Anomalous Dimension in the Solution of the Barenblatt's Equation

Abstract: A new method is presented to obtain the anomalous dimension in the solution of the Barenblatt's equation. The result is the same as that in the renormalization group (RG) approach. It gives us insight on the perturbative solution of the Barenblatt's equation in the RG approach. Based on this discussion, an improvement is made to take into account, in more complete way, the nonlinear effect, which is included in the Heaviside function in higher orders. This improved result is better than that in RG approach.

Abstract: Previously, we have reported that a gene encoding Bombyxmoriβ-N-acetylglucosaminidase 2 (BmGlcNAcase2) has been identified differentially expressed in the midgut of Bombyxmori strain NB resistant to nucleopolyhedrovirus (BmNPV), strain 306 susceptible to NPV and a near isogenic line BC9 with similar genetic background to 306 but resistant to NPV by two-dimensional gel electrophoresis (2-DE). To get more knowledge about the relationship between β-N-acetylglucosaminidase and the resistance of NPV, in this study, the 1542 bp open reading frame of a putative bombyxmoriβ-N-acetylglucosaminidase 2 gene (BmGlcNAcase2) was amplified from a pool of bombyxmoricDNAs and inserted into the prokaryotic expression plasmid pET-30a(+).Western blotting analysis showed that BmGlcNAcase2 was expressed in hemolymph, ovary, testis, fat body, trachea, midgut and silk gland of fifth instar larvae respectively . Immunofluoresence analysis indicated that BmGlcNAcase2 was mainly located to the cytoplasm or some structure in cytoplasm.
Design of Off-grid Home Photovoltaic Power System in Shaanxi Region  [PDF]

Abstract: Shaanxi province has three land forms which are Shaanxi’s northern plateau, Guanzhong plain and Qinba mountain land in the south of Shaanxi province. So the climate type is also divided into three types and the solar energy resources distribution has a big gap between different regions. PV modules, as the core component of off-grid home photovoltaic power system, their output power are mainly influenced by sun radiation, array tile angle, temperature and so on. Based on the reasons above, in order to apply off-grid home photovoltaic power system in Shaanxi region, this paper designs different systems with different configuration, and makes the performance prediction. The results show that the capacity of PV modules reaches to the largest in Shaanxi northern region, reach minimum in Shaanxi southern region and the output power in the winter is less than in the summer and reach minimum in the spring and autumn. In light of the characteristics above, this research select different type and configuration in different areas systematically, and the performance analysis shows that the configuration can meet the basic life demand of power to the people whose power is not available.
Pregnant women’s awareness and acceptance of epidural anesthesia and its influence on cesarean section rate control in China: A qualitative study  [PDF]

Abstract:

Background: Epidural anesthesia, as an effective pain relief method, could be viewed as an attempt to encourage vaginal delivery and control cesarean section. Increased demand caused by psychosocial factors such as fear of childbirth and labor pain is supposed to be one predictable drive of high cesarean section rate in present China. Little qualitative information on women’s awareness and perceptions of epidural anesthesia was found, but conscious efforts should be focused on this part to help generate policy-making priority. Methods: This study was carried out under an exploratory descriptive design in Bao’an Maternity and Child Health Hospital. Those interested in participating would be invited to focus group discussion or individual interview according to a semi-structured open-ended guide after collecting the participants’ demographic characteristics. The thematic content analysis approach was used for data analysis. Results: Five major themes were identified: 1. the sources to gain information on epidural anesthesia; 2. clinical impact; 3. social impact on awareness; 4. association between epidural anesthesia and cesarean section; 5. attitudes and questions about the current service implementation. Discussions: The interplay between pregnancy knowledge, socio-economic conditions, social support, insurance policy environment, women’s judgment of health care quality influences the ways women acknowledge and utilize epidural anesthesia service. Conclusions: As maternal requested CS due to low pain tolerance emerges gradually, natural labor with epidural anesthesia is a more suitable childbirth option, which is also expected to function in reducing CS rate by service-providers and administrators in the health departments of China besides building up a pain-free labor environment.

Abstract: The interests of vulnerable groups can’t be guaranteed due to their weaker capacity and the limited interests demand channels during the water pollution conflicts. The interest protection for the vulnerable people in the water pollution conflicts has attracted attentions of the international scholars. The paper tries to construct the market mechanism which can make the vulnerable people to involve in the emission trading. The vulnerable people can buy American put option in the emission trading market. When the price of the emission runs below the contract price, the vulnerable people can get the benefit through executing the option. When the price of the emission runs above the contract price, the vulnerable people can give up the right. The binomial tree option pricing model can help the vulnerable people to make a decision through the analysis of the worth of the American put option.

Abstract:

Ubiquitin-proteasome pathway (UPP) is a significant way of protein degradation and modification in eukaryotic cell and involved in a complex series of intracellular processes. As a key component in UPP, ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme (E2) plays an extremely important role in ubiquitin (Ub) transferring and substrate specific recognition. Abundant evidences have proved that UPP is involved in cells immune reaction caused by pathogens and the attendance of E2 has a significant effect on host cells and pathogen. This article presents an overview of the current research on E2s that is involved in immune response caused by viruses and bacteria.

Temporal Characteristic of M--M Transition Lasers in Strontium Atom Vapour

Abstract: The kinetic process of Sr atom metastable--metastable transition lasers in He--Sr longitudinal pulsed discharge is analysed and a concise self-consistent physical model is developed. The temporal evolutions of discharge parameters, main particle densities, the electron temperature, and the lasing pulses are numerically calculated. The results provided by the model agree well with the experiment, and the temporal behaviour of each laser pulse is explained successfully by the simulation results.
Modeling and Fuzzy PDC Control and Its Application to an Oscillatory TLP Structure

Abstract: An analytical solution is derived to describe the wave-induced flow field and surge motion of a deformable platform structure controlled with fuzzy controllers in an oceanic environment. In the controller design procedure, a parallel distributed compensation (PDC) scheme is utilized to construct a global fuzzy logic controller by blending all local state feedback controllers. The Lyapunov method is used to carry out stability analysis of a real system structure. The corresponding boundary value problems are then incorporated into scattering and radiation problems. These are analytically solved, based on the separation of variables, to obtain a series of solutions showing the harmonic incident wave motion and surge motion. The dependence of the wave-induced flow field and its resonant frequency on wave characteristics and structural properties including platform width, thickness and mass can thus be drawn with a parametric approach. The wave-induced displacement of the surge motion is determined from these mathematical models. The vibration of the floating structure and mechanical motion caused by the wave force are also discussed analytically based on fuzzy logic theory and the mathematical framework to find the decay in amplitude of the surge motion in the tension leg platform (TLP) system. The expected effects of the damping in amplitude of the surge motion due to the control force on the structural response are obvious.
An optimization method for large van der Waals system

Abstract: An optimization method for the geometry of large van der Waals system was suggested by discussing parallel dimer of benzene. The key of this method is to place some basis functions at interaction region of van der Waals molecules. It is possible to optimize large supramolecular system by using this method because it can greatly decrease the number of basis sets. This method was used to optimize the geometry of dimer of pyrene and the result is satisfactory.

Abstract: This paper presents Gracias (Graphic Card Direct Assignment), which directly assign a graphics card to a certain virtual machine. Thus, access request from device driver of the graphic card in virtual machine will not cause any traps into the virtual machine monitor and the request will be handled directly by the hardware instead of software emulation. This makes the programs that have high demand on graphic processing give much better performance than with ordinary virtualization approaches.
