The embryonic blood–CSF barrier has molecular elements for specific glucose transport and for the general transport of molecules via transcellular routes  [PDF]

Advances in Bioscience and Biotechnology (ABB) , 2010, DOI: 10.4236/abb.2010.14041
Abstract: In vertebrates, early brain development takes place at the expanded anterior end of the neural tube, which is filled with embryonic cerebrospinal fluid (E-CSF). We have recently identified a transient blood–CSF barrier that forms between embryonic days E3 and E4 in chick embryos and that is responsible for the transport of proteins and control of E-CSF homeostasis, including osmolarity. Here we examined the presence of glucose transporter GLUT-1 as well the presence of caveolae-structural protein Caveolin1 (CAV-1) in the embryonic blood-CSF barrier which may be involved in the transport of glucose and of proteins, water and ions respectively across the neuroectoderm. In this paper we demonstrate the presence of GLUT-1 and CAV-1 in endothelial cells of blood vessels as well as in adjacent neuroectodermal cells, located in the embryonic blood–CSF barrier. In blood vessels, these proteins were detected as early as E4 in chick embryos and E12.7 in rat embryos, i.e. the point at which the embryonic blood–CSF barrier acquires this function. In the neuroectoderm of the embryonic blood-CSF barrier, GLUT-1 was also detected at E4 and E12.7 respectively, and CAV-1 was detected shortly thereafter in both experimental models. These experiments contribute to delineating the extent to which the blood–CSF embryonic barrier controls E-CSF composition and homeostasis during early stages of brain development in avians and mammals. Our results suggest the regulation of glucose transport to the E-CSF by means of GLUT-1 and also suggest a mechanism by which proteins are transported via transcellular routes across the neuroectoderm, thus reinforcing the crucial role of E-CSF in brain development.
Minimal Repair Redundancy for Coherent Systemin its Signatures Representation  [PDF]
Vanderlei da Costa Bueno
American Journal of Operations Research (AJOR) , 2011, DOI: 10.4236/ajor.2011.11002
Abstract: In this paper we discuss how to maintain the signature representation of a coherent system through a minimal repair redundancy. In a martingale framework we use compensator transforms to identify how the components minimal repairs affect the order statistics in the signature representation.
A Coherent System Component Importance under Its Signatures Representation  [PDF]
Vanderlei da Costa Bueno
American Journal of Operations Research (AJOR) , 2011, DOI: 10.4236/ajor.2011.13019
Abstract: In this paper we discuss how to measure the component importance for a system in its signature representation. The definition is given in terms of compensator transform and it can be considered as a new formalization of the ideas presented by Bergman [1] in the context of system signature.
Reliability Measure of a Relay Parallel System under Dependence Conditions  [PDF]
Vanderlei da Costa Bueno
American Journal of Operations Research (AJOR) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/ajor.2013.31A009
Abstract:

In a relay system of dependent components, the failure to close reliability measure is given as a Girsanov transform of the failure to open reliability measure.

Standby Redundancy Allocation for a Coherent System under Its Signature Point Process Representation  [PDF]

American Journal of Operations Research (AJOR) , 2016, DOI: 10.4236/ajor.2016.66045
Abstract: Willing to work in reliability theory in a general set up, under stochastically dependence conditions, we intend to characterize a not identically spare standby redundancy operation through compensator transform under a complete information level, the physic approach, that is, observing its component lifetime. We intend to optimize system reliability under standby redundancy allocation of its components, particularly, under minimal standby redundancy. To get results, we will use a coherent system representation through a signature point process.

Bueno, Marcos;
Fractal : Revista de Psicologia , 2012, DOI: 10.1590/S1984-02922012000200014
Abstract: the book escrita e leitura is a literature review of the resulting theory nietzschean death of god in light of modernity. text produced accurately states that literature is a form of resistance to domination and subtle mechanisms sort of language. the author reports the analysis of literary experience and its connection with the production of subjectivity in the writing and reading. rescuing foucault when he states that a literary work requires three appearances: the writer who produces, which publishes the author and the reader who interprets the text within double subjectivity, the author and the reader.
A democracia e seus fundamentos em Norberto Bobbio
Bueno,Roberto;
Eidos , 2010,

Bueno, Luciana;
Ciência e Tecnologia de Alimentos , 2008, DOI: 10.1590/S0101-20612008000500020
Abstract: the nutritional therapy with enteral diets has had a major development in the past few years. the aim of this work is to study the effect of the enteral diet formulations components such as fiber, calcium, and medium-chain triglycerides, seeking in order to optimize a formulation for iron, magnesium, and zinc dialysability using the response surface methodology. according to the result, the best enteral diet formulation optimized based on mineral dialysability was the one containing 32,5% of tcm, 32,5% of fiber, and 35% of calcium. it proved the best enteral diet formulation for the availability of iron, magnesium, and zinc.
Estrategias quirúrgicas en el intestino corto
Bueno,J.;
Nutrición Hospitalaria , 2007,
Abstract: management of short bowel syndrome has to be undertaken by a multidisciplinary team including gastroenterology, surgery, and nutrition, among other specialties. the final therapeutic goal is favoring intestinal adaptation by the bowel so that the patient may be weaned from parenteral nutrition. anatomical factors influencing on adaptation are very important for deciding the best surgical option. the type of procedure will defined by age, length and functionality of the remnant bowel, the existence of intestinal dilation, the presence of bacterial overgrowth, and the presence or absence of parenteral nutrition-related complications, among others. early closure of the stomas, if present, and correction of stenoses, if possible with stricturoplasties and with remodeling or intestinal plicature if needed, are among the basic principles of surgical management. interventions aimed at decreasing the transit time such as the creation of valves, interposition of anti-peristaltic segments or large bowel are poorly accepted. the most accepted techniques are those elongating the bowel that may be applied only on dilated bowels. although experience is greater with bianchi's technique, short-term outcomes of serial transversal enteroplasty (step) are promising. step is simpler and may be applied even to previously elongated bowels by the bianchi's technique.
