Crise e desregula??o do trabalho no Brasil
Cardoso Jr., José Celso;
Tempo Social , 2001, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-20702001000200003
Abstract: this study discusses, from a historical-structural perspective, the recent trajectory (1980-2000) of the transformations of brazilian economy, especially with regard to the implications for the labor market. putting it briefly, there are three aspects of interest in the text. the first is related to the task of establishing logical-historical connections between the crisis in the brazilian economy of the last twenty years (1980-2000) and the process of labor deregulation in the country. the second refers to defining and characterizing each of the two axes that, from our point of view, make up the scenario of labor deregulation in brazil in recent years, as follows: destructuralization and deregulation of the labor market. finally, the third aspect involves suggestions of some points to reflect on in order to build a positive agenda of changes, as a condition to overcome the binomial economic crisis and labor deregulation in brazil.
A amizade como paisagem conceitual e o amigo como personagem conceitual, segundo Deleuze e Guattari
Cardoso Jr., Hélio Rebello;
Kriterion: Revista de Filosofia , 2007, DOI: 10.1590/S0100-512X2007000100003
Abstract: this paper begins with the proposal of a "pedagogy of concept" according to deleuze and guattari. on this basis, i emphasize and explore the assertion that every thought demands relational traces" as their internal condition". among the relational traces defined by this pedagogy of concept, i selected "friend" as a character who distinguishes a given thought. i try, after that, to define, generally what friend and the scene of friendship in plato's, nietzsche's, heidegger's and foucault's philosophies are.
Para que serve uma subjetividade? Foucault, tempo e corpo
Cardoso Jr., Hélio Rebello;
Psicologia: Reflex?o e Crítica , 2005, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-79722005000300008
Abstract: the present article main proposition focuses on the turn made by foucault when he takes into a new account the theme of the subjectivity, above all in the last two volumes of history of the sexuality. henceforth, our attention retraces the two characters of the subjectivity definition as a process or practice, it means, our relationship with the time and the creative or transformative dimension of the body. we argue, then, against the assertion that foucault's last issue would imply the return of the subject or of the man that he had previously denied, that the last foucault is consistent with the style that he had been building throughout his past books.
Acontecimento e história: pensamento de Deleuze e problemas epistemológicos das ciências humanas
Cardoso Jr, Hélio Rebello;
Trans/Form/A??o , 2005, DOI: 10.1590/S0101-31732005000200007
Abstract: p. veyne has developed "événement" (happening) as a concept for the epistemological domain of history. in fact, he came to enlarge its meaning by mixing this concept with the foucaultian notion of "pratique" (practice). we see that this conceptual link would be more clearly bounded if drawn up from the epistemological domain it has been early defined and if argued by deleuze's own concept of "événement" (happening), along with its ontological and ethical ressonances.

Ceticismo de Hume através do Empirismo Transcendental de Deleuze: disjun o inclusiva e sujeito empírico
Hélio Rebello Cardoso Jr
DoisPontos , 2008,
Abstract: This article begins with an internal argument in the philosophy of Gilles Deleuze: every philosophy’s character might be evaluated by the immanence degree it accomplishes. The thought of Hume, a “superior empiricism”, as Deleuze understands it, would maintain and perform immanence. In other words, Humean Empiricism would not surrender to any transcendent. At the same time, being superior, it supposes an Empiricism that is not rooted in the immediately given, as it a “naive empiricism” might suppose. Therefore, the empiricism should embody an immanentist thought that acquires some transcendental competence,so it would be a “transcendental empiricism”, according to Deleuze’s terminology. The complex philosophical formula summarized in that Deleuzean expression will be here taken under the Humean point of view in order to envisage his skepticism as an immanence operator that offers to Empiricism a transcendental dimension. Such approach will be carried out in two steps: a) skepticism and the problem of the “inclusive disjunction” in the field of faculties’ interaction (reason/understanding and practical faculty); b) skepticism and the transcendentalism of the empirical judgments.
Lightning Enhancement in the Amazon Region Due to Urban Activity  [PDF]
Osmar Pinto Jr., Iara Regina Cardoso de Almeida Pinto, Osmar P. Neto
American Journal of Climate Change (AJCC) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/ajcc.2013.24026
Abstract:

Urbanization has an increasing contribution to anthropogenic climate forcing. The impact arises mainly from the Urban Heat Island (UHI) effect and aerosol anthropogenic emissions. An important but not completely understood consequence of this forcing is its effect on local lightning activity. Changes in lightning activity may result in a feedback on the climate system. In this article, it investigates changes in the lightning activity in the city of Manaus, located in the Amazon region of Brazil. It is found that, over the city, the lightning activity is larger than in the regions around it and it has been increasing in the last four decades simultaneously with the increasing of its urban area. Our results suggest that such changes are caused by the UHI effect. The observations reported here are unique and relevant because Manaus is located in the central part of the Amazon rainforest and inside one of the three global lightning chimneys in the world.

Stability properties of periodic traveling waves for the Intermediate Long Wave Equation
Jaime Angulo,Eleomar Cardoso Jr.,Fabio Natali
Mathematics , 2015,
Abstract: In this paper, we determine orbital and linear stability of periodic waves with the mean zero property related to the Intermediate Long Wave equation. Our arguments follow the recent developments in \cite{andrade-pastor}, \cite{natali} and \cite{DK} to deduce the orbital/linear stability of periodic traveling waves.
Benthic Diversity of Sessile Organisms in Rocky Reef Habitats of Coastal Brazil: An Insight into the Implementation of Marine Protected Areas  [PDF]

Natural Resources (NR) , 2018, DOI: 10.4236/nr.2018.912025
Abstract: Marine Protected Areas are increasingly becoming a tool of choice for conservation and management of marine resources and ecosystems. Data on biodiversity are necessary to assist in establishing protected areas for conservation objectives to be met. Toward that effect, we investigated reef biodiversity patterns in three large-scale coastal regions of Brazil. The study areas comprised of an upwelling region, an adjacent high impacted region, and a more distant marine park. We surveyed four reef sites in each study region. Species counts of sessile benthic organisms, substrate relief, and average monthly water temperatures were recorded during the surveys. Benthic organisms were identified to the lowest taxa possible using still photos. Biodiversity was estimated using Shannon’s index on richness of organism taxa. Diversity was highest at the upwelling and high-impacted areas. No substrate relief patterns were found. Temperature readings showed lower average values at the upwelling and high impacted regions. Our results favor the upwelling region for establishment of a Marine Protected Area. Moreover, the similar diversity between the upwelling and the high impacted regions showed evidence of spillover effects from the former into the latter region, further demonstrating the importance of the former region for conservation.
Complexidade & desenvolvimento: abordagem metodológica e panorama da discuss?o propagada pelo Ipea entre 2008 e 2010

Abstract: the decline of more orthodox versions of liberalism in the first decade of this century has provided an opportunity for the reevaluation of state action. in brazil, the recovery of the state's investment capacity and the updates (albeit inadequate updates) to the state's administrative structure have revitalized the fields of planning and development, giving them new, challenging, and more complex goals. but to what extent should the concept of "planning and development" be reconsidered in this new context? the paper explores aspects of the complexity of current events, which themselves raise the need to retrain and reframe meanings and practices of government planning, as well as of the very development that has been planned for the country during this period. we conclude by stating that development is a collective, cumulative, and continuous process of learning and achievements, the dimensions or descriptions of which are grouped together - theoretically and politically - both together and as equivalent levels of strategic importance, because today, finally, it is clear that we are not talking about development.
