Endometritis therapy in sows by intra uterine instillation of yeast cell wall solution
Lazarevi? M.,Milovanovi? A.,Barna T.,Miljas N.
Acta Veterinaria , 2012, DOI: 10.2298/avb1206611l
Abstract: On the basis of our investigations it was possible to conclude that intrauterine treatment of sows with puerperal uterine infections with sterile YCW (Yeast Cell Wall) resulted in significant clinical improvement. The percent of recidivism was the lowest (10%) in groups of sows treated with 10 and 20 g of YCW. The degree of bacterial CFU (Colony Forming Units) reduction in samples of sows uterine flushings following instillation of YCW (5, 10 and 20 g) was wery high and ranged from 1361 to 1444 times, while in sows treated with Lotagen 2% solution (100 mL) this parametar was only 32. At the moment of weaning, piglets from sows treated with 10 and 20 g of YCW were heavier when compared to the control and Lotagen group and their DBWG (Daily Body Weight Gain) was higher when compared to the Lotagen and control group. Treatment of sows by IU instillation of YCW did not influence the number of piglets in the next breeding cycle.
Observables and initial conditions for rotating and expanding fireballs with spheroidal symmetry
T. Csorgo,M. I. Nagy,I. F. Barna
Physics , 2015,
Abstract: Utilizing a recently found class of exact, analytic rotating solutions of non-relativistic fireball hydrodynamics, we calculate analytically the single-particle spectra, the elliptic flows and two-particle Bose-Einstein correlation functions for rotating and expanding fireballs with spheroidal symmetry. We demonstrate, that rotation generates final state momentum anisotropies even for a spatially symmetric, spherical initial geometry of the fireball. The mass dependence of the effective temperatures, as well as the HBT radius parameters and the elliptic flow are shown to be sensitive not only to radial flow effects but also to the magnitude of the initial angular momentum.
B ségszaru és hadijelvény. Concordia a katonacsászárok korának érempropagandájában
Barna, Ferenc
Argumentum , 2012,
Abstract: Concordia, the goddess of unity and harmony, was an important figure in the coinage of the age of soldier Emperors, the period between Severus Alexander’s death (235) and Diocletian’s accession to the throne (284). The representation of Concordia became especially frequent during the second half of the period, in the reign of Aurelian and Probus, when her military aspect was emphasized. Before this era Concordia was represented with a patera and a cornucopiae, but from Claudius Gothicus and Aurelian ensigns started to be her most frequent attributes. However, these representations can not be seen as entirely new phenomena since their elements had been parts of the coinage system for centuries. The difference might be highlighted by two major aspects: the prevalence of Concordia and the prevalence of her attributes. The article makes an attempt to give an overview of this transformation.
égi istenek, f ldi célok. Az istenek megjelenése és szerepe a római érempropagandában a katonacsászárok korának második felében – a sisciai verde els évtizedeiben megfigyelhet jellegzetességek

Abstract: The figures represented on the reverse sides of the Roman coins can tell a lot about the traditions of the Roman coinage, the everyday need of the imperatorial propaganda, as well as the cultural and religious aspects of those territories where they were used.In my article I focus on the latter phenomenon and on the first decades of the Siscian mint (262-285). I concentrate on the representation of some gods, namely Iuppiter Mars, Hercules, Dea Roma, Sol.
The Role of Price Floor in a Differentiated Product Retail Market
Barna Bako
Economic Analysis and Policy , 2010,
Abstract: The ability of a manufacturer to enhance competition among its retailers by imposing a price floor was recently introduced in the literature. The purpose of this article is to revisit this anti-collusive explanation of the retail price maintenance in a more general model in which we introduce asymmetric retailers. We find that a manufacturer can amplify the retail market's competition by imposing a price floor when retailers sell differentiated products. This result contradicts the prevailing concept of retail price maintenance.
MEASURING REGIONAL COMPETITIVENESS
Katalin Barna
Journal of Central European Agriculture , 2007,
Abstract: European Union measures competitiveness of regions on the basis of gross domestic product (GDP) per capita which means goods and services produced in a year by one inhabitant of a given spatial unit. As a sole index of regional competitiveness GDP cannot produce exact outcome since it includes incomes their possessors can drive away from the given region. In other aspects, however, GDP is based on real, objective data, so it is purely driven by economics, therefore it hardly can integrate other factors just as the ones being important in determining the life standards of the inhabitants in that region. As to our knowledge no model was introduced that can take both objective and subjective factors into consideration in being able to describe the changes in a complex way. Of course it is not the model maker to blame, but the question itself points out the basic problem that makes elaboration of a complex model or index rather difficult.
