Serum homocysteine concentrations of Chinese intellectuals and the influential factors concerned  [PDF]

Abstract: Objective: To observe the concentration of se-rum homocysteine in intellectuals and the re-lated influential factors. Methods: The concen-trations serum homocysteine and saliva cortisol were measured in 138 intellectuals from three cities, Tianjin, Guangzhou and Chengdu in China. All the subjects had senior titles of tech-nical post, aged 40-69 years. Results: The mean value of serum homocysteine concentration in intellectuals was 20.6±0.8μmol/L, higher than the reference value. With the increase of cortisol levels the homocysteine concentrations rise (P <0.05). The mean value of homocysteine con-centration was highest in 40-49 years old group. Men had higher homocysteine level than women in this investigation. According to the mean value of homocysteine concentration among different cities, Tianjin was highest, Chengdu medium, Guangzhou lowest. Conclusion: The serum homocysteine concentration of intellec-tuals is higher than the reference value. The stress level, gender and resident cities might contribute to the differences in serum homo-cysteine concentration in Chinese intellectuals.

Magnetization Dynamics driven by Non-equilibrium Spin-Orbit Coupled Electron Gas

Abstract: The dynamics of magnetization coupled to an electron gas via s-d exchange interaction is investigated by using density matrix technique. Our theory shows that non-equilibrium spin accumulation induces a spin torque and the electron bath leads to a damping of the magnetization. For the two-dimensional magnetization thin film coupled to the electron gas with Rashba spin-orbit coupling, the result for the spin-orbit torques is consistent with the previous semi-classical theory. Our theory predicts a damping of the magnetization, which is absent in the semi-classical theory. The magnitude of the damping due to the electron bath is comparable to the intrinsic Gilbert damping and may be important in describing the magnetization dynamics of the system.
Possible pi-phase shift at interface of two pnictides with antiphase s-wave pairing

Abstract: We examine the nature of Josephson junction between two identical Fe-pnictides with anti-phase s-wave pairing. pi-phase shift is found if the junction barrier is thick and the two Fe-pnictides are oriented in certain directions relative to the interface. Our theory provides a possible explanation for the observed half integer flux quantum transitions in a niobium/polycrystal NdFeAsO loop, and attributes the pi-phase shift to intergrain junctions of Fe-pnictides.
Dynamics of Order Parameter in Photoexcited Peierls Chain

Abstract: The photoexcited dynamics of order parameter in Peierls chain is investigated by using a microscopic quantum theory in the limit where the hot electrons may establish themselves into a quasi-equilibrium state described by an effective temperature. The optical phonon mode responsible for the Peierls instability is coupled to the electron subsystem, and its dynamic equation is derived in terms of the density matrix technique. Recovery dynamics of the order parameter is obtained, which reveals a number of interesting features including the change of oscillation frequency and amplitude at phase transition temperature and the photo-induced switching of order parameter.

Abstract: Avastin? (bevacizumab) is a protein drug widely used for cancer treatment although its further use is questionable due to serious side effects reported. As no systematic proteomic study on posttranslational modifications (PTMs) was reported so far, it was the aim of the current study to use a gel-based proteomics method for determination of Avastin?-protein(s). Avastin? was run on two-dimensional gel electrophoresis (2-DE), spots were picked, followed by multi-enzyme in-gel digestion. Subsequently, the resulting peptides and posttranslational modifications were identified by mass spectrometry (nano-LC-ESI-MS/MS; HCT and LTQ Orbitrap MS). Heavy and light chains were observed and the 9 spots that were picked from 2DE-gels were identified as bevacizumab with high sequence coverage. MS/MS results showed multiple tyrosine nitrations on the Avastin? light and heavy chains that were either represented as nitrotyrosine or as aminotyrosine, which was shown to be generated from nitrotyrosine under reducing conditions. Protein nitration is known to significantly change protein functions and interactions and it may well be that some of the adverse effects of the protein drug Avastin? may be due to this PTM, which may have been generated during production- thus, nitration of Avastin? is a challenge for the pharmaceutical industry.

Abstract: 以2005年为时间截面,以不包括港澳台在内的中华人民共和国其他地区为空间边界,定量地刻画了中国国家尺度的铝物质流静态图景.研究结果表明:2005年国内消费的原生铝为726.2×104t,再生铝(仅考虑来自旧废铝的量)为166.3×104t,再生铝占国内铝消费总量的18.6%;中国已经成为铝的净进口大国,2005年从各个环节净进口纯铝438.3×104t,铝的总对外依存度为43.7%,在各种舍铝物质中,属于净进口的有铝土矿、氧化铝和废杂铝等原材料,而属于净出口的有未锻轧铝、铝加工材和铝金属制品等初级产品;排除含铝产品的制造环节以及使用阶段,各个环节损耗纯铝348.2×104t,其中来自铝土矿开采环节的占54.0%.根据计算结果,提出了改善进出口结构、减少铝损耗量、增加铝循环利用量的政策建议.在现有的研究基础上,可以从多年演化、空间分布等角度进一步定量地刻画中国国家尺度的铝物质流图景.
A Method of Fast Searching I Pictures in MPEG-2 System Stream

Abstract: In this paper, a method of fast searching I pictures in MPEG-2 system stream using long step and short step is presented. The method achieves higher speed performance comparing with the byte by byte searching method, and is applied in the design of the functions of MPEG-2 players, such as fast forward, fast backward and play backward. The implementation of these functions is described in detail. Moreover, this method can also be applied in VBR (variable bit rate) MPEG system stream, which is proposed based on CBR (constant bit rate) stream.
Improvements on Bit Rate Control Algorithm for MPEG Video Coding

Abstract: 针对MPEG-2测试模型5(TM5)比特速率控制算法进行了以下改进:①引入一种智能积分作用,有利于提高比特速率的控制精度;②采用DCT交流系数定义宏块和图象的编码难度测度,然后提出了改进的目标编码量分配策略,即根据编码难度测度自适应调整图象和宏块的目标编码量,有利于提高包括场景变化在内的图象解码质量及其一致性.模拟实验结果表明:采用智能积分作用能达到很高的控制精度,与TM5相比,相对误差降低了约一个数量级;采用目标编码量的改进分配策略,平均峰值信噪比(PSNR)有明显提高,而且也能改善由于场景切换所带来的对图象解码质量的影响.
