Quasinormal modes of d-dimensional spherical black holes with a near extreme cosmological constant
C. Molina
Physics , 2003, DOI: 10.1103/PhysRevD.68.064007
Abstract: We derive an expression for the quasinormal modes of scalar perturbations in near extreme d-dimensional Schwarzschild-de Sitter and Reissner-Nordstrom-de Sitter black holes. We show that, in the near extreme limit, the dynamics of the scalar field is characterized by a Poschl-Teller effective potential. The results are qualitatively independent of the spacetime dimension and field mass.
Identidad regional en Magallanes, sus expresiones simbólicas y territoriales
MOLINA C,WALTER;
Magallania (Punta Arenas) , 2011, DOI: 10.4067/S0718-22442011000100003
Abstract: this article presents the most notable results from a quantitative study directed to explore and describe the regional identity perceived by the inhabitants of the region ‘magallanes y antártica chilena’, from the design and application of a survey of regional identity carried out during the second semester of the year 2009. among the most outstanding conclusions of the study we find the clear awareness expressed by people of belonging to a regional group with own characteristics (86,2%). this sense of belonging is high in all the provinces of the region, reaching up to 91% in the province of ‘última esperanza’ (puerto natales). on the other hand, some of the territorial and symbolic elements appreciated by the people of the magallanes region are: the positive appreciation of the family life, safety and tranquility of the region, the riches of its fora and fauna, among others highlighted aspects. this has a relation with what from the theoretical point of view is stated about a regional identity, that is to say, that this emerges when the people feel deep and emotionally linked to a territory, its history, traditions, landscapes and all those cultural expressions which provide singularity to a region or locality (amtmann, 1997).
Identidad regional en Magallanes, sus expresiones simbólicas y territoriales Regional identity in Magallanes, its symbolic and territorial expressions

Magallania , 2011,
Abstract: The stays of both Carmen de Burgos and Ramon Gomez de la Serna in Naples are discussed. Her friendship with Matilde Serao, and the works of both writers related to this city and to its history and more especially the novel written by the authoress, El Misericordia (He, the Mercy).
Desarrollo puberal normal: Pubertad precoz
Temboury Molina,M.C.;
Pediatría Atención Primaria , 2009, DOI: 10.4321/S1139-76322009000600002
Abstract: puberty refers to the final stage of children's growth and development in which adult height, reproductive and psychosocial maturity are reached. it is initiated in the central nervous system by neuroendocrine factors (under genetic control and environmental influence) that activate the hypothalamic- pituitary-gonadal axis and its regulatory mechanisms. precocious puberty is defined as the progressive onset of pubertal signs at an age more than 2.5 sd below the mean of a population. it may be gonadotropin-dependent (central) or gonadotropin-independent (peripheral). most of the cases are idiopathic, but occasionally the cause may be an underlying organic disease with variable severity. treatment is recommended because of the negative effects it may have on the child's development.
Σφραγι (sfragís) and its metaphorical testimonial presence in 2 Timothy 2:19
C Molina, E van Eck
HTS Theological Studies/Teologiese Studies , 2011,
Abstract: This article presented a metaphorical testimonial approach in the interpretation of 2 Timothy 2:19 and the use of sealing. As starting point, attention was given to the concept of ‘seal’ through the Old Testament and Ancient Near East. These periods attest the fact that sealing was also utilised in a figurative way as a sign of ownership, property and authenticity. Σφραγι in 2 Timothy 2:19 describes the intimate relationship between Christ and his followers through the terms γιν σκω [personal and vital relationship that transcends in practice] and ναγιν σκω [mainly an exterior knowledge]. These two vocables are in opposition to δικ α [to apostate from]. The message expressed in 2:19 exemplifies the principles that Christ lived by and he empowered his followers to stand by. Σφραγι in 2 Timothy 2:19 is an imitatio Christi response against the δικ α of moral standards and entertainment in the ancient Roman world. It includes a rapid contemporary reflection on practical faithfulness for today’s life.
The ringing wormholes
R. A. Konoplya,C. Molina
Physics , 2005, DOI: 10.1103/PhysRevD.71.124009
Abstract: We investigate the response of the traversable wormholes to the external perturbations through finding their characteristic frequencies and time-domain profiles. The considered solution describes traversable wormholes between the branes in the two brane Randall-Sundrum model and was previously found within Einstein gravity with a conformally coupled scalar field. The evolution of perturbations of a wormhole is similar to that of a black hole and represents damped oscillations (ringing) at intermediately late times, which are suppressed by power law tails (proportional to t^{-2} for monopole perturbations) at asymptotically late times.
Black holes and wormholes in AdS branes
C. Molina,J. C. S. Neves
Physics , 2010, DOI: 10.1103/PhysRevD.82.044029
Abstract: In this work we have derived a class of geometries which describe black holes and wormholes in Randall-Sundrum-type brane models, focusing mainly on asymptotically anti-de Sitter backgrounds. We show that by continuously deforming the usual four dimensional vacuum background, a specific family of solutions is obtained. Maximal extensions of the solutions are presented, and their causal structures are discussed.
Wormholes in de Sitter branes

Physics , 2012, DOI: 10.1103/PhysRevD.86.024015
Abstract: In this work we present a class of geometries which describes wormholes in a Randall-Sundrum brane model, focusing on de Sitter backgrounds. Maximal extensions of the solutions are constructed and their causal structures are discussed. A perturbative analysis is developed, where matter and gravitational perturbations are studied. Analytical results for the quasinormal spectra are obtained and an extensive numerical survey is conducted. Our results indicate that the wormhole geometries presented are stable.
Rotating black holes in a Randall-Sundrum brane with a cosmological constant
J. C. S. Neves,C. Molina
Physics , 2012, DOI: 10.1103/PhysRevD.86.124047
Abstract: In this work we have constructed axially symmetric vacuum solutions of the gravitational field equations in a Randall-Sundrum brane. A non-null effective cosmological constant is considered, and asymptotically de Sitter and anti-de Sitter spacetimes are obtained. The solutions describe rotating black holes in a four-dimensional brane. Optical features of the solutions are treated, emphasizing the rotation of the polarization vector along null congruences.
