Abstract: the aim of this study was to analyse the quality of the classroom environment as an environment which facilitates the sociomoral development of pupils. interpersonal conflicts in the classroom and, particularly, the processes and strategies used to deal with these conflicts were used as indicators of the developmental quality of the context of the classroom. the theoretical principles which framed this study are presented, with a particular emphasis on the concept of school as a just community, presented and operationalised by l. kohlberg (1980). the methodology of the study and the composition of the sample are described. some relevant results of the study are discussed and we demonstrate that these results do not allow us to define the classroom as a sufficiently good environment for the sociomoral development of pupils.

Abstract: this article reports on a study of high school teachers′ representations of their pupils, considering teachers in early and middle phases of their careers. this research was made in the framework of the theory of social representation, and it was conducted by the analysis of the teachers′ speech during semi-structured interviews. various speech contexts were studied (discussing the students in general, a good student, a bad student, an ideal student), and different speech analysis approaches were used (themes, categories, evaluation and structural). the analysis reveals a high degree of stability and internal coherence in the representations under study, strongly based on the academic dedication of the student and on the relationship with the teacher. the power of these dimensions on the teachers′ representations is confirmed by previous research and supports the views that the studens′ images are highly influenced by the more traditional aspects of pedagogy. negative evaluations of students have a strong impact - possibily even on the teachers′ attitude towards the studens, even though positive evaluations were slightly more prevalent. this last result, and also the strong dominance of the more instructional aspects of the teachers′ experience, raise the question whether the pedagogical relationship is a good context for the personal and social development of the students.

Abstract: the purpose of the research is to give us un orview of the pedagogical relationship in the classroom mainly about conflict situations. it was our aim to explore the high teacher's representations about the conflict in the classroom - their attributions about his meaning and origins and the managing skills that they usually mobilize. this article as the following structures: first we present our conceptions of pedagogical relationship. then we describe some empirical researches about this field and it is made a synthesis of the several lines in this area of investigation, referring some studies that explore the importance of the representations toward the explore relationship understanding. in the end we present and comment the data of our research and wich are related to the conflict representation in the classroom.

Abstract: The paper is devoted to the relaxation and integral representation in the space of functions of bounded variation for an integral energy arising from optimal design problems. The presence of a perimeter penalization is also considered in order to avoid non existence of admissible solutions, besides this leads to an interaction in the limit energy. Also more general models have been taken into account.

Abstract: the present study is based on a moral problem, and focus on the issue of consistent moral action. the mobilization of cognitive and affective variables for the understanding of this issue, and the empirical operationalization of consistency, within the frame of the contributions of a developmental and structural approach to morality, constitute central features of this research. in order to gather information a questionnaire was structured and applied to 156 8th and 11th grade boys and girls. the results have confirmed some of the formulated hypotheses, although their interpretation is not straightforward. the relationship between cognition and consistency presented a positive, however weak, result regarding the relationship between the affective variable and consistency, the latter being more reliable. gender also seems to play a role in the consistency variability. the assumptions on the contribution of schooling to consistency, as well as the mediating effect of satisfaction, understood in the relationship between cognition and consistency, have not been confirmed. finally, the integrated analysis of the contribution of predictor variables for consistency showed that all of them, with the exception of schooling, help to explain the variability of consistency, in fact, more than each one of them considered per se.
