Quantum Charge Transfer Study of Triply Charged Ions in the Adiabatic Representation: the (BHe)3+ System
López-Castillo, A.;Belchior, J.C.;Braga, J.P.;
Journal of the Brazilian Chemical Society , 1998, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-50531998000500007
Abstract: full quantum charge transfer study of the process b3+ + he ? b2+ + he+ has been investigated in the collision energy range 1-102 ev using an ab-initio interaction potential. a new method to solve the schr?dinger equation in an adiabatic basis was used, where the radial and rotational coupling were taken into account, and the importance of the coupling between states of different symmetry was discussed. moreover, by using the well known landau-zener model, it was concluded that the two state model cannot be applied for the present system, and this might indicate that such a model should be applied carefully for other systems when a charge transfer process is considered. finally, the quantum total cross sections were compared with the previous published work of gargaud and co-workers and a fair agreement was achieved.
Eficiência nutricional de cultivares de feij o em competi o com plantas daninhas Nutritional efficiency of bean cultivars under competition with weeds

Planta Daninha , 2013, DOI: 10.1590/s0100-83582013000100009
Although the common bean has an effectively rapid cycle, its ability to use nutrients added during planting and cover can be affected by the presence of certain weed species. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of competition between three bean cultivars (IPR Colibri, IPR Eldorado, and Pérola) and six weed species (Euphorbia heterophylla, Bidens pilosa, Cenchrus echinatus, Amaranthus spinosus, Commelina benghalensis and Brachiaria plantaginea) on accumulation of N, P, and K by the plants, and on the nutritional efficiency of the bean plant. The experiment was conducted under controlled temperature and humidity conditions in a randomized block design with four replications. The period of coexistence between the bean cultivars and the weeds was 45 days after crop emergence. The bean cultivars showed reduced relative accumulation of N, P, and K when under competition, with the root system being the main organ affected negatively. IPR Colibri tolerated competition with the weeds the least. E. heterophylla presented the lowest competitive power, while A. spinosus and B. plantaginea were the most competitive against the bean. The nutritional efficiency of the bean plants varied according to the bean genotype

Diagnóstico diferencial de la tortura en restos esqueletizados: presentación de tres casos
Baraybar,J.P.;
Cuadernos de Medicina Forense , 2008, DOI: 10.4321/S1135-76062008000300009
Abstract: while the diagnosis of torture has been primarily concentrated in the examination of living victims and cadavers, little or no work has been undertaken in skeletonised remains. this paper discusses the role of non-accidental toracic trauma as an indicator of inflicted lesions with the aim of incapacitating but not killing certain victims of human rights violations. in order to illustrate differential diagnosis of injuries attributable to "torture" as well as other mechanisms three cases are presented in which could be attributed to torture and one is an exclusion of that scenario and is more consistent with a road traffic accident.

Abstract: The associationist interpretation of Hume's account of causal belief is criticized. The originof this mistaken interpretation is explained. The difference between Hume's views in theTreatise of Human Nature and in An Enquiry concerning Human Understanding is examined.
Check list of the mammals of Tussen-die-Riviere Provincial Nature Reserve, Free State Province, South Africa

Koedoe : African Protected Area Conservation and Science , 2006, DOI: 10.4102/koedoe.v49i1.108
Abstract: Tussen-die-Riviere Nature Reserve falls within the Eastern Mixed Nama-Karoo Biome. The surface area is approximately 23 000 ha and it is located in a summer rainfall region. Sixty six different mammal species were recorded for the reserve over the past 13 years which constitutes 65 % of the indigenous mammals recorded for the Free State Province. The highest number of species for the rodents and insectivores were recorded in riverine habitat but the highest abundance were recorded in rocky habitat and was constituted by only one species, Aethomys namaquensis.

Moderne (finansi le) slawerny
J.P. Fouché
Koers : Bulletin for Christian Scholarship , 2009, DOI: 10.4102/koers.v74i1&2.120
Abstract: Modern (financial) slavery There is probably no single person who has not been affected by the current international financial crisis. In order to understand what has happened, the reasons for the credit – and extended financial crisis are analysed and related to slavery. This article provides an international perspective, but also gives the South African perspective. From the article, it seems that the same factors that motivated people to apply slavery, today also motivate large corporations and individuals to keep hostage a large number of people in a spiral of increased consumerism. The consumer spending is financed by paying people more for their spare time and people taking up more credit. From the relentless way in which credit is being advertised, it seems that there is very little respect or care for the well-being of those trapped in debt. The prospects of ending the financial slavery are discussed and some recommendations are made regarding dealing with debt. The article closes with a call on the church to enter into the debate.
