Abstract: Organic triazophos wastewater was continuously treated with Rhodopseudomonas capsulatus and activated carbon and activated sludge system(PACT-AS) in a plug bioreactor. A kinetic model of PACT-AS wastewater treatment system was established to provide an useful basis for further simulate scale-up treatment of toxic organic wastewater.
Effect of bacterivorous nematode on soil microbial biomass and microbiocoen-(osis)

Abstract: Researches on the interaction between nematodes and microbes were usually carried out in gnotobiotic microcosm, in order to know the interaction in open soil system, we inoculated bacterivorous nematode (Protorhabditis sp) into the open soil system with and without wheat to study the effects of bacterivorous nematodes and their interactions with roots on soil microbial biomass and microriocoenosis at different growth stages of wheat. The results indicated that, the inoculation of bacterivorous nematodes increased the content of SMBC, SMBN and SMBP by 26.4%, 32.9% and 21.8% respectively, and the difference were obviously in most treatments except some treatments of bulk soil and soil without plant. The content of SMBC, SMBN and SMBP in rhizosphere soil were much more than that in the bulk soil and soil without plant. The influence of nematode inoculation on SMBC, SMBN and SMBP was in the sequence of SMBN> SMBC> SMBP, and the influence of nematode inoculation on SMBC was most obvious in rhizosphere soil. The inoculation of bacterivorous nematodes had significant effects on bacteria, fungi and actinomycetes number. The bacteria number significantly increased in treatments with nematodes except in rhizosphere soil at seedling stage of wheat. The influence of nematode inoculation on fungi and actinomycetes number was bigger than on bacteria number, the fungi and actinomycetes number were increased by 48.5% and 68.2% respectively. There was no significant correlation between bacteria number and SMBC content in all treatments, while there were significant correlation between fungi number and SMBC content in rhizosphere soil and bulk soil and significant correlation between actinomycetes number and SMBC content in soil without plant.

Abstract: Objectives: To report and evaluate the application of entire gastrointestinal barium meal combined with multi-temporal abdominal films in the diagnosis of patients with intestinal neuronal dysplasia type B (IND type B). Methods: Thirty-six patients with symptoms of long-standing constipation were enrolled in this study. The study took place at the Department of General Surgery, Xiangyang Central Hospital, Hubei Province, China from July 2007 to October 2012. All of them had already been subjected to barium enema and anorectal manometry and were suspected to be IND type B, but were not confirmed by mucous membrane acetylcholinesterase determination. All underwent entire gastrointestinal barium meal combined with multi-temporal abdominal films. The data was collected and then analyzed retrospectively. Results: After entire gastrointestinal barium meal combined with multi-temporal abdominal films, 30 out of 36 cases in this group were diagnosed with intestinal neuronal diseases, and then treated with appropriate surgical treatment. The postoperative pathological diagnosis was IND type B. The other 6 patients in this group still could not be diagnosed explicitly after the test; thus, we treated them with conservative treatment. Conclusion: Entire gastrointestinal barium meal combined with multi-temporal abdominal films has the advantage of being able to test the gastrointestinal transfer capabilities, and to find physiological and pathological changes simultaneously. It could provide important proof for the diagnosis of patients with intestinal neuronal dysplasia type B.

Reexamination of the role of the $Δ^{\ast}$ resonances in the $pp\rightarrow nK^{+}Σ^{+}$ reaction

Abstract: In this work, the role of the $\Delta ^{\ast }$ resonances in the process of $pp\rightarrow nK^{+}\Sigma ^{+}$ are systematically investigated with the effective Lagrangian approach and the isobar model. We find that a $P_{31}$ state, either $\Delta ^{\ast }(1750)$ or $\Delta ^{\ast }(1910)$, is favored by the data while the $P_{33}$ state, namely $\Delta ^{\ast }(1920)$, has small contribution. Besides, either sub-threshold $S_{31}$ $\Delta ^{\ast }(1620)$ resonance or strong $n\Sigma $ final state interaction or both have possible contribution at near threshold region, depending on the measured cross sections. We demonstrate the invariant mass distributions and the Dalitz Plots in order to investigate whether it is possible to distinguish the controversial $K\Sigma $ production mechanism in these observables.

