Arenas normalizadas espa olas. Su preparación. ARENAS en el lETcc. 1.a Parte
Chinchilla, M.
Materiales de Construccion , 1988,
Abstract: In 1919, the Ministry of Public Works made the Central Laboratory responsible for all referring to sands with respect to the evaluation of tensile and compressive strengths of cement mortar. After 1956, the then Technical Institute of Construction and Cement took over the preparation and supply of this type of Spanish sand. Presently, these sands are still being prepared in a modern complex consisting of an installation in Segovia and the sand plant located at the lETcc.
Chinchilla, M.
Informes de la Construccion , 1978,
Abstract: The struggle agoinst the effects of environment pollution, owing to the human and industrial growth, requires the adoption of more effective corrective measures for which the availability of the most accurate and comprehensive Information is a necessary prerequisite. A proposed solution is presented for the collection of actual truly representative samples, using collecting capsules towed by radiocontrolled light airplanes, which permit the analysis, not only of the data relative to the emission point, but also of the many points in the surrounding area under the influence of such emission point.

Abstract: Not available.
Chinchilla Mazariegos, Oswaldo;
Estudios de cultura maya , 2010,
Abstract: the birds represented at stela 25 of izapa and copan ball court are the starting point for the analysis of the mythological topic focused on the vagina dentata in ancient mesoamerica, as well as their expressions on art and narrative. a large body of mythological narratives is used as a basis for the examination of the "siete guacamayo" story included in the popol vuh, which is interpreted as part of a widely extended myth related with the creation of the sun and the moon. the identification of common issues, as the vagina dentata topic, strengthens the links between the popol vuh myth and the izapa and copan representations. it also reveals less known details on the sexual symbolism included in the mesoamerican cosmogonic myths.
LAS SUPERVIVENCIAS Y AVERSIONES DE LOS REVOLUCIONARIOS COLOMBIANOS: PREFERENCIAS ESTRATéGICAS DE GRUPOS GUERRILLEROS ANTE LA POSIBILIDAD DE NEGOCIAR LA PAZ
Chinchilla,Fernando A.;
Colombia Internacional , 2010,
Abstract: why did certain colombian armed groups such as the m-19, the popular liberation army (epl), the workers' revolutionary party (prt) and the socialist renovation current (crs) decide to sign a peace agreement while others, such as the revolutionary armed forces of colombia (farc) and the national liberation army (eln) refused to do so? based on a historical analysis of the political behavior of these armed groups, this essay shows that willingness to negotiate depends, at least partly, on the belligerents' extremism or modera-tion, which varies as a function of the balance of power between 'hardliners' and 'softlin-ers' (distribution of political, economic, and strategic resources) within each collective actor. the essay identifies four strategic choices: recognition of the adversary, acceptance of negotiation as a valid political tool for conflict resolution, calls for defining the rules of peace negotiations, and sending costly signals in favor of peace, which help to distinguish a moderate from an extremist. the essay concludes that the use of political violence is not necessarily an indicator of extremism.
In vitro multiplication of Toxoplasma gondii and Trypanosoma cruzi in mouse, rat, and hamster astrocytes
Troyo,Adriana; Chinchilla,Misael;
Revista de Biología Tropical , 2003,
Abstract: the infection and multiplication of toxoplasma gondii and trypanosoma cruzi were compared in primary cultures of white rat, mouse and hamster astrocytes. these cells were cultured on cover slides and infected with t. gondii tachyzoites or t. cruzi blood trypomastigotes. results show that hamster astrocytes are more susceptible to the multiplication of both parasites than rat and mouse cells. there was no statistical difference between the t. gondii infection in rat and mouse astrocytes (p<0.05), and this suggests an important role of other mechanisms or cells in the white rat natural resistance to this parasite. because the hamster astrocytes are less resistant to these parasites multiplication and not necessarily to the invasion, any difference observed could be due to an intracellular effect: hamster brain astrocytes favor survival and multiplication of these parasites
Seed predation by mammals in forest fragments in Monteverde, Costa Rica
Chinchilla,Federico A;
Revista de Biología Tropical , 2009,
Abstract: few studies have evaluated seed predation in fragmented landscapes, in which lower species diversity is expected to modifying ecological interactions. the rates of seed removal by mammals were investigated in a continuous forest and two fragmented patches of premontane tropical moist forest, in monteverde, costa rica. the composition of mammalian seed-predators in each site was recorded during 16 months. the removal of four native tree species of experimental seeds: ocotea valeriana and ocotea whitei (lauraceae), panopsis costaricensis (proteaceae) and billia colombiana (hippocastanaceae) in forest understories was followed during two annual fruiting seasons for each species. results indicated similar species composition of seed-predators between continuous forest, the largest fragment (350 ha). however the smaller fragment (20 ha), had fewer seed predators. in this fragment, the specialized seed predator heteromys desmarestianus (rodentia) was more abundant. unexpectedly, seed-predation in the two forest fragments and the continuous forest did not differ statistically for any of the seed species. apparently, the higher abundance of small seed-predators in the fragments was compensated by the absence of medium and large seed-predators, like agouti paca, dasyprocta punctata (both rodentia) and pecari tajacu (artiodactyla) recorded in continuous forest. removal of experimentally-placed seeds was higher when the number of naturally occurring seeds in the sites was lower. this result could best be attributed to differential satiation of seed predators rather than differences in richness or abundance of seed predators. rev. biol. trop. 57 (3): 865-877. epub 2009 september 30.
Acción colectiva e intervención profesional del Trabajo Social: límites y posibilidades para la construcción de ciudadanía
Chinchilla Montes, Marcos;
Revista Katálysis , 2006, DOI: 10.1590/S1414-49802006000200003
Abstract: this paper presents some ideas about the historic role of the social work profession in the construction of citizenship and in the formation of inclusionary, just and democratic policies that respond to the promotion and full benefit of human rights. the paper articulates four basic discussions. first, it looks at the nature of social participation expressed in social movements and collective action. second, it examines the importance given to social participation in the professional praxis and thirdly the need to reconsider the social project not only from the perspective of social workers but also in conjunction with other social actors. in conclusion, the paper analyzes a series of local actions that are related to a logic of international actions that support the concept of a construction of citizenship with a globalizing dimension that is not neoliberal.
