Abstract:
Mrs. Gerber's Lemma (MGL) hinges on the convexity of $H(p*H^{-1}(u))$, where $H(u)$ is the binary entropy function. In this work, we prove that $H(p*f(u))$ is convex in $u$ for every $p\in [0,1]$ provided $H(f(u))$ is convex in $u$, where $f(u) : (a, b) \to [0, \frac12]$. Moreover, our result subsumes MGL and simplifies the original proof. We show that the generalized MGL can be applied in binary broadcast channel to simplify some discussion.

Abstract:
In order to finely predict the receiving schedule of the new generation of polar orbit meteorological satellite time-delay data and solve the problem of rapid positioning of lost data, this paper studies and proposes the satellite data recording and satellite program-controlled program, and designs the delay data receiving timeline precision forecasting method. It is concluded that the detection load of polar orbit meteorological satellite in our country has developed from single load to multiple loads, and the detection data need to be downloaded to the ground for processing and application. And as the satellite load increases and the accuracy of each payload detection and channel increases, the amount of probing data will further increase, which in turn will require further increase of the speed of data transmission in the earth. Due to the limitation of the space data transmission frequency band, under the prior art system, the increase of the satellite data transmission rate is limited. On the basis of understanding the working principle of Fengyun-3, the new transmission system will be implemented in terms of data source compression, channel coding, modulation and polarization multiplexing by exploring new weather transmission systems for meteorological satellites in the future upgrade and at the same time analyze ways to avoid inter-satellite interference in order to solve the contradiction between the increase of data volume and the resource of terrestrial data transmission in the existing system.

Abstract:
A group-oriented access control scheme is proposed for P2P (peer to peer) networks. In the proposed scheme, authentication control, admission control and revocation control are used in order to provide security services for P2P networks. Moreover, the proposed scheme can simply and efficient establish share key between two members without interactions, therefore it can perform secure communications with them. The analysis of security and performance shows that the proposed scheme not only can realize authentication and secure communication, but also can easily and efficiently add new group members and revoke malicious group members. Therefore, it is more efficient, and more practical protocol for P2P networks.

Abstract:
In this paper, we determine the structures of zero-divisor semigroups whose graph is $K_n + 1$, the complete graph $K_n$ together with an end vertex. We also present a formula to calculate the number of non-isomorphic zero-divisor semigroups corresponding to the complete graph $K_n$, for all positive integer $n$.

Abstract:
Let $X$ be an arbitrary continuous random variable and $Z$ be an independent Gaussian random variable with zero mean and unit variance. For $t~>~0$, Costa proved that $e^{2h(X+\sqrt{t}Z)}$ is concave in $t$, where the proof hinged on the first and second order derivatives of $h(X+\sqrt{t}Z)$. Specifically, these two derivatives are signed, i.e., $\frac{\partial}{\partial t}h(X+\sqrt{t}Z) \geq 0$ and $\frac{\partial^2}{\partial t^2}h(X+\sqrt{t}Z) \leq 0$. In this paper, we show that the third order derivative of $h(X+\sqrt{t}Z)$ is nonnegative, which implies that the Fisher information $J(X+\sqrt{t}Z)$ is convex in $t$. We further show that the fourth order derivative of $h(X+\sqrt{t}Z)$ is nonpositive. Following the first four derivatives, we make two conjectures on $h(X+\sqrt{t}Z)$: the first is that $\frac{\partial^n}{\partial t^n} h(X+\sqrt{t}Z)$ is nonnegative in $t$ if $n$ is odd, and nonpositive otherwise; the second is that $\log J(X+\sqrt{t}Z)$ is convex in $t$. The first conjecture can be rephrased in the context of completely monotone functions: $J(X+\sqrt{t}Z)$ is completely monotone in $t$. The history of the first conjecture may date back to a problem in mathematical physics studied by McKean in 1966. Apart from these results, we provide a geometrical interpretation to the covariance-preserving transformation and study the concavity of $h(\sqrt{t}X+\sqrt{1-t}Z)$, revealing its connection with Costa's EPI.

Abstract:
The high frequency transient recovery voltage caused by usually switching operation of the circuit breakers, used on shunt reactor switching, have become a noticeable problem recently. For extension the service life time and normal operation of the circuit breakers, a well modified maintenance strategy is proposed. The field testing and experimental measurement showed the maintenance strategy proposed had been proved effectively and adopted in Taiwan Power Company.

The competitive iodide/iodate reaction scheme was used to ascertain the micromixing in the stirred solid-liquid systems. Two different glass beads from 450 to 1250 μm were tested. The effect of solid particles on reaction selectivity with multiple impellers at different feed points has been investigated. It was confirmed that glass beads as a second phase were suitable for the study. The segregation index has changed significantly only for the medium-sized particles at relatively high solid holdups. The cloud formation was clearly observed for the medium-sized particles at a concentration of 12.12 wt. %. When feeding into the clear liquid above the cloud, the value of the segregation index increased significantly. However, in the presence of particles of 1-1.25 mm, the influence on the selectivity was negligible when the agitation speed was increased.

Abstract:
In this paper, we compare the performance between channel estimation based on compressed sensing (CS) and time-domain least square (LS) for single-carrier (SC) communication system. Unlike the conventional channel estimation techniques such as frequency domain LS which is used in the condition that the length of pilot sequence is equal to data sequence, the estimation scheme based on CS requires smaller length of pilot sequence. In this paper, the corresponding system structure is presented. Zadoff-Chu sequence is used to generate the pilot sequence, which is shown to perform better in forming measurement matrix of CS than pseudo random sequence. Simulation results demonstrate that channel estimation based on CS achieves a better bit error rate (BER) performance than time domain LS with a smaller pilot sequence and thus raising data rate of the SC communication system.

Abstract:
In this paper, we study the dynamic relationship of bond yields of Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, India, and Japan by using 43 observations for the period of 2007 to July 2010. This study analyzes the government bond returns and the yields curve for the five countries with different term to maturity of 5 years and 15 years. The results indicate that the yields on government bond for the five countries are all consistent with the term structure of interest rate theory where the yields to maturity increase as the term to maturity increase during the period of 2007 to 2010. There is also evidence supporting the yields to maturity for all five countries are significantly stationary at order one or I(1). Moreover, the findings also show that there are a few groups of countries were found co-integration with one vector. In long run, the results find that between the group of countries, Malaysia and India, Singapore and Thailand, and Singapore and India, the bond returns for the 5 and15 years term to maturity are co-integrated with at least one co-integrating vectors.
