Desafios para a implanta??o da Educa??o Integral: análise das experiências desenvolvidas na regi?o sul do Brasil
Branco, Veronica;
Educar em Revista , 2012, DOI: 10.1590/S0104-40602012000300008
Abstract: this text is about the perception of municipal administration, pedagogical coordinators and parents of students about the challenges to introduce the whole education or the increasing of time of scholar journey in experiences developed in cities of the south region of brazil: apucarana, joinville and porto alegre. these experiences are part of a research made by the federal universities: ufmg, unirio, ufpr and unb, with the purpose of mapping experiences of increased scholar journeys in process in brazil, in the year of 2008 - quantitative study. in 2009 and 2010 there was the continuation of that research, then as a qualitative study. in the part of the qualitative study there were chosen twenty-one experiences from the whole country to be followed and documented in their place. in the south region three experiences were selected, one from each state of the region. in this phase the data was collected in interviews with the related people, whose analyses compose this text and point as main challenges/difficulties to establish the increasing time of scholar journey in the initial and continuous forming of teachers and the integration of monitors and new actors in the group of scholar tasks. beyond these, it appears, strongly marked in the ideas of the interviewed people, the conception that the whole education is a right of the families, and not of the students, and also a kind of school dedicated to the students whose families are poor and can't take care of their children.

A lei autoral brasileira como elemento de restri??o à eficácia do direito humano à educa??o
Branco, Sergio;
Sur. Revista Internacional de Direitos Humanos , 2007, DOI: 10.1590/S1806-64452007000100007
Abstract: throughout the 20th century, the development of new technologies gradually narrowed the distance between man, cultural work and intellectual property; this peaked with the advent of the internet in the mid-90s. access to works from all over the world has enormously increased the possibilities of disseminating knowledge and the materials for education and, at the very least, has also helped form a global community. nevertheless, the owners of intellectual property copyrights, brands, patents may not use them indiscriminately. therefore, in general terms, what i propose to analyze in this article is how the current copyright structure and the improper use of technology poses a serious threat to the implementation of the human right to education. i shall draw primarily on brazilian law, although some comments will be useful to understand the system in other countries, as well as to draft the copyright goals that need to be pursued.

Abstract: We probe a non-supersymmetric D6 + D0 state with D6-branes and find agreement at subleading order between the supergravity and super Yang-Mills description of the long-distance, low-velocity interaction.

Forma??o de professores na prática política do MST: a constru??o da consciência orgulhosa
Beltrame, Sonia Aparecida Branco;
Educa??o e Pesquisa , 2002, DOI: 10.1590/S1517-97022002000200010
Abstract: this article proposes a discussion about teachers' experience at settlement schools organized by the mst - brazilian landless workers movement in western santa catarina. following a qualitative methodology the study allowed the understanding of significant aspects of the cultural universe of the agents involved, highlighting the relationships built in family life, in the exercise of the profession, and in the political participation in the movement. the analysis of the actions carried out by the teachers in various spheres reveals how they become agents of their own experience. joining the education proposals of the mst allows in these teachers the manifestation of an identity that strengthens the everyday experience of being a teacher, promoting the development of a proud consciousness of the teaching practice. the experience is fed back to the school and to other educational opportunities promoted by the mst, to the contact with the group of teachers, to the studies they carry out, and to the exchanges with students and their families. that allows teachers to set priorities, adding significant elements to the contents seen at school. the prospect is then revealed for the transmission at school of a dimension of knowledge enhanced by the political action engendered in collective practices. this involvement results in differentiated experiences with benefit to the actions developed at school and in the movement. thus, these teachers re-establish the role of the school in the rural areas, creating new commitments that transform their teaching activity, broadening their learning and the relationships of solidarity present in the countryside culture.
O sentido da educa??o democrática: revisitando o conceito de experiência educativa em John Dewey
Branco, Maria Luísa;
Educa??o e Pesquisa , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S1517-97022010000200012
Abstract: understanding the modernity of dewey's pedagogical proposal requires a careful appraisal of his concept of educative experience. actually, his educational philosophy is grounded on a theory of experience, insofar as it rests upon a connection between personal experience and learning whose aim is the progressive enlargement of that experience. in the present article we make use of some of his main pedagogical works to characterize the concept of educative experience, starting with the distinction between educative experience and experience pure and simple. whilst the fundamental dimensions of any experience are continuity and interaction, the educative experience is distinguished by the quality of these dimensions in promoting the subject's development, that is, the growth and widening of his/her previous experience. after clarifying this concept, we seek to understand its impact for the organization of an indirect teaching based on a cooperative search, and for conceptions of curriculum and the role of pupils and teacher. still considering the centrality of the concept of educative experience, we try to unveil the deep nexus between progressive education and democratic education, whose key is the social reality of the intelligence heightened by democratic environments, apart from the nexus between education and democracy.
Gráficos de controle X para processos robustos
Costa, Antonio Fernando Branco;
Gest?o & Produ??o , 1998, DOI: 10.1590/S0104-530X1998000300007
Abstract: technological development has reduced the variability between items produced on s large scale. today, a small change in the process can be critical, requiring rapid action to eliminate it. traditionally, the cusum and the moving mean are the charts used to control these processes that we call robust processes. the aim of this paper is to show that the shewhart chart can also be used to control robust processes, if the constraint of fixed design parameters is relaxed.
Conflitos conceituais nos estudos sobre meio ambiente
Branco, Samuel Murgel;
Estudos Avan?ados , 1995, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-40141995000100014
Abstract: in this paper the interaction man/nature from the ecological and ethical points of view are discussed. ethics is related to the human societies and is not concerned with nature. in this way the human compromises with environment protection is restricted to the welfare of future generations. no ethical principle can be invoked to justify the indiscriminated protection to every species and ecossystems. however, the utility of the ecossystems and species must be taken in its largest sense including those which are object of interest for the scientists as benefical factors potentially useful for mankind.
