Current In-situ Stress State of Shanxi Basin and Analysis of Earthquake Risk

Abstract: Hydraulic fracturing in-situ stress measurements were carried out in 13 boreholes in the southern and northern parts of Shangxi Basin, and the magnitude and direction as well as the distribution regularity of the stress values were obtained. In Wutaishan and Yanmenguan areas within the northern part of Shanxi basin, the magnitude of the measured maximum horizontal principal stress is 8~12 MPa in the depth range of 400~600 m. In Linfen and Yuncheng areas within the southern part of Shanxi basin, the tectonic stress is much higher, with the measured maximum horizontal principal stress being 20~28 Mpa in the depth range of 400~500 m. Obviously, the magnitude of the stress in the southern part is much higher than that in the northern part. According to Coulomb faulting criterion and by using the above in-situ stress data, the authors studied the characteristics and activities of the faults in the study area. The results show that in Wutai, Yanmenguan and Linfen, the stress values have not reached the critical value, whereas in Yuncheng area, the values have reached the lower limit of the fault activity; moreover, if the pore pressure is taken into account, the maximum horizontal principal stress has reached the critical value for reverse fault activity, and the strain accumulation is even much higher. It is suggested that much more attention should be paid to this area.

Abstract: 针对铝土矿床突水,开展地应力测量研究,是分析查明突水成因、优化确定防治方案及合理进行矿床底板管理的一项重要手段。夹沟矿床测量分析结果表明:①矿床地区存在较高的水平构造应力,其量值明显高于垂向应力。矿床水平高构造应力对矿床底板及其边坡稳定性具有不良影响,矿床开采掘面轴线走向应沿N70°E方向布设趋佳;②由于持续开采作用,矿床附近地应力状态产生不良扰动,水平高构造应力同开采形成的局部地应力场不良改变的叠加影响对矿床底板岩石场各类裂隙、结构面水起到极为重要的“催化”作用,是造成矿床底板突水的重要因素之一;③防治工作应重视加强矿床底板管理,科学预留安全隔水层屏障。并建议对矿床底板及其下伏一定范围内的灰岩实施预注浆处理,使得裂隙得以加固、溶洞得到堵塞,以抵抗不良应力的作用,消除或减弱对矿床突水的影响。

Abstract: On the basis of the "Basic database of crustal stress environment in China", this paper summarizes the basic characteristics of recent tectonic stress field in China and adjacent areas, proposes the principle of dividing the tectonic stress districts. The recent tectonic stress field of China and adjacent areas is classified into four classes: The characteristic of the first order tectonic stress district shows uniformity and stability in large areas and long time. This stress field is mostly controlled by the geometry character of plate boundary and the force acting on plate boundary. The stress action of second order tectonic stress district shows coherence in a relatively large area. This stress field is controlled by regional block interaction. The stress regime of the third order tectonic stress district shows comparability in finite areas. This stress field is mostly influenced by interior block interaction inside the areas. The stress character (direction, intensity, structure, etc) of the forth order stress district shows better coherence. This stress field is mostly controlled by block and fault interaction. The paper preliminarily analyzes the dynamic environment which controlled the recent tectonic stress field in China and adjacent areas.

Abstract: Advance in polyembryonic seedling (PS) in angiosperms is summarized in the paper. There are many kinds of PS materials in angiosperms, but the PS materials from the special polyembryoes are only thought to be valuable in fixing the crop heterosis. However, affirmative conclusion about the mechanism of producing the PS material in angiosperms is not still formed and obtained. The haploid, diploid and polyploid PS materials have respectively special value in crop breeding.

Abstract: The frequency of polyeggs and polyembryo-seedlings of APIV are to certain extent related to both the developmental season and the site of the spikelet in a panicle. The frequency in summer was higher than that in autumn. In a panicle, the frequencies in the stronger spikelet were higher, but in the weaker ones lower. However, there was no difference in the frequency between the mainpanicles and the tilling-panicles of heading at the same season.

