A critique of black-hole-black-body radiation, black-hole thermodynamics, entropy bounds, inflation cosmology, and the lack of gravitational aberration is presented. With the exception of the last topic, the common thread is the misuse of entropy and, consequently, the second law. Hawking’s derivation of the entropy loss due to black hole emission rests on Kirchhoff’s radiation law which equates the rates of absorption and emission of energy in any given frequency interval. Black-body radiation cannot, therefore, be used as a mechanism for black-hole evaporation. A derivation of the Planck factor from an exponential Doppler shift shows why the temperature cannot be proportional to the acceleration; accelerations do not cause Doppler shifts. Inflationary cosmology is based on a misconception that the adiabatic condition of Einstein’s equations hold, and, yet, there can be an enormous increase in the entropy. The cause for the increase is a negative pressure which contradicts the thermodynamic definition of positive pressure as the derivative of the entropy with respect to the volume times the temperature: Increases in volume cause corresponding increases in the entropy. A first-order phase transition cannot occur under adiabatic conditions, cannot generate entropy, and the latent heat cannot be used to reheat the universe. Finally, a negative pressure is invoked to explain the absence of gravitational aberration, assuming that gravity propagates at the speed of light.

It is the only physical theory of universal content which I am convinced will never be overthrown, within the framwork of applicability of its basic concepts.

Conservando la diversidad de lenguas
Russel Bernard, H.
Cuadernos de Estudios Gallegos , 1992,
Abstract: Not available.
An attempt to obtain Bi_{4}Ti_{3}O_{12}-PVC textured ceramics-polymer composites

Physics , 2013, DOI: 10.5488/CMP.16.31705
Abstract: Bi_{4}Ti_{3}O_{12}-PVC composites were fabricated. Ceramics powders of bismuth titanate were prepared by the sol-gel method using bismuth nitrate pentahydrate Bi(NO_{3})_{3} \cdot 5H_{2}O and tetrabutyl titanate Ti(CH_{3}(CH_{2})_{3}O)_{4} as precursors. The Bi_{4}Ti_{3}O_{12}-PVC composites were fabricated from ceramics powders and polymer powders by hot-pressing method.

Decision Making in Support of Manufacturing Enterprise Transformation

Advances in Decision Sciences , 2013, DOI: 10.1155/2013/326185
Abstract: To achieve the agility necessary to compete successfully in everchanging world markets, manufacturing enterprises of all sizes must exhibit a transformational leadership. Strategic, tactical, and operational decision making is an essential part of such leadership. The papers in this special issue seek to understand and characterize common transformational decision-making needs in manufacturing enterprises and the state of art in decision-making methods and technologies. Additionally, these papers identify gaps in those methods and technologies and propose research can fill those gaps. In the paper titled “The integrated use of enterprise and system dynamics modelling techniques in support of business decisions” the authors use case studies to describe a new modelling methodology for analysing and managing dynamics and complexities in production systems. This methodology is based on a systematic transformation process that integrates enterprise, causal loop (CL), and system dynamics (SDs) modelling techniques. The methodology relies on the creation of CIMOSA process models, which are then converted to CL models. CL models are then structured and translated into equivalent SD models. The authors have used their methodology in a number of case study companies to (1) capture business processes, (2) model the dynamics impacting those processes, (3) analyse the impact of variations in customer demand on value realization, and (4) analyse the effect of constant sales orders on material supply, cost, and product realisation. In the paper titled “Performance assessment of product service system from system architecture perspectives” the author focuses on a concept called Product Service System (PSS). The PSS enables the manufacturers of complex engineering products to incorporate support services into the entire product life cycle. However, the PSS design has imposed significant risks to the manufacturer not only in the manufacture of the product itself, but also in the provision of support services over a long period of time at a predetermined price. This paper analysed three case studies using case study research design approach and mapped the service elements of the case studies to the generic Complex Engineering Product Service System (CEPSS) model. By establishing the concept of capability distribution for a PSS enterprise, the capability of the CEPSS can be overlaid on the performance-based reward scheme so that decision makers evaluate options related to the business opportunities presented to them. In the paper titled “Evaluating ethical responsibility
Evaluation by an Aeronautic Dentist on the Adverse Effects of a Six-Week Period of Microgravity on the Oral Cavity
Balwant Rai,Jasdeep Kaur,Bernard H. Foing
International Journal of Dentistry , 2011, DOI: 10.1155/2011/548068
Abstract: Objective. HDT bed rest condition is a simulated microgravity condition in which subject lies on bed inclined ?6 degree feet up. To determine the influence of a simulated microgravity (HDT bed rest) on oral cavity, 10 healthy male volunteers were studied before, during, just after, and after 6 weeks of the simulated microgravity condition of ?6° head-down-tilt (HDT) bed rest. Materials and Methods. Facial nerve function, facial sensation, chemosensory system, salivary biomarkers were measured. Results. Lactate dehydrogenase, MIP 1 alpha, malonaldehyde, 8-hydroxydeoxyguanosine, and thiocyanate were found to increase significantly, while flow rate, sodium, potassium, calcium, phosphate, protein, amylase activity, vitamin E and C, and mouth opening were decreased in simulation environments in contradiction to normal. The threshold for monosodium glutamate (MSG) and capsaicin increased during microgravity as compared to normal conditions. Moderate pain of teeth, facial oedema, mild pain, loss of sensation of pain and temperature, decreased tongue, and mandibular movement in simulation microgravity environments were observed. Conclusions. These results suggest that reversible effect of microgravity is oedema of face, change in taste, abnormal expression of face, teeth pain, and xerostomia. Further study will be required on large scale on long-term effects of microgravity on oral cavity to prevent the adverse effects. 1. Introduction For many years, the prevailing concept in space human factors research has been that microgravity has an impact on human physiology and astronauts are faced with several health risks during both short- and long-duration spaceflights. Some of these health problems include bone loss, muscle atrophy, cardiac dysrhythmias, and altered orientation [1, 2]. It has been reported that saliva composition is changed and oral health compromised during simulated skylab mission [3, 4]. Previous studies observed some adverse effects of simulated microgravity (HDT bed rest condition) on oral cavity [5–12]. HDT bed rest condition is a simulated microgravity condition in which subject lies on bed inclined ?6 degree feet up [2].This study is extension of our previous studies [6]. To the best of our knowledge, no long-term study has been conducted on effect of oral cavity such as facial nerve functions, prevalence and pattern of oral disease, bone loss, tooth pain, salivary flow rate, and different salivary biomarkers. The prevalence of oral diseases such as dental caries, periodontal disease and cancer, and bone loss was estimated by salivary
Ils analysent cet...
