A method of realization of bialgebras, and Hopf algebras associated to some realizations
Eric Mourre
Physics , 2003,
Abstract: This article introduces a method, which starting from simple and quite general mathematical data, allows to construct linear algebras of operators which are, each of them, endowed with a bialgebra structure (coproduct and counity). Moreover under some explicit and natural conditions on theses mathematical data we obtain linear algebras of operators with the following property: each of them, is either a Hopf algebra, or its bialgebra structure determines a more abstract Hopf algebra associated with it. Finally, we describe a more general abstract condition for theses bialgebras to admit a unique associated Hopf algebra. The presentation is adapted to the cases where the algebras of linear operators are not finitely generated. This article is restricted to the exposition of the method of construction and to the proofs of existence and uniqueness of the structures associated with each algebra of linear operators that are constructed. Nevertheless, it may be noticed that the ideals of relations associated with bialgebras that are obtained determine an algebraic domain which is of theoretical interest .
Realizations of Bialgebras (II) : Duality Theorem
Eric Mourre
Mathematics , 2005,
Abstract: From the method of realization of bialgebras developped in a preceding paper, we obtain the Duality Theorem and apply it to the study of the ideal of relations for each realized bialgebra. This is detailed in the english version of the abstract of this paper.
Bialgebra Realization (3). Induced Module, Envelopping Bialgebra, Dual. The Example of the Integration of Classical Vectors Fields
Eric Mourre
Mathematics , 2006,
Abstract: In this article an interpretation and a proof of some classical \\theorems in analysis on the integration of analytic vectors fields are derived from the algebraic method of realization of bialgebras which are constructed with the data of a linear application from a coalgebra into the algebra of right (or left) invariant operators on an approximated coalgebra. The results are obtained from these general algebraic construction and theorems by introducing the more restrictive notion of induced module. Then the associated envelopping bialgebra is defined and naturally belongs to the dual of the tensor algebra over the approximated coalgebra .An interesting technical contribution is due to the "coproduct", or coproducts given by the approximated coalgebra, in the classical case of vectors fields at least.
Theorem on six vertices of a plane curve via the Sturm theory
L. Guieu,E. Mourre,V. Yu. Ovsienko
Mathematics , 1995,
Abstract: We discuss the theorem on the existence of six points on a convex closed plane curve in which the curve has a contact of order six with the osculating conic. (This is the ``projective version'' of the well known four vertices theorem for a curve in the Euclidean plane.) We obtain this classical fact as a corollary of some general Sturm-type theorems.
Super-ensemble techniques applied to wave forecast: performance and limitations
F. Lenartz,J.-M. Beckers,J. Chiggiato,B. Mourre
Ocean Science (OS) & Discussions (OSD) , 2010, DOI: 10.5194/os-6-595-2010
Abstract: Nowadays, several operational ocean wave forecasts are available for a same region. These predictions may considerably differ, and to choose the best one is generally a difficult task. The super-ensemble approach, which consists in merging different forecasts and past observations into a single multi-model prediction system, is evaluated in this study. During the DART06 campaigns organized by the NATO Undersea Research Centre, four wave forecasting systems were simultaneously run in the Adriatic Sea, and significant wave height was measured at six stations as well as along the tracks of two remote sensors. This effort provided the necessary data set to compare the skills of various multi-model combination techniques. Our results indicate that a super-ensemble based on the Kalman Filter improves the forecast skills: The bias during both the hindcast and forecast periods is reduced, and the correlation coefficient is similar to that of the best individual model. The spatial extrapolation of local results is not straightforward and requires further investigation to be properly implemented.

The purpose of this study was to determine the psychosocial environmental barriers to school attendance by children with disabilities in Rwanda. A quantitative, cross-sectional, descriptive study was conducted in one urban and one rural community-based rehabilitation centre. There was a sample of 94 parents or caregivers of children with disabilities who were not attending school. A structured closed-ended questionnaire was used. The Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) (15.0 version) was used for data analysis. The data analysis included descriptive statistics as frequency distributions and percentages. The data werepresented in the forms of cross-tables. CHI-Square was used to determine the association between variables. The level of significance (alpha) was set at 0.05. The findings indicate that in Rwanda there is a negative attitude among parents/caregivers and the community towards children with disabilities. Many parents/caregivers reported that having a child with a disability is a burden and shame in their families. A great proportion of parents/caregivers also indicated that, if they needed to make a choice, they would prioritise education for their child without the disability over their child with the disability. The majority reported the special school to be their first choice for their children with disabilities. Others reported that the community gave their children different abusive names. About the teachers’ attitude, a high proportion of parents/caregivers said that the teachers told them that their children had to go to the schools for other children with disabilities. Awareness creation and attitudinal change about disability issues are needed in Rwandese society to promote schooling for children with disabilities for the successful Education for All goals.

Qualitative Datenanalyse: Gemeinsame Phasen, verschiedene Strategien Qualitative Data Analysis: Common Phases, Strategic Differences Análisis de datos cualitativos: Fases comunes, diferencias estratégicas

Forum : Qualitative Social Research , 2001,
URN: urn:nbn:de:0114-fqs0103226 This paper lays out an analytic framework to help rookie qualitative researchers recognize and appreciate common features of qualitative data analysis (QDA) while giving due consideration to strategic differences resulting from differences in expertise, context, and philosophy. The paper does not identify or illustrate specific QDA strategies. Rather, it raises questions the responsible analyst might consider at each phase of the process. I argue that all QDA (regardless of methodological or disciplinary orientation) comprise four interrelated phases: defining the analysis, classifying data, making connections between data, and conveying the message(s). This paper discusses the first three phases.
A "forced convergence" ?Ethnography of a collaboration between neurology and psychiatry in a French neuroscience center.

The rise of neurosciences has led certain neurologists and psychiatrists to consider the idea of the merger of their clinical specialties in a common neuropsychiatric discipline. Based on an ethnography of the use of a therapeutic technology for the treatment of neurological and psychiatric disorders in a neuroscience center, this article explores the epistemological status of psychiatry, its methods and its objects. I describe the research and therapeutic organizations within which neurologists and psychiatrists collaborate and the forms of practices, perspectives of patients and disorder definitions that are shaped therein. The technology opens common spaces of practice for the actors. It also creates an opportunity for psychiatry and neurology to provide symmetrical questionings of clinical events. However, the neuropsychiatric project appears to be bounded by the irreducibility of the psychiatric patient and disorder to biological determinism.