Abstract: Usingseasonallycollecteddata(2009-2010)from15samplingsitesthatrepresentfirst-tofifth-orderstreamswithintheQingyiwatershed,weexaminedthespatio-temporalpatternsoffishassemblagesalongtwolongitudinalgradientstoexploretheeffectsofalargedamonfishassemblagesatthewatershedscale.Nosignificantvariationwasobservedineitherspeciesrichnessorassemblagestructureacrossseasons.Speciesrichnesssignificantlyvariedaccordingtostreamorderandgradient.Damconstructionappearedtodecreasespeciesrichnessupstreamsubstantially,whileasignificantdecreasebetweengradientsonlyoccurredwithinfourth-orderstreams.Alongthegradientwithoutthelargedam,fishassemblagestructurespresenteddistinctseparationbetweentwoneighboringstreamorders,withtheexceptionoffourth-orderversusfifth-orderstreams.However,thegradientdisruptedbyalargedamdisplayedtheoppositepatterninthespatialvariationoffishassemblagesrelatedwithstreamorders.Significantbetween-gradientdifferencesinfishassemblagestructureswereonlyobservedwithinfourth-orderstreams.Speciesdistributionsweredeterminedbylocalhabitatenvironmentalfactors,includingelevation,substrate,waterdepth,currentdischarge,wettedwidth,andconductivity.OurresultssuggestedthatdamconstructionmightalterthelongitudinalpatterninfishspeciesrichnessandassemblagestructureinQingyiStream,despitethelocalizednatureoftheecologicaleffectofdams.
Pyrrolo[3,2-d]pyrimidine Derivatives as Type II Kinase Insert Domain Receptor (KDR) Inhibitors: CoMFA and CoMSIA Studies

Abstract: Kinase insert domain receptor (KDR) inhibitors have been proved to be very effective anticancer agents. Molecular docking, 3D-QSAR methods, CoMFA and CoMSIA were performed on pyrrolo[3,2- d]pyrimidine derivatives as non-ATP competitive KDR inhibitors (type II). The bioactive conformation was explored by docking one potent compound 20 into the active site of KDR in its DFG-out inactive conformation. The constructed CoMFA and CoMSIA models produced statistically significant results with the cross-validated correlation coefficients q 2 of 0.542 and 0.552, non-cross-validated correlation coefficients r 2 of 0.912 and 0.955, and predicted correction coefficients r 2 pred of 0.913 and 0.897, respectively. These results ensure the CoMFA and CoMSIA models as a tool to guide the design of a series of new potent KDR inhibitors.
Overexpression of Insig-1 protects β cell against glucolipotoxicity via SREBP-1c

Abstract: An Insig-1 stable cell line was generated by overexpression of Insig-1 in INS-1 cells. The expression of Insig-1 was evaluated by RT-PCR and Western blotting, then, cells were then treated with standard (11.2 mM) or high (25.0 mM) glucose for 0 h, 24 h and 72 h. Cell viability, apoptosis, glucose stimulated insulin secretion (GSIS), lipid metabolism and mRNA expression of insulin secretion relevant genes such as IRS-2, PDX-1, GLUT-2, Insulin and UCP-2 were evaluated.We found that Insig-1 suppressed the high glucose induced SREBP-1c mRNA and protein expression. Our results also showed that Insig-1 overexpression protected β cells from ER stress-induced apoptosis by regulating the proteins expressed in the IRE1α pathway, such as p-IRE1α, p-JNK, CHOP and BCL-2. In addition, Insig-1 up-regulated the expression of IRS-2, PDX-1, GLUT-2 and Insulin, down-regulated the expression of UCP-2 and improved glucose stimulated insulin secretion (GSIS). Finally, we found that Insig-1 inhibited the lipid accumulation and free fatty acid (FFA) synthesis in a time-dependent manner.There results suggest that Insig-1 may play a critical role in protecting β cells against glucolipotoxicity by regulating the expression of SREBP-1c.Pancreatic β cell dysfunction is a crucial pathological contributor to the development of type 2 diabetes. The effects of glucose and free fatty acid (FFA) on β cell dysfunction have been extensively studied [1-4]. Chronic exposure to high glucose or high lipid leads to "glucotoxicity" or "lipotoxicity" [5]. The term "glucolipotoxicity" is now widely accepted to describe the combined effects of high glucose and high lipid on β cell dysfunction [6].
