The Location of Subregional Facilities in Territories with Scattered Population. A Methodological Proposal Based on the Case of Asturias (Spain)

Abstract: It is a political and economic problem to place decentralized services in territories with scattered populations such Asturias (Spain). On the basis of applied research, we propose a method to select possible sites; furthermore, we carefully consider the population and the travel time of users. A GIS programme is used for calculations. Besides, another application of the method is proposed for the analysis of pedestrians’ mobility.

Abstract: the purpose of this article is to reopen the debate on some conceptual issues of human rights, for the purpose of relaunching and revitalizing a politically mobilizing agenda for latin america. the author defends the priority of civil and political rights over economic and social rights by reformulating, for example, the right to education, which has traditionally been understood to be part of economic and social rights. he also contends that it is both urgent and necessary to address through political action, and not within the domain of human rights, issues that raise controversies of a moral character in society. the case of abortion, which is still treated as a human rights issue in the united states, is sufficiently illustrative.

Abstract: Actualmente se aprecia un aumento de síntomas denominados a veces como de fin de milenio , tales como: las toxicomanías, la homosexualidad, el sufrimiento de la soledad y el apetito de éxito económico, social y estético, entre otros. Esta situación nos lleva directamente a preguntarnos por el significado y las implicaciones de la misma, lo cual remite, según el psicoanálisis, al tema del declive del padre, lo que a su vez se refleja en nuestra época, en la que la figura del padre ha sido colocada en una posición desde la cual sigue ejerciendo su reinado pero sin gobernar. El padre, en cuanto figura que representa la ley y coloca los límites, aparece minimizado. Esto ha generado profundas implicaciones y consecuencias psicológicas, las cuales serán analizadas en nuestro actual periódo histórico y cultural desde la perspectiva de Jacqes Lacan.

Abstract:

An epoxy penetration technique was used to reproduce and analyze the pitting corrosion process occurred at a steel coupon surface. The samples were exposed to the resin under high vacuum conditions, in order to fulfill the pits caused by the corrosion process. With this technique, a 3D image of the corrosion damages was obtained. Once the image of the damaged surface was obtained, a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) was used to analyze the morphology of the pits exhibited by the steel sample. The results were satisfactory, as different parameters such as the diameter, shape and depth of the pits originated, along with the corrosion preferential path, could be established. According to the results, the use of the epoxy penetration technique may be considered as alternating pitting corrosion analysis technique.

Abstract: the purpose of applying the fresh-cut technique in preparing vegetable salads ready for fresh consumption, was aimed to control the damage american lettuce (lactuca sativa); carrot (daucus carota l); radicchio (cichorium intybus l) and endive (cichorium endivia l).? mediterranean and cheff? style salads were prepared for evaluation. the methodology allowed selecting and evaluating fresh-cut technique as well as good manufacturing practices, to extend the commercial life, and guarantee alimentary food safety to people. use of 1% calcium chloride; 0.1% citric acid and 0.5% magnesium oxide solutions; allowed to maintain the quality of the salads for a period of 16 up to days, under refrigeration at 5± 1oc and 95 ± 5 % rh. finally the assays techniques let to extend the commercial value of these vegetables.

Abstract: This paper describes the life of a university museum that was born in the 1980s and transformed in the 21st century. Over a period of 25 years Professor Reverte collected more than 3700 objects and set up an authentic cabinet of curiosities dedicated to the fields of anthropology and forensic science. Despite the diversity of its contents, the museum had a recognized scientific interest. It has now undergone changes in order to meet the requirements of new academic demands and public accessibility, but without losing reference to its origins.

Abstract: This article derives from a critical discourse analysis study that reports the characteristics of elementary school students' power and solidarity relations in English as a foreign language classroom in Bogotá, Colombia, while we were doing our teaching English as a foreign language practicum. The study was based on theories of power and solidarity. The findings suggest that there are different forms of exercising power and solidarity in the classroom. Power can be resisted, challenged, or exercised by means of reproaches. Solidarity can take the form of taking sides to protect friends. These findings allow us to be aware of the complexities of the English language class. Este artículo se deriva de un estudio de análisis crítico del discurso que reporta las características de las relaciones de poder y solidaridad presentes en una clase de inglés como lengua extranjera, en un colegio de primaria. Para este estudio, que se realizó durante nuestra práctica pedagógica en inglés, empleamos la metodología de análisis crítico del discurso y las teorías de poder y de solidaridad. Los resultados reflejan que hay diferentes formas de ejercer poder y solidaridad en el salón de clase. El poder puede ser resistido, retado o ejercido con reproches hacia los demás, en tanto que la solidaridad puede caracterizase por tomar partido para proteger a los amigos. Estos resultados nos permiten ser conscientes de las complejidades que se presentan en la clase de lengua inglesa.
