Evaluation of Scientific and Practice Approaches
Malgorzata Pinkowska,Bogdan Lent
IBIMA Business Review , 2011,
Abstract: Majority of products and services in today’s technologically advanced and global world is developed in form of projects. ICT (information and communication technology) research and practice confirm that success of those projects depends on three equivocally relevant areas: technology, management process and people. The last, as proven in numerous surveys and research, is the main cause of failure and challenge of the ICT projects. Project manager skills to handle humans are essential to those endeavours.This paper examines trends in required soft skills for ICT project managers, reflecting state-of-the-art in the field. The skills identified in a careful survey of 219 job advertisements for ICT project managers in Switzerland, Poland and Thailand are compared with the soft skills identified in 27 journal and conference publications as well as further 46 monographs and standards on project management. For evaluation purpose authors adopted the L-Timer process based mental model of project management.Whereas science considers leadership skills and communication capabilities as most important one, practice calls for communication and leadership in reverse sequence, followed by the team management, first. The processes of Human Resource, Conflict and Self Management are underrepresented in the advertisements. While Switzerland represents weighted approach, Poland focuses on team management capability, while Thailand demands leadership qualities of prospective project managers. The cultural roots evaluation and inter-cultural differences reflected by the conclusions of this paper are further research objectives of the authors.

Abstract: microtriatoma pratai sherlock & guitton, 1982 is not a species of this genus of the subfamily triatominae. it is not hematophagous. i identify it as aradomorpha championi lent & wygodzinsky, 1944, a predator insect of the subfamily reduviidae.
Frequent injuries in adolescent athletes
Turk Pediatri Ar?ivi , 2011,
Abstract: As a result of the decrease in the age of starting doing sports and competition, the frequency and the variety of the athletic injuries in the childhood and adolescence have increased. The results of the similar traumas in the adulthood and adolescence are different from each other. While the rapid anatomic development and growing-up in adolescence affects the performance in a negative manner, it also increases the risks of the athletic injuries. In adolescence the frequency of both, microtraumatic overuse and uni-traumatic (in-or extrinsic) injuries are similar. The athletic injuries are closely related to the executed discipline. The apophysitis’, ligament injuries, stress fractures, tendonitis, ostheochondral injuries, syndesmosis injuries, avulsion fractures, impingement syndromes and spondylolyses are the mostly experienced ones. A Search on Two-Electron Atoms  [PDF]
Mustafa ?apak,lent G?nül
Journal of Modern Physics (JMP) , 2011, DOI: 10.4236/jmp.2011.29127
Abstract: Using the basic ingredient of two-body problem, we propose accurate algebraic solutions in a closed form for the ground state of helium and helium-like atoms. These simple but explicit expressions involve exact screening parameters for each system considered and provide an insight into their physical structure. The energy eigenvalues have been exactly calculated for atoms with nuclear charge Z in the range 1 ≤ Z ≤ 12, clarifying the relation between the screening parameteter and Z.
The Performance of the Higher-Order Radiation Condition Method for the Penetrable Cylinder
lent Y lmaz
Mathematical Problems in Engineering , 2007, DOI: 10.1155/2007/17605
Abstract: We have considered the scattering of a plane wave by a penetrable acoustic circular cylinder. The boundary conditions are continuity of the total pressure and the total velocity. The wave speed and density of the target are different from that of the surrounding medium. We investigated the performance of higher-order SRCs up to L4 operator in two dimensions. We assume that in the rectangular Cartesian system of axes, (x,y,z), the z axis coincides with the axis of the cylinder and an incident wave propagates in a direction perpendicular to the z axis. All the field quantities are then independent of z. Numerical results are added to present the change of the module of the total field and the magnitude of the far field with respect to θ.
