Reflex?o & A??o , 2009,
Abstract This text addresses the schooling of children and adolescents with serious developmental impairment or with atypical structuring, such as autism or psychosis. That field is vast and complex, the perspective adopted builds on Freud-lacanian psychoanalysis, philosophical-hermeneutics, special education and inclusive processes. Specifically, a reflection is posed on the place the diagnosis has in the construction of (im)possibilitieswithin school based on the analysis of academic and scientific production on the issue for the past 28 years. The proposition is that diagnosis in central in the establishment of educationalpathways for such subjects. Diagnosis is often identified as an act of unveiling and/or decoding. From another perspective, it is defended that the relationship diagnosis-schoolingimplies the construction of a reading, the invention

Diagnosis and education: gestures of reading in Special Education
Carla Karnoppi Vasques,Simone Moschen
Revista Educa??o Especial , 2012,
Abstract: The present work proposes to take the diagnosis as a gesture of reading which includes its production conditions. To do so, it retakes the concept of language operated by psychoanalysis whose model started with Freud’s work – The Interpretation of Dreams (1900). Putting reading into the scene aims to open space so that in the attribution of meaning that all diagnosis addresses it is inscribed the possibility that an unforeseen diagnosis may arise in the school development of those said to be the subjects of special education.

Adjusted Levermore-Pomraning equations for diffusive random systems in slab geometry
Richard Vasques,Nitin K. Yadav
Mathematics , 2014, DOI: 10.1016/j.jqsrt.2014.12.012
Abstract: This paper presents a multiple length-scale asymptotic analysis for transport problems in 1-D diffusive random media. This analysis shows that the Levermore-Pomraning (LP) equations can be adjusted in order to achieve the correct asymptotic behavior. This adjustment appears in the form of a rescaling of the Markov transition functions by a factor $\eta$, which can be chosen in a simple way. Numerical results are given that (i) validate the theoretical predictions; and (ii) show that the adjusted LP equations greatly outperform the standard LP model for this class of transport problems.
Effect of arachidonic acid supplementation and cyclooxygenase/lipoxygenase inhibition on the development of early bovine embryos
Pereira, Rosa Maria;Marques, Carla Cruz;Baptista, Maria da Concei??o;Vasques, Maria Irene;Horta, António Eduardo;
Revista Brasileira de Zootecnia , 2006, DOI: 10.1590/S1516-35982006000200012
Abstract: the effect of arachidonic acid (aa) cascade on bovine embryo development in a granulosa cell co-culture system was studied. arachidonic acid (100 μm) was supplemented from 1-cell to 8-16 cell block stage (first three days of co-culture) and from 1-cell to hatching. specific cyclooxygenase (indomethacin, 28 μm) and lipoxygenase (nordihydroguaiaretic acid - ndga, 28 μm) inhibitors were used from 1-cell to 8-16 cell block stage with aa. embryo development was assessed by cleavage, day 7-day 8 and hatched embryo rates and by measuring growth rates through development stages found in days 7-10 of culture (day 0 = insemination day). embryo quality was scored at day 8. a 6.5-10.4% increase on cleavage rate after aa supplementation was found. this aa supplementation from 1-cell to hatching delayed embryo growth rate beyond day 7 and a reduction on hatching rate was detected. when aa supplementation was restricted to the first three days of co-culture those negative effects were overcome. also, indomethacin and ndga prevented the positive effect of aa and induced a significant reduction on cleavage, respectively. ndga further decreased day 7 embryo rate and quality. results suggest that aa has a two-phase action on bovine embryos, promoting early development and impairing embryo growth from day 7 onwards and hatching rates. both cyclooxygenase and lipoxygenase were found to be important pathways to promote cleavage.
The Nonclassical Diffusion Approximation to the Nonclassical Linear Boltzmann Equation
Richard Vasques
Physics , 2015,
Abstract: We show that, by correctly selecting the probability distribution function $p(s)$ for a particle's distance-to-collision, the nonclassical diffusion equation can be represented exactly by the nonclassical linear Boltzmann equation for an infinite homogeneous medium. This choice of $p(s)$ preserves the $true$ mean-squared free path of the system, which sheds new light on the results obtained in previous work.

Anais Brasileiros de Dermatologia , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S0365-05962010000500020
Abstract: becker's nevus is a hyperpigmented macula that is predominantly located on the anterior trunk or on the scapular region, frequently associated with hypertrichosis. the association of becker's nevus with other cutaneous, musculoskeletal or maxillofacial anomalies has been called becker's nevus syndrome. we report a case of a 16-year-old girl with a hyperpigmented macula which spread from her right anterolateral trunk to the inner part of her right thigh accompanied by ipsilateral mammary hypoplasia. the skin lesion started when the patient was seven years old when it was also noticed ipsilateral mammary hypoplasia. the histological exam confirmed the clinical hypothesis of becker's nevus.

Abstract: this research aims at evaluating the risk analysis process in information technology and communication (ict) outsourcing conducted by organizations of the private sector. the research is characterized by being a descriptive, quantitative and transversal type study, which was used the survey method. data were collected through questionnaire, the sample is not random and we used a convenience sampling process. the research made contributions to understanding the risk analysis process in ict services outsourcing, and identified statistically significant relationships between risk analysis, organization's size and its industry, and between risk analysis and diversity of outsourced services.
Comiss?o Rondon, doen?as e política: "Regi?o do Madeira: Santo Ant?nio", de Joaquim Augusto Tanajura - uma outra vis?o do Alto Madeira em 1911
Vital, André Vasques;
História, Ciências, Saúde-Manguinhos , 2011, DOI: 10.1590/S0104-59702011000200013
Abstract: physician joaquim augusto tanajura (1878-1941), head of health services for the rondon commission from 1909 to 1912, wrote a paper about the first scientific journeys sponsored by the oswaldo cruz institute. entitled "regi?o do madeira: santo ant?nio," it was published in the newspaper jornal do commercio de manáos on june 5, 1911, at a time when rediscovery of brazil's sert?es had just begun and indictments were starting to be lodged about the state of abandonment and disease in which the interior of the country lay. through doctor tanajura's article, the present text analyzes both the engagement of members of the rondon commission in local political dynamics and the era's controversies about construction of the image of the sert?o and its inhabitants.
