Abstract: the objective of this research was to evaluate the influence of 2-tridecanone (2-td) content on three tomato genotypes (tom-556, hi-1 and pi 134417) in the parasitism of eggs of tuta absoluta meyrick, 1917 by trichogramma pretiosum riley, 1879. two experiments were carried out to verify the parasitism in isolated and combined plants. the results in both experiments showed that the percent of parasitism of tom-556 was significantly higher than the hi-1 and pi 134417. a higher percent of parasitism was observed in all strains when the eggs were placed in isolated plants. it is supposed that the presence of genotypes with different concentration of 2-td in the same environment may have influenced the parasitic behavior of t. pretiosum.

Neotropical Entomology , 2001, DOI: 10.1590/S1519-566X2001000200008
Abstract: using the its2 sequences of the ribosomal dna together with some restriction enzymes, a simple and precise molecular key to some brazilian species of trichogramma was created. this key is very easy to make and quick results can be obtained on the identification of this minute parasitoid (0.25 mm). the methodology presented is easily implemented and can be used to detect possible contaminations under laboratory rearings.

Neotropical Entomology , 2001, DOI: 10.1590/S1519-566X2001000300027
Abstract: for the first time in brazil, wolbachia was detected in trichogramma using pcr with the wsp specific primer. a trichogramma atopovirilia oatman & platner population was colected in helicoverpa zea boddie (lepidoptera: noctuidae) eggs at embrapa/sete lagoas. the results showed that the amplification of dna bands, confirms the presence of wolbachia on the analysed population. the presence of this a-proteobacteria will contribute for the correct choice on which population will be used for applied biological control programs against lepidopterous pests.
Molecular Tool for Identification of Closely Related Species of Trichogramma (Hymenoptera: Trichogrammatidae): T. rojasi Nagaraja & Nagarkatti and T. lasallei Pinto

Neotropical Entomology , 2001, DOI: 10.1590/S1519-566X2001000400010
Abstract: the sequence of the its2 (internally transcribed spacer 2) region of the rdna was used to identify two closely related trichogramma species: t. rojasi and t. lasallei, the second species recently reported in brazil. the dna of the samples was extracted using chelex 100. the pcr product was linked to a pgem-t? vector and both were then placed into petri dishes to grow white colonies, which demonstrate the correct ligation between the vector and the dna. from these colonies, 10μl were purified and sequenced using a special kit, and the sequences aligned using the esee 3.0 software. specific primers were efficient to amplify the its2 rdna region of the brazilian trichogramma. the sequence of each species differed in length and in nucleotide position, showing that they are distinct. thus, the results show that this technique is a good tool to identify trichogramma cryptic species, otherwise difficult to identify when using only morphological characters.
Resposta de Trichogramma atopovirilia Oatman & Platner (Hymenoptera: Trichogrammatidae) a diferentes densidades de ovos do hospedeiro natural, Helicoverpa zea (Boddie) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae)

Anais da Sociedade Entomológica do Brasil , 1998, DOI: 10.1590/S0301-80591998000300011
Abstract: laboratory (25oc, 70% ur and photoperiod of 12 hours) studies were conducted to evaluate the response of trichogramma atopovirilia oatman & platner female to the increase of its host [helicoverpa zea (boddie)] egg densities. one, three, five and 10 females received, 15, 30, 60, 90, 120 e 150 eggs, for a period of 24 h. results indicated mutual interference of both parasitoid and host, when three or more females were confined inside the vials in low densities of host eggs resulting in a lower number of parasitized eggs/female. with at least 120 host eggs (minimum of 12 eggs available/female) no mutual interference was observed. quadratic responses were verified to the total number of parasitized eggs with the increase of egg density, with five or more parasitoids/vial. percent parasitism did not increase with the increment in egg density.

Paron, Maria J. F. O.;Cruz, Ivan;Ciociola, Américo I.;
Anais da Sociedade Entomológica do Brasil , 1998, DOI: 10.1590/S0301-80591998000300012
Abstract: this research was conducted to evaluate helicoverpa zea (boddie) (lepidoptera: noctuidae) egg parasitization by trichogramma spp. on three different maize (zea mays l.) genotypes: br 205 (normal yellow endosperm), br 451 (white endosperm, high quality protein maize) and br 400 (sweet yellow endosperm). the genotypes were planted in two ways: all genotypes planted in the same day (1st trial), and with one week interval to equalize the flowering period: first the br 205, followed by br 451 and br 400. on both trials there was no effect of maize genotypes on h. zea egg infestation or parasitism by trichogramma spp. (average of 8.0 in the 1st and 1.8 eggs/ear in the 2nd trial). however, the parasitism varied significantly among cultivars, being 62.4% in br 451, 47.0% in br 205 and 34.1 in br 400.

Azevedo, Américo L.;
Gest?o & Produ??o , 2000, DOI: 10.1590/S0104-530X2000000300003
Abstract: globalisation together with technological advances have dramatically changed the process of value creation at the end of this century. nowadays, more and more companies are being organised as networks of different units and are therefore becoming global businesses covering multiple manufacturing sites consisting of different shop floors, subcontractors and suppliers. the concept of virtual enterprise was born in this environment. the aim of this paper is to present the virtual enterprise as a new organisational paradigm and to explore the tight relationship with the information and communication technologies. our research has shown that traditional enterprise information systems do not suitably cope with some of the new demanding requirements of a distributed and heterogeneous manufacturing environment. in this context, this paper presents a set of requirements that supports this new organisational paradigm.
Ecuación del movimiento de un elemento finito lineal plano elástico dinámico con ocho grados de libertad
Hossne,Américo G;
Ingeniería y Ciencia , 2010,
Abstract: a lineal finite element with constant traverse section, it can adopt any orientation in the plane, and their ends or nodes tie it to the rest of the elements. the kinetic energy (t) and potential (v) of a dynamic elastic element are the basement in the implementation of the hamilton principle for the definition of a finite element. the definition of the kinetic energy and potential is the first step for the preliminary variational formulation to the enunciation for finite elements that it is used to solve, say, the problems of mechanisms that move in the plane using the hamilton equation. the general objective consisted on defining the equation of the movement of a finite lineal dynamic elastic plane element using the equation of hamilton, starting from the lagrangiana (t ? v) obtained with the use of a polynomial of fifth and first degree, with eight degrees of freedom, four in each node that represented the deformations: axial (u(x)), traverse (w(x)), slope ((dw(x)/dx)) and bend ((d2w(x)/dx2)). the deformation due to traverse shearing, insignificant with respect to flexional and axial deformations, the rotational inertia and the frictional forces in the nodes, were underrated with the purpose of producing a friendly element. the specific objectives were to take place: (a) the translational mass matrix [md], (b) the translational gyroscopic matrix [ad], (c) the translational total rigidity matrix [kd], and (d) the deformation vector (s). as a result the movement equation of a finite lineal dynamic elastic plane element was forged on concluded that the equation obtained variationally with the application of the hamilton principle is the state-of-the-art pattern, and that the procedure can be used when it is required to increase the number of the pattern freedom degrees.
