Abstract: In this paper, the regulatory role of exogenous carbon monoxide (CO) during the generation and development of adventitious roots in mung bean (Phaseolus radiatus L. cv. Mingguang) hypocotyl cuttings was surveyed. The results indicated that, like nitric oxide (NO), CO donor Hematin induced adventitious rooting in dose-and time-dependent manners. These responses were also proven by the addition of gaseous CO aqueous solution with different concentrations. Additionally, the above CO-mediated effect was differently reversed when CO scavenger hemoglobin (Hb), CO specific synthetic inhibitor ZnPPIX, the auxin transport inhibitor NPA and nitric oxide synthase (NOS) inhibitor L-NAME were added with Hematin, respectively. Furthermore, after being treated with CO for 36 h, NO fluorescence was significantly enhanced and mainly distributed in the zone of vascular bundles whereas the specific NO scavenger cPTIO significantly inhibited NO fluorescence induced by CO, indicating that CO induces adventitious rooting of hypocotyl cuttings from mung bean seedling probably mediated by NO/NOS pathway.

Abstract: Carbon monoxide (CO) has recently proven to be an important bioactive or signaling molecule in mammalian cells. Its effects are mainly mediated by nitric oxide (NO) and cyclic GMP (cGMP). In Vicia faba leaves, CO production and heme oxygenase (HO) activity, an important CO synthetic enzyme, are first reported to increase in response to ABA treatment, which could result in stomatal closure. Interestingly, ABA-induced stomatal closure in V. faba guard cells is partially blocked when the synthetic CO inhibitor ZnPP, or the CO/NO scavenger Hb is added. Furthermore, we show that, exogenously applied CO donor, hematin, and CO aqueous solution not only result in the enhancement of CO release, but also time-dependently induce stomatal closure, and the latter is mimicked by the application of an NO donor SNP. The above-mentioned stomatal closure effects are differentially reversed by the addition of tungstate, a potent inhibitor of NO synthetic enzyme nitrate reductase (NR), the specific NO scavenger cPTIO, ZnPP, or Hb. During treatment for 4 h, SNP, 0.01% CO aqueous solution or hematin significantly triggers NO synthesis, whereas cPTIO, or tungstate approximately fully inhibits NO fluorescence. Additionally, application of the GC inhibitor ODQ blocks CO-induced stomatal closure. This inhibition could be reversed when 8-Br-cGMP is added. Thus, the above results suggest that CO produced by HO is involved in ABA-induced stomatal closure, and NO and cGMP may function as downstream intermediates in the CO signaling responsible for stomatal closure.

Advances in Linear Algebra & Matrix Theory (ALAMT) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/alamt.2015.53010
Abstract: Based on the hybrid numerical method (HNM) combining with a reduced-basis method (RBM), the real-time transient response of a functionally graded material (FGM) plates is obtained. The large eigenvalue problem in wavenumber domain has been solved through real-time off-line/on-line calculation. At off-line stage, a reduced-basis space is constructed in sample wavenumbers according to the solved eigenvalue problems. The matrices independent of parameters are projected onto the reduced-basis spaces. At on-line stage, the reduced eigenvalue problems of the arbitrary wavenumbers are built. Subsequently, the responses in wavenumber domain are obtained by the approximated eigen-pairs. Because of the application of RBM, the computational cost of transient displacement analysis of FGM plate is decreased significantly, while the accuracy of the solution and the physics of the structure are still retained. The efficiency and validity of the proposed method are demonstrated through a numerical example.
Adaptive Reduced Basis Methods Applied to Structural Dynamic Analysis  [PDF]
Yonghui Huang, Yi Huang
American Journal of Computational Mathematics (AJCM) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/ajcm.2015.53029
Abstract: The reduced basis methods (RBM) have been demonstrated as a promising numerical technique for statics problems and are extended to structural dynamic problems in this paper. Direct step-by-step integration and mode superposition are the most widely used methods in the field of the finite element analysis of structural dynamic response and solid mechanics. Herein these two methods are both transformed into reduced forms according to the proposed reduced basis methods. To generate a reduced surrogate model with small size, a greedy algorithm is suggested to construct sample set and reduced basis space adaptively in a prescribed training parameter space. For mode superposition method, the reduced basis space comprises the truncated eigenvectors from generalized eigenvalue problem associated with selected sample parameters. The reduced generalized eigenvalue problem is obtained by the projection of original generalized eigenvalue problem onto the reduced basis space. In the situation of direct integration, the solutions of the original increment formulation corresponding to the sample set are extracted to construct the reduced basis space. The reduced increment formulation is formed by the same method as mode superposition method. Numerical example is given in Section 5 to validate the efficiency of the presented reduced basis methods for structural dynamic problems.

Abstract: Being an important political event, the National People’s Congress and the Chinese Political Consultative Conference (also known as “Two Sessions”) have drawn attention worldwide. Since neighboring China and playing significant roles in Chinese “the Belt and Road” initiative, countries in Southeast and South Asia have delivered reports specifically about heating issues over “Two Sessions”. The overall features of public opinion are as follow: 1) the number of reports increases as time passes; 2) reporting focuses lie mainly on economic and political fields and factual reports account for more than half of the whole coverage; 3) national differences exist in reporting focuses, accompanied by prominent nationally public opinion tendencies; 4) domestic media diversify with one and another about focuses of coverage. After research, this paper suggests that, to improve its power of discourse in international public opinion, China should strengthen its publication with English media by keeping an eye on public opinion tendency as well as standpoint of diversified media overseas.
On Twisted Virasoro Operators and Number Theory
An Huang
Physics , 2009,
Abstract: We explore some axioms of divergent series and their relations with conformal field theory. As a consequence we obtain another way of calculating $L(0,\chi)$ and $L(-1,\chi)$ for $\chi$ being a Dirichlet character. We hope this discussion is also of interest to physicists doing renormalization theory for a reason indicated in the Introduction section. We introduce a twist of the oscillator representation of the Virasoro algebra by a group of Dirichlet characters and use this to give a 'physical interpretation' of why the values of certain divergent series should be given by special L values. Furthermore, we use this to show that some fractional powers which are crucial for some infinite products to have peculiar modular transformation properties are expressed explicitly by certain linear combinations of $L(-1, \chi)$'s for appropriately chosen $\chi$'s, and can be understood physically as a kind of 'vacuum Casimir engergy' in our settings. We also note a relation between field theory and our twisted operators. Lastly we give an attempt to reinterpret Tate's thesis by a sort of conformal field theory on a number field.
