M. Crovetto,J. A. Márquez,C. Ere o,J. Elexpuru,R. Crovetto,A. Martinez
Case Reports in Otolaryngology , 2011, DOI: 10.1155/2011/191852
Abstract: We describe a case of temporal granulocytic sarcoma in a 26-year-old patient after apparent molecular remission of an acute myeloid leukaemia. He complained of otodynia with hearing loss and facial paralysis on the right side. He was treated with chemotherapy and self-transplant haematopoietic stem cells. He was cured clinically, molecular remission of the haematological processes was achieved, and he remained asymptomatic for three years. Facial paralysis and hearing loss associated with temporal GS should be treated with chemotherapy. Aggressive surgery may complicate the clinical course of the disease and it should be avoided.

Extreme Wind Characteristics of Coastal Communities in Bayelsa State: Implications for Community Planning and Development in Nigeria  [PDF]
Vincent Ezikornwor Weli, Jimmy O. Adegoke, Douye Pere-Ere Wodu
Atmospheric and Climate Sciences (ACS) , 2016, DOI: 10.4236/acs.2016.62016
Abstract: The study examined extreme wind characteristics of the coastal communities in Bayelsa State, Nigeria for possible community planning and development. To achieve this aim, data on wind speed were sourced from the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET). Personal interview and focused group discussions were done with the aid of well structured questionnaire in the various coastal communities sampled to identify impact and coping strategies from extreme winds. The Beaufort Winds Scale and regression analysis were the statistical tools used for the analysis of the data in order to achieve the objectives of the study. The results indicate that, the return period to obtain maximum 1-year wind speed value of 29.3 m/s (violent storm), 27.8 m/s (storm), 24.3 m/s (strong Gale) and 20.6 m/s (fresh Gale) will be 17 years, 5.7 years, 2.8 years and 1.4 years respectively. Fresh Gale characterized the extreme wind events in the area. Result further showed that out of 19 occurrences of wind events, 11 were extreme cases, while 2 occurred as violent storm of 29.3 m/s. Findings also showed that extreme winds occurred more (8 cases) during the early part (March-April) of the raining season when the area is under the influence of maritime moisture laden air mass than the dry season which is dried and dusty. Using a combination of return period of the magnitude of extreme wind and the log of wind speed for the 16 years a model predicting the incidence of extreme wind was done. Awareness on the dangers of wind hazard increases while early warning systems are advocated to mitigate the associated dangers with extreme wind events in the study area.
Procedimiento para el equilibrado continuo de obras y construcciones

Informes de la Construccion , 1992,
Abstract: This new procedure allows not only balancing the portion of a work as it is built but also doing this operation once the work has been finished and it is in full use. Basically, the procedure consists of pre-tautening the foundations on which the load of the structure is going to be supported and keeping added to the reckoned load the ones received by each support without bearing in mind either any ground alteration or the load distribution within the building. In order to achieve this, we have taken the necessary steps, a summary of which is shown below.
Impact of Flooding on Wheel Shafts and Wheel Bearings in Abraka, and Way Forward  [PDF]
Famous Ozabor, Douye Pere-Ere Wodu
Journal of Geoscience and Environment Protection (GEP) , 2016, DOI: 10.4236/gep.2016.47013
Abstract: This study aimed at examining the impact of flooding on wheel-bearings and wheel-shaft in Abraka. The empirical and survey research designs were employed for the study. 42 checklists were dropped at the various mechanic workshops to collect data on the number of wheel-shaft and wheel-bearing changed weekly for five years and flood depths were measured for a period of five years. The simple linear regression was employed for data analysis. Findings include that: when the flood depth is at 0.10 feet in January the number of wheel-shaft and wheel-bearings changed is 396 and 220 pcs respectively. When flood depth is at 4.57 feet in August 3749 shafts and 1451 bearings were changed respectively. The regressions analysis showed that the relationship between wheel-shaft and flooding was r = 0.64, and the model was significant at p (0.00) < 0.05. Similarly, regressions analysis showed that the relationship between wheel-bearing and flooding was r = 0.62, and the model was significant at p (0.00) < 0.05. It therefore follows that impairment of wheel-shaft and wheel-bearing significantly depends on flooding events in Abraka. The following recommendations were made: construction of street side channels to drain of flood from the streets; checking the shafts and wheels hubs at regular intervals and re-grease when necessary etc.

Abstract: In our contribution, we try to fill up the content of gender concept in thecontext of acceptation of dichotomy instrumentality versus expresivity. We focus onspecific cognitive variables and their potential to saturate typically (stereotypically)defined characteristics of masculinity and femininity. We were thinking of optimalcombination of masculine and feminine features in relation with cognitive structuringof information affecting on humans, their need and ability to settle up with permanentinformation agency.
Estimación de costes ambientales derivados del corredor La Salve-Ibarrekolanda. Bilbao-Espa a

Informes de la Construccion , 1993,
Abstract: This paper summarizes the Information on two alternative routes for a highway between the ''La Salve'' Bridge and Ibarrekolanda (Bilbao) in order to assess and compare the environmental costs. The first alternative would involve passing a high-speed road through a densely populated area whereas the second would have more characteristics of a ring road. As expected, the second alternative, which bypasses the built-up areas, would have less impact and lower environmental costs for the inhabitants of the area, not only during construction but also when the road is opened to traffic. In this alternative, the road would run along a steep slope which constitutes one side of the valley. Since the slope is already environmentally degraded and has no significant natural, agricultural or cultural value, important environment costs would not be incurred by locating the road there. Furthermore, this alternative would make it much easier to minimize undesirable effects.

Abstract: The double beta decay of 100Mo to the 0^+_1 and 2^+_1 excited states of 100Ru is studied using the NEMO 3 data. After the analysis of 8024 h of data the half-life for the two-neutrino double beta decay of 100Mo to the excited 0^+_1 state is measured to be T^(2nu)_1/2 = [5.7^{+1.3}_{-0.9}(stat)+/-0.8(syst)]x 10^20 y. The signal-to-background ratio is equal to 3. Information about energy and angular distributions of emitted electrons is also obtained. No evidence for neutrinoless double beta decay to the excited 0^+_1 state has been found. The corresponding half-life limit is T^(0nu)_1/2(0^+ --> 0^+_1) > 8.9 x 10^22 y (at 90% C.L.). The search for the double beta decay to the 2^+_1 excited state has allowed the determination of limits on the half-life for the two neutrino mode T^(2nu)_1/2(0^+ --> 2^+_1) > 1.1 x 10^21 y (at 90% C.L.) and for the neutrinoless mode T^(0nu)_1/2(0^+ --> 2^+_1) > 1.6 x 10^23 y (at 90% C.L.).
