Abstract: During the calibration phase of the photomultiplier tubes (PMT) for the Double Chooz experiment the PMT response to light with single photoelectron (SPE) intensity was analysed. With our setup we were able to measure the combined transit time and charge response of the PMT and therefore we could deconstruct and analyse all physical effects having an influence on the PMT signal. Based on this analysis charge and time correlated probability density functions were developed to include the PMT response in a Monte Carlo simulation.

Abstract: The hemispherical 10" photomultiplier tube (PMT) R7081 from Hamamatsu Photonics K.K. (HPK) is used in various experiments in particle and astroparticle physics. We describe the test and calibration of 474 PMTs for the reactor antineutrino experiment Double Chooz. The unique test setup at Max-Planck-Institut f\"ur Kernphysik Heidelberg (MPIK) allows one to calibrate 30 PMTs simultaneously and to characterize the single photo electron response, transit time spread, linear behaviour and saturation effects, photon detection efficiency and high voltage calibration.

Abstract: We present the results of afterpulse measurements performed as qualification test for 473 inner detector photomultipliers of the Double Chooz experiment. The measurements include the determination of a total afterpulse occurrence probability as well as an average time distribution of these pulses. Additionally, more detailed measurements with different light sources and simultaneous charge and timing measurements were performed with a few photomultipliers to allow a more detailed understanding of the effect. The results of all measurements are presented and discussed.

Abstract: Double Chooz is unique among modern reactor-based neutrino experiments studying $\bar \nu_e$ disappearance in that data can be collected with all reactors off. In this paper, we present data from 7.53 days of reactor-off running. Applying the same selection criteria as used in the Double Chooz reactor-on oscillation analysis, a measured background rate of 1.0$\pm$0.4 events/day is obtained. The background model for accidentals, cosmogenic $\beta$-$n$-emitting isotopes, fast neutrons from cosmic muons, and stopped-$\mu$ decays used in the oscillation analysis is demonstrated to be correct within the uncertainties. Kinematic distributions of the events, which are dominantly cosmic-ray-produced correlated-background events, are provided. The background rates are scaled to the shielding depths of two other reactor-based oscillation experiments, Daya Bay and RENO.

Abstract: The Double Chooz experiment has determined the value of the neutrino oscillation parameter $\theta_{13}$ from an analysis of inverse beta decay interactions with neutron capture on hydrogen. This analysis uses a three times larger fiducial volume than the standard Double Chooz assessment, which is restricted to a region doped with gadolinium (Gd), yielding an exposure of 113.1 GW-ton-years. The data sample used in this analysis is distinct from that of the Gd analysis, and the systematic uncertainties are also largely independent, with some exceptions, such as the reactor neutrino flux prediction. A combined rate- and energy-dependent fit finds $\sin^2 2\theta_{13}=0.097\pm 0.034(stat.) \pm 0.034 (syst.)$, excluding the no-oscillation hypothesis at 2.0 \sigma. This result is consistent with previous measurements of $\sin^2 2\theta_{13}$.

Abstract: The Double Chooz experiment has observed 8,249 candidate electron antineutrino events in 227.93 live days with 33.71 GW-ton-years (reactor power x detector mass x livetime) exposure using a 10.3 cubic meter fiducial volume detector located at 1050 m from the reactor cores of the Chooz nuclear power plant in France. The expectation in case of theta13 = 0 is 8,937 events. The deficit is interpreted as evidence of electron antineutrino disappearance. From a rate plus spectral shape analysis we find sin^2 2{\theta}13 = 0.109 \pm 0.030(stat) \pm 0.025(syst). The data exclude the no-oscillation hypothesis at 99.8% CL (2.9{\sigma}).

Abstract: The Double Chooz Experiment presents an indication of reactor electron antineutrino disappearance consistent with neutrino oscillations. A ratio of 0.944 $\pm$ 0.016 (stat) $\pm$ 0.040 (syst) observed to predicted events was obtained in 101 days of running at the Chooz Nuclear Power Plant in France, with two 4.25 GW$_{th}$ reactors. The results were obtained from a single 10 m$^3$ fiducial volume detector located 1050 m from the two reactor cores. The reactor antineutrino flux prediction used the Bugey4 measurement as an anchor point. The deficit can be interpreted as an indication of a non-zero value of the still unmeasured neutrino mixing parameter \sang. Analyzing both the rate of the prompt positrons and their energy spectrum we find \sang = 0.086 $\pm$ 0.041 (stat) $\pm$ 0.030 (syst), or, at 90% CL, 0.015 $<$ \sang $\ <$ 0.16.

Abstract: Розглянуто вплив випаровуваност альтернативних палив на р шення проблеми холодного пуску двигуна за рахунок використання пропан-бутаново сум ш для п двищення тиску насичено пари. Volatility fuels fraction of the estimated parameters and letkosti. Volatility characterizes the ability to switch fuels in vaporous state. Selecting indicators to assess the volatility depends on the chemical composition of fuel. The main measure letkosti etanolnogo fuel is vapor pressure. The most simple and cost-effective to improve cold start is putting in fuel lehkoletyuchyh components: butane, izopentanu, gas and other petroleum. It was investigated the influence of DEE on alcohol-gasoline blend, the results show that DEE positive impact on increasing vapor pressure to the desired minimum for starting the engine. But because the ether to 19%, then at such high levels can actively formed peroxide compounds, which is undesirable. Very promising is the use of propane-butane gas mixture as lehkoletyuchoyi gaseous component. Butanizovani spirit-petrol mixture can be recommended for use as alternative fuel vehicles after further study of their stability and himmotolohichnyh characteristics. Автомобильные бензины и альтернативные биологические топлива на основе этанола преимущественно предназначены для применения в двигателях внутреннего сгорания. При использовании альтернативного биологического топлива, особенно этанольного, возникает проблема недостаточной испаряемости бензина при низкой температуре, в результате чего в холодное время года двигатель может не запуститься. Пусковые свойства бензина зависят от содержания в них летучих фракций или летучих соединений. Проблему холодного запуска предлагается решать за счет использования пропан-бутановой смеси для повышения давления насыщенного пара. Для перспективного применения газов пропан-бутановой смеси легколетучего газообразного компонента необходимы дальнейшие исследования стабилизации такой композиции.

Abstract: The factors having an effect on the system of air transport in the Republic of Lithuania in connection with Lithuania’s membership in the European Union are discussed. The structure of the system of air transport of the country is presented, an analysis of the current situation and a strategic analysis of the development of the system is made, and the measures addressed at the long-range perspective are proposed.