A genitália externa dos machos de sete espécies de Triatoma Laporte, 1832 da regi?o Neártica (Hemiptera, Reduviidae, Triatominae)
Lent, Herman;Jurberg, José;
Memórias do Instituto Oswaldo Cruz , 1987, DOI: 10.1590/S0074-02761987000200011
Abstract: seven species from the neartic region, triatoma barberi usinger, 1939; t. rubida (uhler, 1894); t. gerstaeckeri (stal, 1859); t. lecticularia (stal, 1859); t. protracta (uhler, 1894); t. recurva (stal, 1868) and t. sanguisuga (leconte, 1855) were comparatively analysed with emphasis on the genital structures of the male bug: the phallosome (ph), the phallosome struts (sph), the endosoma process (pren), the vesica (v) and the articulatory apparatus (apb). the phallic structures were useful as a supplementary morphological criterion to the present taxonomical standards. these wild species are found naturally infected by trypanosoma cruzi in the united states and mexico. some of them live outside human dwellings while other are occasionally domiciliary, although they do not colonize these homes.
Estudo comparativo da genitália externa masculina de Linshcosteus costalis ghauri e L. Kali Lent & Wygodzinsky (Hemiptera, Reduviidae, Triatominae)
Lent, Herman;Jurberg, José;
Memórias do Instituto Oswaldo Cruz , 1983, DOI: 10.1590/S0074-02761983000400005
Abstract: the study of the male genitália of two from the five known species of the oriental genus linshcosteus distant -: l. costalis ghauri e l. kali lent & wygodzinsky -, with emphasis on the comparative aspects of the five structures which have shown more differences. the general aspects of these genitalia follow what the authors had observed in previous works published for the other genera of the tribe triatomini, subfamily triatominae. the external morphology, which characterizes the genus, is peculiar, because of the short length of the rostrum which only reaches or approaches the posterior level of the eyes, when observed by profile and rest position, besides not existing a stridulatory prosternal sulcus too.
A genitália externa na tribo Bolboderini (Hemiptera, Reduviidae, Triatominae)
Lent, Herman;Jurberg, José;
Memórias do Instituto Oswaldo Cruz , 1984, DOI: 10.1590/S0074-02761984000100001
Abstract: seven species of the bolboderini tribe belonging to the genera bolbodera, belminus, microtriatoma and parabelminus, two of them found naturally infected with trypanosoma cruzi, were analysed and compared emphasizing eight structures of the male external genitalia: median process of pygophore (prp), conjunctiva process (prcj), pedicel (ep1b), endosoma process (pren), struts (sph), phallosoma (ph), medium bridge (prg) and vesica (v). microtriatoma trinidadensis (lent, 1951) and m. borbai lent & wygodzinsky, 1979 have shown a structural morphological aspect similar to parabelminus yurupucu lent & wygodzinsky, 1979 and p. carioca lent, 1943 differing clearly from belminus peruvianus herrer, lent & wygodzinsky, 1954, b. herreri lent & wygodzinsky, 1979 and bolbodera scabrosa valdés, 1910, not only by the absence but by the shape of some structures. these comparative observations confirm the affinity between microtriatoma and parabelminus and their relations with belminus and bolbodera.
A genitália externa dos machos no complexo Triatoma phyllosoma (Burm.) espécies mexicanas transmissoras da doen?a de Chagas (Hemiptera, Reduviidae)
Lent, Herman;Jurberg, José;
Memórias do Instituto Oswaldo Cruz , 1982, DOI: 10.1590/S0074-02761982000300008
Abstract: a study was made of the male genitalia of five species which constitute the phyllosoma complex: triatoma phyllosoma (burmeister, 1835), t. pallidipennis (stal, 1872), t. longipennis usinger, 1939, t. picturata usinger, 1939 and t. mazzottii usinger, 1941; all of them were found naturally infected by trypanosoma cruzi, and, except t. picturata colonizing human houses. these species are very similar, not only by the external aspects but also by their geographical occurence in mexico. the structures which constitute these genitalias were analysed comparatively with the intention to increase the knowledge of the mentioned species, showing some morphological informations to the modern taxonomy. there were identified four aedeagus structures: phallosoma, struts, endosoma and vesica processes; one on articulatory apparatus, the gonopore process; and other on pygophore, the pygophore process. these structures show small variations in size and shape, emphasizing the relatioship between the species and the dificulty to the perfect understanding of the taxonomic status of each one.
