Background: Obstetrics injuries can be defined as fetal lesions suffered by the fetus during labor or expulsion. Objective: Identify risk factors for fetal birth trauma. Method: Case-control study conducted from July 2004 to December 2005. We analyzed maternal and fetal variables using software SPSS 19.0. The variables showing a significance level <0.10 in the bivariate analysis were included in the logistic regression analysis. We used the block entry model for selection of the final regression model. Results: During these period, we identified 2137 births and 26 (1.2%) were related to fetal birth injury. Clavicle fracture was the most frequent injury (n = 14; 53.8%), followed by cephalohematoma (n = 5; 19.2%). Umbilical cord blood gas analysis did not show statistical significance. In the regression analysis of the variables that had significance level <0.10, the only independent variables associated with fetal birth injury were vaginal delivery (OR-A: 11.08; 95%CI: 2.45-49.98; p=0.002) and thorax circumference > 33 cm (OR-A: 3.36; 95%CI: 1.35-9.73; p=0.010). Conclusion: The risk factors f

Breno Bringel
Eccos Revista Científica , 2009,
Abstract: Durante o ano de 2008, multiplicaram-se, em todo o mundo, as reflex es sobre as lutas estudantis motivadas pelo 40o aniversário do Maio de 1968.
ADVERGAMING E ADVERGAMES: A PROPAGANDA ATRAVéS DOS JOGOS
Breno Giovanni
Revista PRETEXTO , 2006,
Les Sans terre du Brésil, l'activisme transnational et la souveraineté alimentaire comme alternative à la faim (The Landless of Brazil, Transnational Activism and Food Security as an Alternative to Hunger)
Breno Bringel
Ceriscope , 2012,
Il analyse notamment le concept de souveraineté alimentaire, sa viabilité et sa visibilité rendue possible par l'internationalisation croissante des mouvements sociaux paysans, principaux acteurs dans ce processus.(The past two decades have witnessed a growing public debate over poverty, which has led to new definitions and political and social constructs. This article considers the geopolitical dimension of poverty and the development of and resistance to alternative programs. It analyzes in particular the notion of food security (a nation’s sovereignty over its sources of food), which has gained prominence thanks to rural social movements, the key players in this area).
Sampaio, Breno;Sampaio, Yony;
Economia Aplicada , 2007, DOI: 10.1590/S1413-80502007000300003
Abstract: sanitation services present severe losses and serves only 31% of brazilian homes. dea efficiency models for water supply and sewage collection and treatment with 4 inputs and 8 outputs are estimated. water systems are more efficient than the sewage ones. regression analysis explains efficiency by operational, geographical and political variables. companies located in the south are positively affected while those in the north and center-west are negatively affected. efficiency is positively affected by administrative continuity and coincidence of political parties at a municipal and state level.
Onetto Mu?oz,Breno;
Estudios filológicos , 2004, DOI: 10.4067/S0071-17132004003900012
Abstract: the author gives a brief outlook of the essential bases of concrete poetry and of the founder of this school, eugen gomringer, by standing out the linguistic conception of this tendency of the 50's. in connection with this poetic conception, that seems to lower poetry from its traditional poetic richness, the author is skeptic because it would just turn it into a mere functional product or object for the publicity world.
Holderbaum,Breno Storino;
Estudios y perspectivas en turismo , 2010,
Abstract: the article proposes an analysis of the interrelation between the regional climate changes. at first, some indicators of climate change such as average annual temperature, rainfall, frequency of extreme climatic events, maxima and minimum average temperature were taken into account. then, in order to establish an interrelation between these indications and tourism in southern brazil two tourist micro regions were chosen where there is a close relation between tourism and climate: the mountain range of the state of rio grande do sul and the tourist region of the coast of the state of santa catarina, which are two good examples to illustrate the way the actual climate change can affect tourism.
Bringel, Breno;Echart, Enara;
Caderno CRH , 2008, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-49792008000300004
Abstract: democracy has evolved historically through intense social struggles and, frequently, it was also sacrificed in many of those struggles. not always social movements promote democracy, but there is a contemporary tendency that many of them incorporate a renewed dimension of the democratic struggle, contributing to the ressignification of the practices and democratic theories at the beginning of this century. this paper intends to go beyond the unidirectional analyses with which the relations between social movements and democracy were treated in the democratic transitions, with the objective of questioning and enlarging the possible theoretical articulations between democracy and social subjects, taking as reference the existence of four "borders" that a lot of times are not overcome: the science one, the nation-state one, the institutional one and the historical moment one.
