Synthesis, Resolution and Absolute Configuration of 2,3-Dihydro-2-Tert-Butyl-3-N-Benzylquinazolin-4-One: A Possible Chiral Auxiliary for Synthesis of β-Amino Cyclohexancarboxylic Acid  [PDF]
Fanny A. Cabrera-Rivera, Jaime Escalante
International Journal of Organic Chemistry (IJOC) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/ijoc.2014.41007
Abstract: 3-Benzyl-2-(tert-butyl)-2,3-dihydroquinazolin-4(1H)-one rac-11 was resolved via the preparation of diastereomers with N-phthalyl-L-alanine chloride and its absolute configuration was determined by X-ray crystallographic analysis. This heterocycle has potential as a substrate chiral in asymmetric induction due to the steric effects of its tert-butyl group.
Cabrera A,Gustavo A;
Revista Facultad Nacional de Salud Pública , 2008,
Abstract: objective: to identify the main features of the theories and theoretical models used in the articles published by the revista de salud pública (public health journal) of the national university of colombia. methods: in february 2005 all the numbers published by the journal from 1999 to 2004 were analyzed. a trained reader registered different variables of interest based on instruments and criteria adapted from previous studies. results: a total amount of six volumes corresponding to 21 numbers of the journal were read, 18 of the periodical publication and 3 special numbers. a total amount of 154 contributions were classified into 66 articles or research summaries (43%), 62 essays, revisions or conferences on specific topics (40%), and 26 on up-to-date subjects or symposia (17%). the main topics were health system and policies (26%), epidemiology (21%) and health management (13%). although 34 of 154 articles (22%) referred to 9 theories and 39 models as theoretical frameworks, only 17 (11%) involve a deep usage of them according to the criteria adopted. conclusions: the articles published in the journal revealed a limited use of theories and models and a lack of rigor in the way the authors structured them from the point of view of subject, methodology and analysis.

Pi?a Cabrera,Leonardo;
Polis (Santiago) , 2010, DOI: 10.4067/S0718-65682010000200015
Abstract: in this article, the author approaches the study of the phenomenon of homelessness from the point of view of its own protagonists, that is, agents who choose to act and are aware of their own actions; a perspective that is almost completely absent, both in the study of the homelessness as well as in our daily interactions with them. to this effect, the paper's design proposes an approach in four complementary directions: an approximation to the meaning given by homeless men and women to their own life experiences; an understanding of the behaviors and interactions that homeless establish in their daily routines; their dialogue with other discourses of marginalization interwoven in the construction of homelessness; and the relationship of homelessness with its context and other wider processes that encompass its development.

Leonardo Pi?a Cabrera
Leonardo Pi?a Cabrera
