O significado da compra: desejo, demanda e o comércio do sexo
Bernstein, Elizabeth;
Cadernos Pagu , 2008, DOI: 10.1590/S0104-83332008000200015
Abstract: feminists and other scholars have debated theoretically what exactly is being purchased in the prostitution transaction and whether sex can be "a service like any other", but they have scarcely tackled these questions empirically. this article draws upon field observations of and interviews with male clients of commercial sex-workers and state agents entrusted with regulating them to probe the meanings given to different types of commercial sexual exchange. manifested by client arrests and re-education, vehicle impoundment, stricter laws on underage prostitution and the possession of child pornography, recent state efforts to problematize male sexuality throughout the usa and western europe have been developed alongside an increasingly unbridled ethic of sexual consumption, as evidenced by soaring demand for pornography, strip clubs, lap-dancing, escorts, telephone sex and "sex tours" in developing countries. by situating commercial sexual exchange within the broader context of post-industrial transformations of culture and sexuality, we can begin to unravel this paradox.
A pedagogiza??o do conhecimento: estudos sobre recontextualiza??o
Bernstein, Basil;
Cadernos de Pesquisa , 2003, DOI: 10.1590/S0100-15742003000300005
Abstract: this paper aims to demonstrate how the concept of competence, which emerges in different social sciences fields, got into the area of education. in fact, while the notion of competence is related to the so-called invisible pedagogies, the one of performance - defined in opposition to it - is connected to visible pedagogies. it is also examined how both concepts assume various modalities in face of the central differences that underlie their fundamental bases. it is yet established a link between how these notions were employed in wider educational relations (which encompass school and non-school processes) and the process of identities' construction, indicating this last one is not only dynamic but also per passed by resistances and oppositions. last, there is an attempt to identify, in the actual moment of capitalism, which is the process of identity construction that is privileged by school education, pointing out how it conflicts with other analogous processes that take place elsewhere. these problems, however, permit a critical reappraisal of school institutions, as well as of the principles and aspects focused on their discourses.

Abstract: introducing the first tweezer adjusted to the newest lighting technology though ultra-bright diode, without cables nor optical fiber to obtain the proper illumination of dark and hard acces caves, and thanks to its insulating cover, and its free point allows the cauterization under good illumination of bloody vasels without injurying sites of accidental supports of its branches.
Novedoso separador con diodo ultrabrillante
Bernstein,M.;
Cirugía Plástica Ibero-Latinoamericana , 2008, DOI: 10.4321/S0376-78922008000200009
Abstract: after many studies and tests a very innovative, strong and comfortable retractor is introduced; it is considered ideal for mammary implants surgery and it is also very useful in difficult access surgeries. this new design produces less tissue damage than ordinary flat retractors due to its smaller contact surface; besides it allows a better view of the surgery field (as it permits the observation of any bleeding that traditional flat separators would hide). its modern illumination is strong and precise; it offers above 25% more light than fiber optics without any external light source what makes this retractor very easy to handle and to transport.
Emerging patterns in overweight and obesity in Ecuador
Bernstein,Adam;
Bernstein, Henry;
Sociologias , 2011, DOI: 10.1590/S1517-45222011000200004
Abstract: the paper first suggests a shift from farming to agriculture generated by the advent of industrial capitalism, and its dominance on a world scale from the nineteenth century, and a second shift from the 1970s with the advent and trajectories of contemporary globalization. the paper then argues that debate of the (final?) 'death of the peasantry' in the era of globalization is misconceived and anachronistic, and that the theorization of 'small farmers' as petty commodity producers within capitalism, and subject to its tendency to class differentiation, provides a more satisfactory approach to agrarian questions today.
David Bernstein
MedieKultur : Journal of Media and Communication Research , 1993,
A Critique of Corporate Communications" (1984).
A pedagogiza o do conhecimento: estudos sobre recontextualiza o
Bernstein Basil
Novedoso separador con diodo ultrabrillante New retractor with ultrabilliant diode
M. Bernstein
After many studies and tests a very innovative, strong and comfortable retractor is introduced; it is considered ideal for mammary implants surgery and it is also very useful in difficult access surgeries.
Novedosa pinza lumínica New light tweezer
M. Bernstein
Introducing the first tweezer adjusted to the newest lighting technology though ultra-bright diode, without cables nor optical fiber to obtain the proper illumination of dark and hard acces caves, and thanks to its insulating cover, and its free point allows the cauterization under good illumination of bloody vasels without injurying sites of accidental supports of its branches.
