Abstract: Very typical situations of the Pediatric Surgery Services in the Pediatric Hospital of Cienfuegos may interfere with the appropriate development of the educational process. Consequently, students might not master the principles of medical practice in the most common surgical diseases in children, thus limiting its further application in their professional performances as basic general practitioners. To obtain more accurate information on the causes of this phenomenon is considered to be paramount in order to search for practical solutions to improve the educational process and to fulfil the goals of the teaching stage. The contents on the following information sources are analyzed in this paper: documents for higher education and for medicine career, publications and papers presented in scientific events (directly or indirectly related to the practice of Pediatric Surgery) and hospital statistics. This review was aimed at analyzing the situations that negatively affect the educational process during the pediatric surgery area teaching of fourth year medicine students. En el Hospital Pediátrico de Cienfuegos existen varias situaciones, propias del Servicio de Cirugía Pediátrica, que interfieren en el buen desarrollo del proceso docente educativo y pudieran, en consecuencia, malograr que los estudiantes dominen los principios de la actuación médica ante las enfermedades quirúrgicas más frecuentes en la edad pediátrica y no puedan aplicarlos en su actividad profesional como médicos generales básicos. Disponer de información más exacta de sus causas se consideró cardinal en el proceso de búsqueda de soluciones prácticas para perfeccionar el proceso y cumplir los objetivos en la formación del estudiante de medicina durante la estancia. En este trabajo se realiza un análisis del contenido de las siguientes fuentes de información: documentos de la carrera de Medicina y de la educación superior; publicaciones y trabajos presentados en eventos científicos, relacionados directa o indirectamente con la actividad del Servicio de Ci-rugía Pediátrica y las estadísticas hospitalarias, con el objetivo de valorar las situaciones que inciden desfa-vorablemente sobre el proceso docente educativo durante la estancia de cirugía pediátrica.

Abstract: The term recurrent abdominal pain is characterized by the presence of three or more episodes of abdominal pain in a three-months period although in clincal practice, this term is applied to intermittent episodes of pain in a period of more than one month. This definition is arbitrary causing debates and errors in diagnosing the patient. The term chronic abdominal pain is accepted nowadays which is the one that comprises the constant or intermittent abdominal pain of long duration, functional or organic. In this paper a bibliographical review on chronic abdominal pain in children is carried out. A critical analysis of the evaluation of the patient with this disorders is done as well as the management to follow with them in the primary attention and, the pharmachlogical and non pharmachlogical treatment of the patient with functional pain. El término dolor abdominal recurrente se caracteriza por la presencia de tres o más episodios de dolor abdominal, durante un período de tres meses, aunque en la práctica clínica, el término se aplica también a episodios intermitentes de dolor de más de un mes de duración. La definición es arbitraria y ha originado controversias y errores en el diagnóstico; la que se acepta actualmente es dolor abdominal crónico, que comprende específicamente el dolor abdominal constante o intermitente, de larga duración, funcional u orgánico. En el presente trabajo se realiza una revisión bibliográfica sobre el dolor abdominal crónico en edad pediátrica, su etiología, clasificación actual y diagnóstico; se realiza un análisis crítico de la evaluación de los pacientes con estos trastornos, de la conducta a seguir con ellos en la atención comunitaria, y del tratamiento no farmacológico y farmacológico de los pacientes con dolor funcional.

Abstract: We propose an experimental setup, feasible with present day technology, involving two highquality- factor cavities, one Ramsey zone and a two-level atom which interacts with them. The dynamics in the cavities is modeled by a dissipative dispersive Jaynes-Cummings model. Analytical expresions for the evolution superoperator in each part of the proposed setup and for the concurrence between the atom and the first cavity are given, and the pairwise entanglement of the subsystems is calculated numerically. We consider initial separable states given by the tensor product of a superposition of the two atomic relevant states and coherent states for the fields. We show that for realistic model parameters (including dissipation), when the dissipation rates are smaller than the dispersive frequencies (the ratio between the squared vacuum Rabi frequencies and the detunings), the final state of the cavity fields remains entangled.
An analytical relation between entropy production and quantum Lyapunov exponents for Gaussian bipartite systems

Abstract: We study and compare the information loss of a large class of Gaussian bipartite systems. It includes the usual Caldeira-Leggett type model as well as Anosov models (parametric oscillators, the inverted oscillator environment, etc), which exhibit instability, one of the most important characteristics of chaotic systems. We establish a rigorous connection between the quantum Lyapunov exponents and coherence loss, and show that in the case of unstable environments coherence loss is completely determined by the upper quantum Lyapunov exponent, a behavior which is more universal than that of the Caldeira-Leggett type model.
Experimental techniques for the investigation of coupled phenomena in geomaterials

Abstract: The paper describes different experimental setups and techniques used to investigate coupled stress, fluid (water and air) and temperature effects on geomaterials. Two temperature controlled cells are described: a) a constant volume cell in which thermal pulses can be performed under controlled hydraulic conditions to induce pore pressure build-up during quasi-undrained heating and later dissipation; and b) an axisymmetric triaxial cell with controlled suction and temperature to perform drained heating and cooling paths under partially saturated states. The paper also presents an experimental setup to perform controlled flow-rate gas injection experiments on argillaceous rocks using a high-pressure triaxial cell. This cell is used to study gas migration phenomena and the conditions under which gas breakthrough processes occur. Selected test results are presented, which show the capabilities of the different experimental setups described to capture main behavioural features.

