Carlos Alberto de Andrade Coelho Filho
Movimento , 2000,
Abstract: This study belongs to the line of research on the Social Representation of the physical education' actors. It has for analysis object the meaning of the gymnastics professionals' speech in great academies in the City of Rio de Janeiro on its work process and about the representations that accompany it. The theoretical reference comes from the "analysis of the speech", of French background, of nterdiscipline motivation, based on Bakhtin, Foucault, Pêcheux and Maingueneau.

Revista Brasileira de Educa??o Física e Esporte , 2012, DOI: 10.1590/S1807-55092012000100009
Abstract: considering the importance of the knowledge about the aspects in?uencing the adherence to physical exercises programs, this qualitative research, aims to verify the in?uence of the music as a motivation to the gymnastic practice in the project "gymnastic and aesthetic balance". to collect empirical data we used the dynamics of focus groups. fourteen women took part in one of these groups. considering the analysis and interpretation of the collected data, we highlight the following conclusions: 1) the music in the context of the physical exercises practices can lead the practitioner into a state of "flow or creep" favoring certain oblivion of everyday life, generating greater involvement in the activity; 2) the music can put the practice of physical exercises in the dimension of the play, as when a person moves the body in the direction of the musical vibration, he/she "plays with the body"; 3) the use of musical pulses during the practice of physical exercises may help the accuracy and speed of motor gestures, contributing to the motivation and to the income of both, the group and the individual; 4) concerning a subjective state favored by music, it is possible to observe that the songs have the power to retrieve good or bad memories for some people and therefore, within a group, this effect will escape a possible objective control; 5) high music volume was appointed as a demotivating factor for generating tiredness and irritability.

Revista Brasileira de Ciência do Solo , 2006, DOI: 10.1590/S0100-06832006000100003
Abstract: the study aimed at evaluating of calibration models for two kinds of tdr waveguides used with trase system and tdr 100 equipments linked to the cable tester or the multiplexer. disturbed samples of three soils were packed in pvc columns and, after soil saturation, two tdr waveguides of three rods with capacitor and with resistor were inserted into the soil columns. the waveguides were connected to two tdr equipments (trase system and tdr 100), directly to the cable tester or a multiplexer. soil water content data by gravimetry were collected during the drying process from saturation to values close to the lowest limit of water availability. the readings were performed with tdr probes connected to the cable tester and the multiplexer. a mathematical model was fitted to the bulk dielectric constant (e) and water content data (q) and the performance of five models to obtain q as a function of e was evaluated. results showed that there was no significant difference between the tdr trase system capacitor waveguide calibration connected either directly to the water content analyzer or the multiplexer channel. in case of tdr 100 using waveguides with resistor, the calibration has to be performed according to the connection of the waveguide to the water content analyzer or the multiplexer channel. the cubic calibration model performed best, followed by the roth model, which estimated the values of bulk dielectric constant and water content well with a closer to 0.5 for waveguides with capacitor than for waveguides with resistor.

Abstract: this work aims to isolate and to identify the microorganisms associated with robusta coffee (coffea canephora pierre ex froehner) seeds during the storage period. thus, coffee seeds cv. conillon put into different packing bags (transparent plastic, kraft paper and cloth bags) and having different initial moisture contents (25 and 35%, wet basis) were submitted to five storage periods (0, 3, 6, 9 and 12 months), in controlled conditions. after each storage period seeds were evaluated in laboratory by the following tests: blotter test, standard germination test, and moisture content determination. five different fungi genera were isolated and identified as infestation of robusta coffee seeds: fusarium semitectum, colletotrichum spp., alternaria spp., aspergillus spp., and penicillium spp., fusarium semitectum (63-73%) and alternaria spp. (7-11%) were predominant at the beginning of the seed storage. during the storage period was observed great increase of storage fungi (aspergillus spp. and penicillium spp.) incidence in seeds packed in different bags. the seed infestation level showed great variation in relation to the type of packing, during the storage. the increase of fungal incidence was associated to the reduction of coffee seed germination. fusarium semitectum was observed after 12 months in seeds stored in kraft paper and cloth bags. plastic bags associated to higher initial moisture content were more efficient in preserving robusta coffee seeds.

Abstract: for decades thimerosal has been used as a preservative in the candidate vaccine for cutaneous leishmaniasis, which was developed by mayrink et al. the use of thimerosal in humans has been banned due to its mercury content. this study addresses the standardization of phenol as a new candidate vaccine preservative. we have found that the proteolytic activity was abolished when the test was conducted using the candidate vaccine added to merthiolate (mtvac) as well as to phenol (phvac). the montenegro's skin test conversion rates induced by mtvac and by phvac was 68.06% and 85.9%, respectively, and these values were statistically significant (p < 0.05). the proliferative response of peripheral mononuclear blood cells shows that the stimulation index of mice immunized with both candidate vaccines was higher than the one in control animals (p < 0.05). the ability of the candidate vaccines to induce protection in c57bl/10 mice against a challenge with infective leishmania amazonensis promastigotes was tested and the mice immunized with phvac developed smaller lesions than the mice immunized with mtvac. electrophoresis of phenol-preserved antigen revealed a number of proteins, which were better preserved in phvac. these results do in fact encourage the use of phenol for preserving the immunogenic and biochemical properties of the candidate vaccine for cutaneous leishmaniasis.

Abstract: Chronic renal failure is a disease that affects a considerable population percentage that requires the hemodialysis procedure which is a blood filtration. This process is extremely stressful in many cases for the patient, because there is a continuous degradation of vessels and fistulae susceptible to this process due to the alterations of the stress at the blood vessel walls and flow patterns, leading to diseases such as intimal hyperplasia and consequent stenosis. Experimental in vivo researches in this area are very difficult to perform. In this sense computational models become interesting non invasive options to understand what happens to the blood in non viscometric geometries. In this work, we analyse blood flow, through computational modeling, in arteriovenous fistulae used in hemodialysis, using geometries with dimensions close to real ones. Discretization of the governing equations was made through a finite volume technique with the PISO—Pressure Implicit with Splitting of Operators—algorithm, using as a basis the OpenFOAM software platform. Large vessel Newtonian fluid model was used to analyze six possible anastomotic angles (20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45). To analyze the possibility of stenosis formation caused by hyperplasia, results for wall shear stress, oscillatory shear index (OSI), velocity and local circulation fields were obtained, showing that higher angles presented more secondary flows and larger extensions of stagnation regions near the critical areas of the junctions. Moreover, a range around 25was identified to be the most suitable choice for clinical applications, minimizing possibility of diseases.
