrialization, as it signals the work of auguste escoffier. suggests, finally, the adoption of a culinary ethnography of gestures, similar to what marcel mauss proposes in his essay "the techniques of the body" to retrieve the cultural relevance of females in the culinary.
Structured abstracts: narrative review
Guimar?es, Carlos Alberto;
Acta Cirurgica Brasileira , 2006, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-86502006000400014
Abstract: purpose: to summarize the main findings from research on structured abstracts. methods: a narrative review of all the relevant papers known to the author was conducted. results: authors and readers judged the structured abstracts to be more useful than traditional ones. in 1987 the ad hoc working group for critical appraisal of the medical literature proposed guidelines for informative seven-headings abstracts. in 1990 haynes et al. reconsidered the structured abstract of clinical research and review articles and proposed revised guidelines. nowadays, most abstracts are informative, and the most commonly used structure is imrad (introduction, methods, results and discussion) format. conclusions: there are many variations in the structured-abstract formats prescribed by different journals. but even in recent years, not all abstracts of original articles are structured. more research is needed on a number of questions related to the quality and utility of structured abstracts.
Implica??es políticas da institucionaliza??o da deficiência
Marques, Carlos Alberto;
Educa??o & Sociedade , 1998, DOI: 10.1590/S0101-73301998000100006
Abstract: the social emphasis on the body exposes esthetical and productivity values, that establish the dominant normality patterns. a deficienty body is out of the established models, implying on a preconceptious and segregationist praxis. the assistentialist institution is one of the most efficient society mechanisms relating to the deficient individuals by identifying and keeping them isolated from the social acquaintanceship. hidden by a discourse on the deficient protection and preparation to a possible social reintegration, the deficiency instituonalization protects more the society than its deficients.
Práticas de regula??o das aprendizagens de estagiários do 1o ciclo do ensino básico de Portugal
Ferreira, Carlos Alberto;
Educar em Revista , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S0104-40602010000200013
Abstract: the study of learning regulation practices of primary school trainee teachers allowed us to conclude that, by following the practice of continuous formative assessment, the regulation focuses, especially, on the students' learning difficulties. they use corrective regulation strategies but also interactive regulation ones. the regulation strategies of the student's different working and learning rhythms were more conditioned.
Autoinmunidad y autoinflamación
Ca?as,Carlos Alberto;
Acta Medica Colombiana , 2011,
Abstract: objetive: to show the common aspects and the differences of autoimmune and autoinflammatory conditions, with an emphasis on the mechanisms of innate immunity. methods: a systematic review of the literature was performed, using the medline database, in order to identify original research studies and reviews by the authors of these studies on the topic of innate immunity and its relations with autoimmune and autoinflammatory diseases. "mesh" terms such as autoimmune diseases, autoinflammatory diseases, periodic fever syndromes, toll-like receptor, nod-like receptor, and others were necessary to achieve the objective of the review. sorting, reading, and writing were then carried out. results: 254 abstracts were studied, 44 of which reported the topics related to the objective of this review. it was necessary to perform a complementary review of textbooks of immunology, rheumatology, molecular biology, and cell biology to achieve the objective of this review. conclusion: scientific knowledge of the possible links between the innate and adaptive immune responses has just begun with regard to autoimmune and autoinflammatory conditions (acta med colomb 2011; 36: 78-84).
La preservación de documentos vitales: aproximación a la situación actual en el Distrito Capital
Zapata, Carlos Alberto;
Investigación bibliotecológica , 2010,
Abstract: in 1986, the unesco's records and archives management program (ramp) launched the essential records management program, whose objective is to help guarantee the continuity of administrative functions through the protection of essential records, documents and information in the event of a natural disaster. within the scope of the standard model of internal control and through an analysis of participation in administrative continuity plans, this paper offers a general panorama of the implementation of this program in the bogota administrative district.
