STUDY ON THE USE OF DEM TO THE ACHIEVEMENT OF RISK AND HAZARD MAPS
Caius DIDULESCU,Adrian SAVU
Geographia Napocensis , 2011,
Abstract: This article discusses the advantages of using different types of DEM to the achievement of risk and hazard maps. Models are used to study the real physical phenomena, to create a more precise picture of reality, especially for creating a virtual prototype that describes the structure and behavior of natural phenomena in different conditions.

Automation and technologization of the postal services
Caius L?z?rescu
Studia Universitatis Vasile Goldis Arad, Seria Stiinte Economice , 2012,
Abstract: The development of the means of communication, the loss of monopoly over the postal services, liberalization of the services, creation of postal markets, appearance of new operators of postal services and implicitly of the competition, as well as the change of the status of the universal service providers in trading companies, impose modern technological equipping that would ensure the provision of postal services at new standards. For a proper technologization a constant study of the market is imposed in order to trace the strong points and an organization of the network that would allow a fluidity of the operations so that all malfunctions are eliminated. If the postal services arose from the need to communicate, their evolution and the current status of trading company confirm the fact that their maintenance and development also meet the economic need. The postal services provider is obliged to uniformly secure the universal service as well as the other services and the duty to perform economic activities in two different social-economic environments, the rural environment and the urban environment. The means of communication, at first, provided a simple communication service; later their evolution had a whole new purpose, i.e. to provide more complex communication services, and currently, in the internet era and modern technology a possibility to provide service packages arises.

Psoriazisul - O abordare interdisciplinara
Marcu, Mirona Ioana,Solovan, Caius
Romanian Journal of Applied Psychology , 2011,
Abstract: Psoriasis is a chronic disease which affects approximately 2% of the world’s population. Psoriasis covers a wide range of conditions, one of the features of the disease being its unpredictability, with remission and return alternating. In addition to this, mention is made of the visibility of the disease, the chronic nature of the disease and the risk of complications. Thus, psoriasis is a multifaceted immune-inflammatory disease which affects the patient’s quality of life at a physical, psychological, social, sexual and occupational level. In this paper we present an overview concerning the psychological approach in cases of patients suffering from psoriasis.
THE LEGAL PERSONALITY OF THE EUROPEAN UNION - BETWEEN THE MAASTRICHT TREATY AND THE DRAFT TREATY ESTABLISING A CONSTITUTION FOR EUROPE - REALITY AND PPERSPECTIVES
Octavian Gabriel Pascu,Caius Tudor Luminosu
Romanian Journal of European Affairs (RJEA) , 2006,
Abstract: The scope of the present article is to present an overview of the prevailing and accepted opinion on the legal personality of the European Union. The starting point of the presentation is the analysis of the structural differences between the EU and the European Communities. Then followed by the institutional delimitation and the differentiation of these bodies within the European Construct with regard to actual European Law. After a brief presentation of the legal nature of the EU and its lack of legal personality and legal capacity, a scrutiny of the international law requirements to international law subjectivity of the EU is performed with the same result, but this time on international law level, denying the state character of the Union. This also represents the prevailing opinion in German literature, denying the existence of a legal personality of the EU on a public and international law level with respect to the actual European law. Further, we undertake an analysis on the international law effects of the lacking legal capacity of the Union. This is followed by a short exposition of the effects on European institutions of the awarding of legal personality to the EU. In the final part of the present article the focus is on the new European Constitution, still to be adopted by the member states, which expressly provides the fact that the Union is granted the legal personality and its implication on the present situation in the literature.
Single Camera Calibration in 3D Vision
Caius SULIMAN,Dan PUIU,Florin MOLDOVEANU
Annals of Dunarea de Jos , 2009,
Abstract: Camera calibration is a necessary step in 3D vision in order to extract metric information from 2D images. A camera is considered to be calibrated when the parameters of the camera are known (i.e. principal distance, lens distorsion, focal length etc.). In this paper we deal with a single camera calibration method and with the help of this method we try to find the intrinsic and extrinsic camera parameters. The method was implemented with succes in the programming and simulation environment Matlab.
Mobile Robot Position Estimation Using the Kalman Filter
Caius Suliman,Cristina Cruceru,Florin Moldoveanu
Scientific Bulletin of the ''Petru Maior" University of T?rgu Mure? , 2009,
Abstract: The Kalman filters have been widely used for mobile robot navigation and system integration. So that it may operate autonomously, a mobile robot must know where it is. Accurate localization is a key prerequisite for successful navigation in large-scale environments, particularly when global models are used, such as maps, drawings, topological descriptions, and CAD models. The objective of this paper is to implement the Kalman filter (KF) and the extended Kalman Filter (EKF) for determining the position of a mobile robot. Based on the results of the study, from the figures can be seen that despite of the errors present in measurements, the filters can perform quite well in estimating, the robot's true position.