Abstract: In this paper,international background about study on crustal stress and its database establishing was described.The structure of the "Fundamental Database of Crustal Stress Environment in continental China",including data type,data source and their distribution and so on,were introduced,and the preliminary ideas in designing the database as well as the main functions and characteristics of the database were illustrated.In addition,based on the observed stress data in this project,the stress division in China and numerical stimulating of tectonic stress fields were are also reported.

Abstract: The present paper compared the major storage proteins in starchy endosperm of four autotetraploid rice lines with that of their corresponding diploid rice lines.The content of albumin,globulin,prolamin and glutelin in each sample was determined respectively.The structure and expression pattern of each storage protein was investigated using one-dimensional SDS-PAGE.Our results showed that the protein content of each fraction in endosperm of autotetraploid rice line is mostly higher than that of its corresponding diploid rice line.However,the SDS-PAGE analysis showed that the subunit types of each storage protein of autotetraploid rice line was generally homologous to that of its corresponding dip-loid rice line,except for one differential band observed on SDS-PAGE gels of total protein fraction and another on the SDS-PAGE gels of albumin and globulin fraction.These results indicated that duplicated genes in autotetraploid rice ac-quired the same expression patterns as that seen in its corresponding diploid rice.It was suggested that the doubling of chromosome sets did not change the protein expression profile but the protein expression level in the starchy endosperm of autotetraploid rice.
Nonlinear Forced Vibration of a Viscoelastic Buckled Beam with 2 : 1 Internal Resonance

Abstract: Nonlinear dynamics of a viscoelastic buckled beam subjected to primary resonance in the presence of internal resonance is investigated for the first time. For appropriate choice of system parameters, the natural frequency of the second mode is approximately twice that of the first providing the condition for 2?:?1 internal resonance. The ordinary differential equations of the two mode shapes are established using the Galerkin method. The problem is replaced by two coupled second-order differential equations with quadratic and cubic nonlinearities. The multiple scales method is applied to derive the modulation-phase equations. Steady-state solutions of the system as well as their stability are examined. The frequency-amplitude curves exhibit the steady-state response in the directly excited and indirectly excited modes due to modal interaction. The double-jump, the saturation phenomenon, and the nonperiodic region phenomena are observed illustrating the influence of internal resonance. The validity range of the analytical approximations is assessed by comparing the analytical approximate results with a numerical solution by the Runge-Kutta method. The unstable regions in the internal resonance are explored via numerical simulations. 1. Introduction The main goal of this paper is to present an exhaustive investigation for the forced vibration of a buckled beam with quadratic and cubic nonlinearities in the equations of motion. Buckled beams play an important role in the design of machines and structures. Buckled beams have received a great deal of attention from various scholars also due to their complex nonlinear behaviors [1]. For example, the nonlinear modal interaction [2] and the internal resonance [3] are arising out of commensurable relationships of frequencies for specific values of the system parameters. Furthermore, in the presence of external excitation, the internal resonance can have possible influence on the buckled beam behavior, which needs to be studied [4]. Lacarbonara et al. [5] studied the frequency-response curves of a primary resonance of a buckled beam. The authors found that the response curves obtained using a single-mode approximation are in disagreement with those obtained by the experiment. Emam and Nayfeh [6] focused on the dynamics of a buckled beam subject to a primary-resonance excitation via the Galerkin truncation. They revealed that using a single-mode truncation leads to errors in the static and dynamic problems. Harmonic maps with potential from complete manifolds

Abstract: Harmonic maps with potential from complete manifolds are considered. This is a new kind of maps more general than the usual harmonic maps relating to many interesting problems such as equilibrium system of ferromagnetic spin chain and Neumann motion. Aiming at the general properties, the author derives basic gradient estimates and then Liouville type results for these maps, which are interesting in constrast to those of the usual harmonic maps for the presence of potentials.
