ASSESSING OF THE RESEARCH OUTPUT USING HIRSCH INDEX IN THE CHEMISTRY GROUP FROM VALAHIA UNIVERSITY OF TARGOVISTE
SILVIU JIPA,LAURA MONICA GORGHIU,CRINELA DUMITRESCU,CALIN OROS
Journal of Science and Arts , 2011,
Abstract: The evaluation of the scientific activity of individual and institutional research outputs has long attracted significant interest. The scientific performances of the Faculty of Sciences and Arts in the Valahia University of Targoviste were analyzed using different scientometric indicators (number of published papers, influence score, impact factor, Hirsch index a.s.o). For Hirsch determination different databases has been used (Advanced Google, Scholar, Scopus, ISI Web of Science, Google Academic). A remarkable finding was the outstanding performance in basic sciences where high level research has been evidenced.
NEW METRICS FOR RESEARCH OUTPUTS FROM THE CHEMISTRY DEPARTMENT IN VALAHIA UNIVERSITY OF TARGOVISTE
SILVIU JIPA,LAURA MONICA GORGHIU,CRINELA DUMITRESCU,CALIN OROS
Journal of Science and Arts , 2012,
Abstract: This article presents a further study related to the analysis of the scientific performance obtained by the Chemistry Department members from Valahia University using different scientometric indicators described in the scientific literature, including Hirsch index, selectivity and amplitude. The paper also contains the description of the method for calculating the Hirsch-index dependence on the Chemistry Department member’s research age, determined from the publication of their first scientific paper. Some results concerning the h-index normalization by a factor that reflects the average number of co-authors are also included.
THE INFLUENCE OF LASER RADIATION ON MAGNETIC PROPERTIES OF METALS

Journal of Science and Arts , 2010,
Abstract: The problem of reducing power losses in electrical plates of Fe-Si, the strict current world is very complex, requiring a thorough knowledge of material structure and linked to it, the configuration of magnetic fields that is structured. This work aims at highlighting the influence laser radiation has on hysteresis losses in Fe-Si sheet plates, and the explanation of differences between the irradiated and non-irradiated sheets. Comparative measurements were carried out between two identical sheets, 300x30x0,5mm, for frequency and induction of magnetic field between 10Hz and 1000Hz, respectively between 100mT and 2100mT. It was noted in both sheets an increase of frequency of active power and apparent power consumption and coercive field intensity and for a fixed frequency was an increase of hysteresis curve area of irradiated sheets. Qualitative and quantitative interpretation of these results was done taking into account the microscopic structure of ferromagnetic materials (sheets of Fe-Si), in the sense that laser radiation increases the degree of fragmentation of Weiss domains, so the number of Bloch walls separating these areas and, also, the number of atoms (magnetic dipoles) inside these walls.
RANKING CHEMISTRY JOURNALS USING THE HIRSCH INDEX AND ARTICLE INFLUENCE SCORE
SILVIU JIPA,LAURA MONICA GORGHIU,CRINELA DUMITRESCU,CALIN OROS
Journal of Science and Arts , 2012,
Abstract: This study presents the Hirsch-index, impact factor and article influence score for the ranking of Chemistry journals. The study concludes that the Hirsch-index exhibits a good correlation with the influence score. A correlation of 60 Chemistry journals is analyzed.
ACADEMIC CHEMISTRY IN ROMANIA – SOME SCIENTIFIC RESULTS
SILVIU JIPA,LAURA MONICA GORGHIU,CRINELA DUMITRESCU,CALIN OROS
Journal of Science and Arts , 2013,
Abstract: The paper analyzes a series of bibliometric indicators related to the research performance of Chemistry professors in different Romanian universities. The total number of ISI papers, total number of citations, number of citations per paper, number of citations per year and Hirsch indices have been used to evaluate their research output. The individual professor’s Hirsch-index linearly depends on the scientometric indicators of the journal in “h-core”, namely the impact factor, influence score and the journal’s Hirsch-index.
APPLYING NEW SCIENTOMETRIC INDICATORS TO EVALUATE THE SCIENTIFIC PERFORMANCE OF CHEMISTRY GROUP FROM VALACHIA UNIVERSITY OF TARGOVISTE
SILVIU JIPA,LAURA MONICA GORGHIU,CRINELA DUMITRESCU,CALIN OROS
Journal of Science and Arts , 2011,
Abstract: The paper describes different new indicators measuring research output by application to Chemistry Department of the Faculty of Sciences and Arts from Valahia University of Targoviste. We have also analyzed the Hirsch indices calculated with different relations proposed in literature. We have compared the data obtained in our study with the results of other studies done in other universities and circumstances.

Journal of Science and Arts , 2012,
Abstract: The current paper uses bibliometric data to investigate the research performance of the Chemistry Group from the Faculty of Sciences and Arts in Valahia University of Targoviste. The analyses are based on the Web of Science database. We present the research output such as the number of scientific papers and the citation impact as well as the Hirsch (h) and g indices. In addition, in this paper, we have applied new indices to characterize the scientific productivity of the researchers.
Stereospecific Degradation of Diastereomers by Plant Associated Bacteria Influences the Antifungal Performance of Dodemorph  [PDF]
Gyula Oros
Journal of Agricultural Chemistry and Environment (JACEN) , 2018, DOI: 10.4236/jacen.2018.71002
Abstract: Morpholine fungcides have certain antibacterial side effect, dodemorph being the most active among them. The diequatorial (cis-)?form of dodemorph expressed higher antibacterial activity than the axial-equatorial (trans-)?form, and no synergy in their joint action could be revealed in this respect. Moreover, the partition of diastereomers between cells and medium strictly correlated to their toxicity.Considerable differences were detected among degradation rates in various bacteria, and the?meso-(RS)-diastereomer was deteriorated more intensively, then the?trans-(SS?and?RR)-forms in?Corynebacteriumbetae,?Erwinia uredovora?and?Pseudomonasfluorescens. As a result, the stereospecific degradation of diastereomers changed their ratio in the medium, thus this metabolic step could?influence the antifungal performance of dodemorph based preparations against
The Lecture in Teaching Religious Education
Mihaela Oros
Journal of Didactics , 2011,
Abstract: The renewal of expository methods is as necessary as it is possible. Parallel with the rising of the scientific level, of explanations, of expositions, the specialists’ attention should be directed to capitalize methods already known processes, along with introducing into practice alongside classical forms (storytelling, description, explanation, lecture) new expositive methods such as: exposure to the opponent, enhanced lecture, lecture-discussion, conference-debate etc. Any form exposure we use, its effectiveness depends on the communication skills (clarity, accuracy, confidence) and our audience’s activity. The purpose is to form an active audience, a spontaneous responsiveness; therefore an essential role is of those processes that increase the force of a logically supported communication.
