Abstract: Pine sawdust pyrolysis was carried out respectively using microwave and conventional electrical heating at different temperatures in order to understand the properties of pyrolytic products from microwave pyrolysis of biomass. Less char material was obtained by microwave pyrolysis compared to conventional heating at the same temperature. While comparing the components of the pyrolytic gases, it was revealed that the microwave pyrolysis gas usually had higher H2 and CO contents and lower CH4 and CO2 contents than those obtained by conventional pyrolysis at the same temperature. The texture analysis results of the microwave pyrolysis chars showed that the chars would melt and the pores would shrink at high temperatures, and hence, the specific surface areas of the chars decreased with increasing temperature. Similarly, the reactivity of the char was remarkably reduced when the microwave pyrolysis temperature exceeded 600°C.
Network Traffic Anomaly Detection Method Based on a Feature of Catastrophe Theory

Abstract: For the existing problems of current network traffic anomaly detection, the behavior of the network traffic anomaly will show nonlinearity, non-stationarity and complexity according to the network traffic often driven by the control of multiple factors. Owing to the characteristic that the internal evolution equation will lead to dynamical structure catastrophe, the phase space reconstruction method and the statistical physics method can be used to compute the macro feature values of the network traffic. By choosing some of the feature values which can obviously reflect the unusual change in the network traffic volume as control variables, a network traffic anomaly detection method based on the catastrophe series theory model is developed. Many experimental results show that the proposed network traffic anomaly detection method has a low false alarm rate under the same condition of detection rate.

Abstract: This study aims to understand the mechanism of bio-oil gasification and the influence of operating parameters on the properties of the gas products. Firstly, the pyrolysis/gasification of bio-oil was performed using a thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA). The evaporation of gas products from bio-oil were measured on-line with coupled Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR). The main gas products were CO, CO2, CH4, H2O, and light hydrocarbons, etc. Organics mainly evolved out at lower temperature (100-200°C), while the cracking of heavy hydrocarbon components took place at higher temperature (>200°C). Simultaneously, the gasification behavior of bio-oil was investigated in a fixed bed gasification reactor under different temperature and residence time. The gas product evolving was checked using micro-gas chromatography. It was observed that the yield of CO and H2 increased with increasing gasification temperature above 600°C, and the maximum value was obtained at 800°C. Prolonging the residence time was not favorable for the upgrading of syngas quality.
Specificity of auricular acupoints in reflecting changes of qi and blood measured by diffuse reflectance spectroscopy

Abstract: OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to assess the specificity of auricular acupoints in responding to changes of qi and blood which, in traditional Chinese medicine, are considered as the fundamental substances in the human body for sustaining normal vital activity.METHODS: A miniature fiber optic system was used to invasively measure the diffuse reflectance spectra of three auricular acupoints, namely, Uterus (TF2), Gan (CO12) and Neifenmi (CO18), at different stages of menstruation, when the female body exhibits regular changes of qi and blood. The spectra of different acupoints were compared to find their difference in responding changes of qi and blood, especially the reflectivity of absorption peaks of hemoglobin.RESULTS: The reflectivity of the same auricular acupoint during menstruation is higher than that before and after menstruation, and this trend is more obvious for the Uterus point compared with the points Gan and Neifenmi. The average reflectivity of the Uterus point during menstruation was significantly higher than that before or after menstruation (P<0.01). The D-values during and after menstruation of the Uterus point were greater than those of the points Gan and Neifenmi at 544.06 and 577.47 nm, respectively (P<0.05).CONCLUSION: The diffuse reflectance light of auricular acupoints changes as qi and blood fluctuates, and there is relative specificity among different auricular acupoints in reflecting changes of qi and blood. The Uterus point may be the most sensitive auricular acupoint in reflecting uterus function and subsequent changes of qi and blood.

Abstract: For overcoming the weakness of the population climbing evolutionary algorithm,we design a new algorithm that randomly chooses many parents from the population to recombine and the worse individuals to mutate so as to decrease the size of population, accelerate the convergence rate and improve the performance. The results of numerical experiments including seven non-linear optimization problems show that the new algorithm is characteristic of robust and high efficiency, and can quickly find the global solutions which are better than those got by MATLAB and other methods.

Abstract: The flow and thermal fields within the infrared signature suppression(IRSS) device of a marine gas turbine exhaust system were investigated numerically. For the conjugate heat transfer within the device, an integrated solution method was adopted. The discretion equation was derived for the control volume with conjugate heat transfer at its interface, with the radiation heat flux at the interface appearing as an additional source term. The solution method of velocities at the entrance of secondary flow was presented. The numerical results agreed well with corresponding experimental data, which are the basis of the prediction of infrared radiation distribution of a marine gas turbine exhaust system.
First-attack pediatric hypertensive crisis presenting to the pediatric emergency department

Abstract: This was a retrospective study conducted from 2000 to 2007 in pediatric patients aged 18 years and younger with a diagnosis of hypertensive crisis at the ED. All patients were divided into four age groups (infants, preschool age, elementary school age, and adolescents), and two severity groups (hypertensive urgency and hypertensive emergency). BP levels, etiology, severity, and clinical manifestations were analyzed by age group and compared between the hypertensive emergency and hypertensive urgency groups.The mean systolic/diastolic BP in the hypertensive crisis patients was 161/102 mmHg. The major causes of hypertensive crisis were essential hypertension, renal disorders and endocrine/metabolic disorders. Half of all patients had a single underlying cause, and 8 had a combination of underlying causes. Headache was the most common symptom (54.5%), followed by dizziness (45.5%), nausea/vomiting (36.4%) and chest pain (29.1%). A family history of hypertension was a significant predictive factor for the older patients with hypertensive crisis. Clinical manifestations and severity showed a positive correlation with age. In contrast to diastolic BP, systolic BP showed a significant trend in the older children.Primary clinicians should pay attention to the pediatric patients who present with elevated blood pressure and related clinical hypertensive symptoms, especially headache, nausea/vomiting, and altered consciousness which may indicate that appropriate and immediate antihypertensive medications are necessary to prevent further damage.It has been demonstrated that high blood pressure (BP) contributes to the early development of cardiovascular structural and functional changes in children [1,2]. A Fast Algorithm of Triangulation on 3D Surface

Abstract: Triangulation from 3D points set is one of often using ways in which 3D surface is restored. But in practice, it needs to process a huge of data, so it is time consuming. Based on the fact in 3D restoration that most sequential section contours of an object are similar to adjacent ones, a quick method on triangulation between two section contours is proposed in this paper. First, the dominant points of every contour are located, then the dominant points of two contours are matched each other, so the area between two contours is segmented into multi smaller areas. And then triangulation is performed in each small area. Because of the pre matched dominant points, a simple and quick triangulation can be applied. In this paper, the strategy of triangulation we used is:keep the proportion of the numbers of the dots not used on two curves in accordance with that of whole numbers of the dots on the two curves. Analysis by theory and experiments show that the visual effect of this algorithm is almost the same in computing with common global optimizing methods, and it spends much less time. So the algorithm is effective.
