Genetics and Molecular Biology , 2006, DOI: 10.1590/S1415-47572006000300021
Abstract: the arachis section is the most important of the nine sections of the genus arachis because it includes the cultivated peanut, arachis hypogaea. the genetic improvement of a. hypogaea using wild relatives is at an early stage of development in spite of their potential as sources of genes, including those for disease and pests resistance, that are not found in the a. hypogaea primary gene pool. section arachis species germplasm has been collected and maintained in gene banks and its use and effective conservation depends on our knowledge of the genetic variability contained in this material. microsatellites are routinely used for the analysis of genetic variability because they are highly polymorphic and codominant. the objective of this study was to evaluate the transferability of microsatellite primers and the assay of genetic variability between and within the germplasm of some species of the arachis section. fourteen microsatellite loci developed for three different species of arachis were analyzed and 11 (78%) were found to be polymorphic. all loci had transferability to all the species analyzed. the polymorphic loci were very informative, with expected heterozygosity per locus ranging from 0.70 to 0.94. in general, the germplasm analyzed showed wide genetic variation.

Abstract: in the present work, formulations to emulsify heavy crude oil in water, at crude oil/water relationship of 70/30, were evaluated. non-ionic and anionic surfactants were used with amines of short chain as co-surfactants. stability, viscosity, conductivity, drop size and size distribution, were evaluated. stable emulsions were obtained with simple and multiple systems which smaller viscosities than the original crude oil, all them with external phases of water and ?extended inversion zone?. the minimum drop size obtained was of 23 μm, with polydisperses distributions, unimodals and bimodals. it was concluded that non-ionic and anionic surfactants mixtures originate a positive synergy, increasing the stability of the crude oil emulsions, and as well as that short chain amines are excellent co-surfactants, because they stabilize micelles formed inside the surfactant-water-crude oil system

Abstract: the crude oil in water emulsions have been used to produce and to transport heavy hydrocarbons. more stability and less viscosity than the emulsions prepared with an only surfactant was obtained for the crude oil in water emulsions prepared with non-ionic and anionic surfactant mixtures, in previous studies. the stability of these emulsions could be increased, adding short chain amines. in this work, the effect of aliphatic short chain amines in the stability and the rheological properties of heavy crude oil in water emulsions, prepared at crude oil/water relationship of 70/30, is discussed. polyethoxylated non-ionic surfactants were used, individually or in a mixture with an anionic surfactant of aryl benzene sulfonate type. aliphatic short chain amines of 2, 4 and 6 atoms of carbon were used as co-surfactants, so much of lineal chain and ramified chain. the results showed that the primary amines of lineal chain produce more stable emulsions and with more viscosity that the emulsions prepared with secondary or tertiary amines of the same number of atoms of carbon. it was concluded that aliphatic short chain amines are excellent co-surfactants, because they stabilize micelles formed inside the system surfactant-water-crude oil.

Abstract: the genus arachis currently comprises 69 described species, some of which have potential and real value as human and animal foods. these arachis species have been collected and maintained in germplasm banks to provide material that can be used as sources of genes in breeding programs and for the selection of new cultivars. one of the principal objectives of germplasm conservation is the evaluation of genetic variability, which is best conducted using molecular markers. we investigated the use of heterologous primers to amplify microsatellite loci that could be used to evaluate genetic variability in arachis germplasm. fifteen microsatellite primer pairs were tested in 76 accessions of 34 species from the nine arachis sections. the data indicated that heterologous primers were very useful in arachis since they had high transferability among the species (91%) and allowed the amplification of very polymorphic putative loci, which allowed both the characterization of most accessions and to make inferences about the mating systems of some species analyzed. our data also revealed that the germplasm analyzed showed high variability, even when represented by few accessions.

Pirineos : Revista de Ecología de Monta?a , 2006,
Abstract: This study try to know the current conservation status of two species: White-backed Woodpecker (Dendrocopos leucotos lilfordi) and Black Woodpecker (Dryocopus martius) in “Quinto Real” Forest, a beechwood of 3.500 hectares at the west edge of the Pyrenees (Navarra). We study if there is any relation between the forest management and the habitat carrying capacity for the two species. The known areas by previous censuses and other potential zones have been visited when breeding, with the objective to confirm their use at the present time. We study which breeding areas have supported forest interventions, which kind of works and how this works can modify the habitat use of these species. Both species show certain sensitivity to logging, more marked for White-backed Woodpecker. This confirms the importance of establishing specific measures of forest management to minimize impacts.

Abstract:This article aims to present the results of a descriptive study which was piloting a questionnaire to determine the perspective of primary and secondary students, on inclusive educational practices in their classrooms. The experience and theory of inclusive education, suggest some characteristics of what is considered inclusive practices in the classroom. Since, and students are key players in the school community, was considered appropriate to consult about which of those practices they perceive them and present in their classes. In addition to describing the perceptions of students, the research work aimed to analyze whether these perceptions differed according to the educational stage. The study was conducted with 279 students of primary and high schools in four public institutions of Costa Rica. It was concluded that the instrument used was adequate, that there is inclusive educational practices in the classrooms and students' perceptions differ from elementary school. The findings are a resource for schools in their self-evaluation process aimed at achieving an inclusive education.
