Inducción de la enzima triptófano 2,3 dioxigenasa por glucocorticoides y su papel en la tolerancia materna al feto

Abstract: El mecanismo por el cual la madre no rechaza al feto, sigue siendo una incógnita en la inmunología de la reproducción. Una de las hipótesis planteadas es la inmunosupresión mediada por el catabolismo del triptófano, el cual es un amino ácido sencial para la proliferación de los linfocitos T. Una de las nzimas que cataboliza el triptófano es la triptófano 2,3 ioxigenasa (TDO). La TDO es inducida por los glucocorticoides en el hígado, pero aún no se conoce si estos inducen la producción de la TDO n la interfase materno fetal al interactuar con los receptores resentes en células estromales y NK; En un modelo murino, e observó que la TDO se expresa en la interfase materno etal con un pico que coincide con el de mayor actividad de egradación del triptófano, sugiriendo entonces que esta nzima puede estar involucrada en la tolerancia materna al feto.

Abstract: stromal cells are the most abundant cell population present in decidual tissue; they are involved in key processes during embryo implantation, fetal nutrition and the pregnancy maintenance. described procedures for stromal cells isolation require the use of many monoclonal antibodies due to contamination with another cell types in the decidua; besides, some markers of stromal cells show variability during the days of gestation. in this study, we standardized a procedure for isolation by enzymatic digestion, density gradient and adherence to plastic. murine stromal cells were characterized by exclusion of markers that are expressed in macrophages (f4-80), epithelial cells and trophoblast (cytokeratin-7), yielding a 98% of negative cells for these markers that correspond to stromal cells. this isolation procedure permits to obtain stromal cells with less expensive and high efficiency methods that provide a useful cellular model to study the physiology of gestation in different species.

Abstract: Las células estromales son las células más abundantes presentes en la decidua y juegan un papel muy importante durante la implantación, la nutrición fetal y el mantenimiento del embarazo. Los procedimientos que se han descrito para el aislamiento de células estromales requieren el uso de muchos anticuerpos monoclonales ya que hay contaminación con otros tipos celulares en la decidua y además algunos marcadores características de células estromales, muestran variabilidad en los diferentes días de la gestación. En este estudio se estandarizó un procedimiento de aislamiento por digestión enzimática, gradiente de densidad y adherencia al plástico y se caracterizaron las células estromales murinas por exclusión de marcadores que se expresan en macrófagos (F4-80), células epiteliales y trofoblasto (citoqueratina-7), obteniéndose un 98% de células negativas para estos marcadores que correspondería a las células estromales. Esta técnica de aislamiento permite obtener células estromales con métodos menos costosos y altamente eficientes que facilita el acceso a un modelo celular de gran utilidad en el estudio de la fisiología de la gestación en diferentes especies. LA EVOLUCIóN DE SISTEMAS COMPLEJOS: EL CASO DEL SISTEMA INMUNE EN ANIMALES

Abstract: the immune system in animals is composed by a series of cell and molecular mechanisms that coordinately maintain the physiological and genetic integrity of the organism. traditionally, two classes of immunity have been considered, the innate immunity and the adaptive immunity. the former is ancestral, with limited variability and low discrimination. the latter is highly variable, specific and limited to jawed vertebrates. adaptive immunity is based on antigen receptors that rearrange somatically to generate a nearly unlimited diversity of molecules. likely, this mechanism of somatic recombination arose as a consequence of a horizontal transfer of transposons and transposases from bacterial genomes in the ancestor of jawed vertebrates. the recent discovery in jawless vertebrates and invertebrates of alternative adaptive immune mechanisms, suggests the necessity to consider new elements for the construction of an evolutionary model of the immune system in animals. some of these elements are considered in this assay.

Abstract: studying undernourishment, out the context of poverty, usually doesn't explain the consequences on intellectual development, making necessary to understand the social factors related to poverty confounding this association. social determinants theories studying health inequities are useful to understand this issue. the main purpose of this review is to get a good comprehension of this relationship, researching and selecting authors working in this issue, which allows us to conclude that nutritional state, cognitive and intellectual development of children should be analyzed involving political, community and family variables to develop policies that could transcend individual state.

Abstract: nutritional status and cognitive development are involved in all human dimensions as well as in body development. the main purpose of this review article is to know the relationship between these aspects and create guidelines for children educational programs. objective: to get scientific understanding about relationship between intelligence, feeding and nutrition in children, specifically in scholar age. materials and methods: scientific evidence of update articles and on-line information related to the topic were collected to write the paper. the information was available in academic scientific collections from libraries of universities from medellin. results: scientific evidence reported that children, who meet nutritional requirements but live under undisadvantage environmental conditions, don't can get normal development. these results suggest that in order to analyze the effects of food deprivation on cognitive development, it is necessary to study not only the biological aspects of children, but also the psychological and social determinants. conclusions: scientific research suggests that the risk factors which can impact negatively child's development can be social, family or individual. and the more exposed children to these risks, the worse results for all dimensions of human development.
