Revista Colombiana de Entomología , 2010,
Abstract: drimys granadensis (winteraceae) is a common tree in the high-andean forests, with a system of open pollinatión by insects. in this work we identified the spiders associated with d. granadensis in relatión to the floral phenological phases and the visiting insects. we found a total of 53 mature spiders from seven families (araneidae, thetragnathidae, theridiidae, linyphiidae, thomisidae, salticidae and aniphaenidae) and 12 morphospecies. the spiders had a preference for flowers in the female and hermaphrodite phases where the dipterans were more abundant. we found a species of thwaitesia (theridiidae) foraging exudates of the stigmata. this species has an abdomen with coloratión similar to the anthers and a transparent body that helps them be imperceptible in the flowers. the camouflage is also used to hunt by a species of misumena (thomisidae), which is similar in color and form to a d. granadensis flower bud.

An Ethical Approach to the Concept of Toleration: Understanding Tolerance as a Political Virtue  [PDF]
Ivón Cepeda Mayorga
Open Journal of Philosophy (OJPP) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/ojpp.2014.44059
Abstract: The concept of toleration is commonly argued in political discourses and debates, when people refer to diversity and pluralism, as a form of respect and understanding. However, this does not represent an improvement at the moment of dealing with issues where a variety of values, conceptions and beliefs arises. In addition, even though when the idea of toleration was developed during Enlightenment, nowadays it seems to lead to a misconception of the term, following a connotation of a passive indifference about diversity. Due to this, the main objective of this text is to analyze the concept of toleration from an ethical perspective that allows thinking about it in terms of a political virtue needed to face the challenges of diversity inside society. In order to show this, the text presents an analysis of different conceptions of the term, in order to highlight the positive notion of toleration; after that, the text moves on, reviewing the idea of toleration from a hermeneutical perspective, as a form to reinforce the positive characteristics of the term, and path to solve the query between tolerance and intolerance. Finally, as a conclusion, it underlines that understanding the concept of toleration from an ethical perspective implies a praxis develop in daily circumstances.

Julio César Cepeda Ladino
Open Journal of Political Science (OJPS) , 2017, DOI: 10.4236/ojps.2017.71001
Abstract: The Pacific Rim has become a high-value geostrategic region because of the growing interdependence in its dynamics of political and economic cooperation. The international and regional cooperation systems continue their transformation since the early twenty first century, therefore it is quite relevant to be attuned with these processes. In recent years, Colombia has designed various strategies for international integration in the Asia-Pacific region within its Trans-Pacific foreign policy. It is essential for actors and interest groups to make a diagnosis to establish a forward-looking strategy to diversify the agenda of relations with this region. The purpose is to ensure a better understanding of the next transpacific cooperation schemes.
Cepeda,Gladys;
Estudios filológicos , 2006, DOI: 10.4067/S0071-17132006000100005
Abstract: within the theoretical framework of interactional sociolinguistics (gumperz 1999), face theory and politeness theory (goffman 1967 and brown and levinson 1987), this paper analyzes the positive and negative face politeness strategies used in the discourse of the medical interviewer's empathy voice, so as to preserve the patient's positive face and protect this interlocutor's negative face. the results show that the medical role of achieving the patient's participation during the clinical interview is reached by applying positive and negative politeness strategies expressed by his emphathy voice. positive politeness was marked by the control of turn taking, the use of the subjunctive mood, the imperfect past tense, address forms and modal adverbials and adjectives. negative politeness was marked by the use of indirect speech acts, modal and performative marginal modal verbs as well as by modal adverbials and adjectives
Entonación, actitud modal y modalidad
Cepeda,Gladys;
Estudios filológicos , 2002, DOI: 10.4067/S0071-17132002003700001
Abstract: language users actively engage in text and talk not only as speakers, but also as members of social categories, groups, professions, societies or cultures (van dijk 1997: 3). when we use language, we do so to produce an effect on the listener, or as a reaction to others' use of language, keeping or altering our relationship with them (labov y fanshel 1977). the signals that indicate this change in discourse are announced as discourse goes on, and their motivation is to report information as well as the evaluation of those who participate in the interaction (tadros 1985). this article provides evidence that the speaker's intention as a reflection of his identity and intentionality is observed through the use of mood and modality in the text. a representative sample of 12 adolescents and adults of both sexes and three socioeconomic groups of the city of valdivia (chile) was analized. the results show that in a semiformal interview situation, the interviewee's intention is informative, fact that is signaled by a significantly frequent use of: 1. the informative discourse genre; 2.the representative speech acts of informing; 3. the declarative modality; 4. the indicative (factive) mood; 5. emphasizing and intensifying disjunct and subjunct adverbials; 6. descriptive and evaluating adjectives; 7. the intonational reinforcement of adverbials and adjectives and the intonational non-reinforcement of verb forms. these results vary to show that the tendencies in the use of the language are correlated with the speaker's sex, age and social group. thus, many are the variables that are combined in oral interaction, establishing reciprocal relations in the use of genre, mood, and modality at morphological, syntactic, phonological, pragmatic and discourse levels in a specific situational contex.
Cepeda,Gladys;
Estudios filológicos , 2001, DOI: 10.4067/S0071-17132001003600006
Abstract: given that dialectology is more than the addition of individual descriptive studies, this article reports some of the findings in the study of the spanish spoken in the city of valdivia, based on a representative sample of semiformal interviews. the results include aspects related to: 1) the phonological processes; 2) syntactic and lexico-semantic dialectal differenciation; 3) the different levels of discourse analysis and the interpretation of its underlined meaning; 4) sociolinguistic stratification and the speaker?s identity and world view.
Cepeda,Gladys;
Estudios filológicos , 1998, DOI: 10.4067/S0071-17131998003300002
Abstract: based on the notion that: 1) the ?intonational sentence? is made up of tone units sequentially organized; 2) tone units are related to grammatical and communicative functions, an inventory of the rising movements and their related functions is presented, as they were observed in a representative corpus of valdivian spanish in a interview situation (in the south of chile). the corpus, which included subjects of three social strata, three age groups, and both sexes, was analized from a linguistic, sociolinguistic, and statistical point of view, on the basis of an auditory perceptual transcription, which was later acoustically validated according to the results obtained. the results show that rising has low, mid, and high realizations that rise stepwise or as glides. the highest frequency of use was observed in the modality of inconclusiveness: 1) with the grammatical function of a boundary marker at word, phrase, and clause level; 2) with a communicative-expressive function of inconclusiveness, suspense, deemphasis, or familiarity. the sociolinguistic analysis showed a complex set of variation and tendencies of use conditioned by the social variables of stratum, age, and sex.
Cepeda,Gladys;
Estudios filológicos , 2000, DOI: 10.4067/S0071-17132000003500001
Abstract: considering that linguistic practice involves an evaluation process on the part of the speaker with respect to the hearer, the use of the markers of mood and modality are analyzed in the spanish of the city of valdivia (chile). the corpus was taken from six semiformal interviews to representative speakers belonging of generation 2, of both sexes and three social groups. the results show that the general tendency of use in this speech situation is: the informative genre, the declarative mood, the indicative mood, speech acts of an informative intention, the emphazing adverbial disjunts of content, the style adverbial disjuncts of manner, the emphasizing, intensifying and focus subjuncts and the predicative adjectives (descriptive and evaluative) and intensifying adjectives. besides, the analysis shows the variation due to sociolinguistic conditioning that represents the speaker?s evaluation in relation to his view of the world and of himself.
EL COMPORTAMIENTO DEL CONSUMIDOR DE CINE: UNA REVISIóN PRELIMINAR DE LA LITERATURA
Adriana Cepeda