Abstract: Resumen:La adaptación de la ense anza a los principios educativos del Espacio Europeo de Educación Superior implica la revisión de la práctica docente y la adopción de nuevas metodologías. Con esta intencionalidad, en el curso 2008/2009, Facultad de Educación de la Universidad de Granada, se ha desarrollado una investigación en la que se verificó los indicadores más relevantes en el trabajo personal y la implicación activa de los estudiantes de primero de magisterio de Educación Física en sus procesos formativos. Se trata de un estudio de investigación aplicada, con un dise o pre-experimental de un solo grupo, con valoración inicial y valoración final, una vez que se aplicó el programa de la asignatura. Los resultados se obtuvieron mediante un cuestionario que se les pasó a 111 estudiantes al principio y 114 al final. Se ha efectuado un análisis descriptivo básico (media y desviación típica), un análisis de la prueba U de Mann Witney para comprobar las diferencias entre las expectativas y las valoraciones, una correlación de Spearman y un análisis factorial. Como grandes evidencias se obtiene que para el trabajo personal es muy importante el compromiso y la participación de los estudiantes en las actividades y del enfoque metodológico de la asignatura.Abstract: The Adapting of the education to the area European Space of Higher Education Area, educational principles involves review of teaching practice and methodological further. With the intention of such research has developed which has sought to verify the most significant indicators in personal work and active involvement of students in first teaching physical education in their formative processes. This is a study of applied research, pre-experimental designed a single group, with initial assessment and final assessment, once the program was implemented for the subject. The results were obtained by means of a questionnaire that they passed to 111 students initially and 114 ultimately. There has been effected a descriptive basic analysis (average and standard deviation), an analysis of the proof U Mann Witney to verify the differences between the expectations and the valuations, a Spearman correlation and a factor analysis. As evidence is obtained for the personal work that is very important commitment and participation of students in the activities and the methodological approach to the subject.
La plataforma de apoyo a la docencia como opción metodológica para el aprendizaje de competencias

Abstract: El estudio tiene como objetivo comprobar el efecto sobre la aplicación de la Plataforma de Apoyo a la Docencia (SWAD) como metodología para el aprendizaje de competencias. Participaron dos grupos: GE (n: 111) y GV (n: 114), ambos de estudiantes de la Universidad de Granada (Espa a). Se utilizó un cuestionario con preguntas cerradas, validado específicamente para el estudio y con alta fiabilidad. Se obtuvieron datos cualitativos mediante el portfolio, construido durante el curso como herramienta para el aprendizaje de competencias profesionales. El análisis descriptivo, tomando en consideración que los rangos de puntuación van de 1 a 5, presenta expectativas y valoraciones altas, 4.13 (0.88); y el análisis de contraste muestra diferencias significativas (p 0.05) entre las expectativas iniciales y las valoraciones finales en todos los ítems del cuestionario, lo que indica una buena opinión por parte de los estudiantes ante este tipo de metodología y fortalece la idea de que este tipo de estrategia metodológica es válida para el desarrollo de competencias en la formación profesional. Los resultados cualitativos destacan que la metodológica ha favorecido la capacidad de comunicarse de forma escrita y la utilización de ordenadores, mejorando la capacidad de trabajo individual mediante aprendizajes activos y desarrollando la capacidad de análisis y síntesis de documentos.
Whirling Waves and the Aharonov-Bohm Effect for Relativistic Spinning Particles

Abstract: The formulation of Berry for the Aharonov-Bohm effect is generalized to the relativistic regime. Then, the problem of finding the self-adjoint extensions of the (2+1)-dimensional Dirac Hamiltonian, in an Aharonov-Bohm background potential, is solved in a novel way. The same treatment also solves the problem of finding the self-adjoint extensions of the Dirac Hamiltonian in a background Aharonov-Casher.
Exact Description of Decoherence in Optical Cavities

Abstract: The exact reduced dynamics for the independent oscillator model in the RWA approximation at zero and finite temperatures is derived. It is shown that the information about the interaction and the environment is encapsulated into three time dependent coefficients of the master equation, one of which vanishes in the zero temperature case. In currently used optical cavities all the information about the field dynamics is contained into {\it two} (or three) experimentally accesible and physically meaningful real functions of time. From the phenomenological point of view it suffices then to carefully measure two ({\it three}) adequate observables in order to map the evolution of any initial condition, as shown with several examples: (generalized) coherent states, Fock states, Schr\"odinger cat states, and squeezed states.
