Abstract: the establishment of optimum plot size, in any culture, is one of the ways to increase experimental precision and maximize the information obtained in an experiment. the aim of this study was to determine the optimum size of plots for experiments with radish for the variables mass and root diameter. a test of uniformity was conducted with the planting of radish carried out in lines spaced at 15 cm to 5 cm between plants. the basic unit was defined as a linear segment of three consecutive plants. after 30 days of planting, mass (g) and diameter (mm) of radishes were evaluated. we simulated 35 sizes of plots, estimating mean and coefficient of variation for each size of plot and, using different nonlinear models, we determined the optimum size of plot for assays with radish. it was observed that the methods of modified maximum curvature and targeted linear and quadratic response models estimated different sizes of plot; therefore, in experiments with radish culture, plots with 21 to 63 plants (0.1575 to 0.4745 m2) per plot are recommended.

Abstract: the present research focuses on the emergence of implicit processes - inferential, contextual and multimodal - in the development of referential and interactional practices between non-aphasic and aphasic individuals who participate in the aphasic center. the research corpus was extracted from our data-collection aphasiacervus. we have observed that interactants - non-aphasic and aphasic - seek to construct reference through strategic and emergent actions (hanks, 2008) associated to language structures and to other co-occurring semiotic resources. in doing so, the interactants illustrate in an exemplar way the sociocognitive nature of reference construction not impeded by metalinguistic disorder characteristic of aphasia.

This paper aims to determine the causes of racism and discrimination through a psychosocial perspective, demonstrating the cultural roots of prejudiced manifestations and its origins in the myth of the scapegoat. The objective is, thus, to show our almost complete immersion in the dominant ideology, dealing mainly with the concepts of social imaginary, ideology, hegemony and authority and its historical construction. An anti-authoritarian point of view is placed. Through it, Psychology's challenge in getting rid of its manacles, imposed by the dominant ideology, that hinders it from being a science not involved with the dominant classes.

Abstract: in acid soils, the aluminum is responsible for the low cultures productivity. the objective of this work was to evaluate the brachiaria ruziziensis genetic variability for the aluminum tolerance.10 genotypes of that species were used, grown in vases with 0, 30 and 60 mg/l of aluminum in nutritious solution. a completely randomized design under 10 x 3 factorial, with six replicates. the following variables were evaluated: the green mass production of the aerial part and roots (mvpa and mvr), the dry matter production of the aerial part and roots (mspa and msr), the increment in the growth of the aerial part and of the roots (ipa and ir), expressed by the difference among the final growth and the initial, and the increment in the numbers of tillers (inp). the increase in the aluminum concentrations decreases for the averages of all the characteristics evaluated, excepting ir. the absence of differences of the genotype 8 for six characteristics, except for mvpa, demonstrates to be most promising for subsequent genetic breeding studies for larger productivity of the cultures in acid soils. the results evidenced the existence of genetic variability among the genotypes for the tolerance to the aluminum, being possible to identify more productive materials in the presence of that metal.
