Microstructure-Property Relationship in Self-Crosslinked Non-Derivative Acetic Acid Lignin-Containing Polyurethane Membranes  [PDF]

Abstract:
With the assistance of different solvents, self-crosslinked acetic acid lignin-containing polyurethane (LPU) membranes were synthesized. Compared with tetrahydrofuran and dioxane, N, N-dimethylacetamide with stronger polarity together with higher boiling point was demonstrated to be beneficial for preparing LPU particles of smaller size and enhanced binding force. It was also found that lignin domain can interpenetrate into polyurethane domain well with 43.3% lignin addition, resulting in enhanced phase mixing and better performance. In addition, relative homogeneous and smooth LPU membrane can be obtained with 2% TMP addition, while stress crack took place when TMP content was greater than 3%.
Validated UPLC/Q-TOF-MS Method for Determination of Poliumoside in Rat Plasma and Its Application to Pharmacokinetic Study  [PDF]

Abstract: Poliumoside is the main active constituent of Callicarpa kwangtungensis Chun (CK), a traditional Chinese medicine for management of hemostasis. In this study, a rapid and selective ultra-performance liquid chromatography coupled with quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry (UPLC/ Q-TOF-MS) method was developed and validated to quantify poliumoside in rat plasma. The targeted analytes in rat plasma were prepared through protein-precipitation method using 10% trichloroacetic acid (TCA). The chromatographic separation was performed on a Waters BEH C18 column (2.1 × 100 mm, 1.7 μm) by acetonitrile-water containing 0.1% formic acid. The calibration curve was linear over the range of 50 - 10,000 ng/mL (r2 > 0.99). The intra-day or inter-day precision was less than 7.97% and accuracy was within ?7.00% - 3.36%. The developed method was successfully applied to pharmacokinetic study of poliumoside in rat plasma. Although being rapidly absorbed (Tmax ≤ 30 min), poliumoside was poorly bioavailable after oral administration (the absolute bioavailability was only 0.69%).
A novel method of DNA shuffling without PCR process

Abstract: Most DNA shuffling methods currently used require PCR process. A novel method of DNA shuffling without PCR process is described, taking advantage of the feature of some restriction enzymes whose recognition sites differ from their cleavage sites, thus giving rise to different cohesive ends. These cohesive ends can be rejoined at their native sites from different parental sequences, generating new sequences with various combinations of mutations.
Enhancing disease resistances of Super Hybrid Rice with four antifungal genes

Abstract: A plant expression vector harboring four antifungal genes was delivered into the embryogenic calli of ‘9311’, an indica restorer line of Super Hybrid Rice, via modified biolistic particle bombardment. Southern blot analysis indicated that in the regenerated hygromycin-resistant plants, all the four antifungal genes, including RCH10, RAC22, β-Glu and B-RIP, were integrated into the genome of ‘9311’, co-transmitted altogether with the marker gene hpt in a Mendelian pattern. Some transgenic R1 and R2 progenies, with all transgenes displaying a normal expression level in the Northern blot analysis, showed high resistance to Magnaporthe grisea when tested in the typical blast nurseries located in Yanxi and Sanya respectively. Furthermore, transgenic F1 plants, resulting from a cross of R2 homozygous lines with high resistance to rice blast with the non-transgenic male sterile line Peiai 64S, showed not only high resistance to M. grisea but also enhanced resistance to rice false smut (a disease caused by Ustilaginoidea virens) and rice kernel smut (another disease caused by Tilletia barclayana).
Inheritance and expression of multiple disease and insect resistance genes in transgenic rice

Abstract: 2–3 anti-fungal disease genes are coinserted with hygromycin phosphotransferase in the same vector. Two insecticidal genes and PPT acetyl transferase genes are placed in another one. The vectors are co-delivered to rice embryonic cellus tissue at a molar ratio of 1 : 1 using the particle gun method. 55 independent regenerated lines have been obtained through screening for hygromycin resistance. Of these, 70% transgenic plants harbor 6–7 foreign genes. The genes on the same vectors are always co-delivered to rice plant. Northern blot analysis has indicated that the multiple foreign genes give stable expression. In the 6 transgenic plants carrying 6–7 foreign genes, multiple foreign genes tend to integrate in 1 or 2 genetic loci. Progeny segregation is consistent with Mendel’s 3 : 1 segregation law. 8 homozygous R1 transgenic plants harboring 2–3 anti-fungal and 2 insecticidal genes are selected from large number of transgenic progeny screening for hygromycin and Basta resistance.

Abstract: 在大量动三轴试验的基础上,对压实黄土的动力特性进行研究.试验结果表明:压实黄土的动应力-应变曲线在一定条件下近似为双曲线模型,并得到部分试样的模型参数取值.压实黄土动弹性模量随着动应变的增加而减小,逐渐趋于稳定,并且在不同干密度、不同含水率及不同围压状态下变化趋势基本相同.阻尼比受含水率、固结应力比、干密度及围压等因素的影响,综合反映为随动应变的增加而增加,取值为0.2~0.3,但离散性较强.振陷变形与干密度、含水率及荷载作用次数有着密切关系,干密度愈大,含水量越小,振动次数愈大;在同等的应力条件下,振陷变形愈小,并且存在一临界动应力.当动应力小于该值时,振陷变形较小,与动应力近似线性关系;当动应力大于该值时,振陷变形增加较快,呈现明显的非线性.

Abstract: 研究了双连杆柔性臂轨迹跟踪的鲁棒控制问题,基于假设模态法和奇异摄动法,导出了双连杆柔性臂系统的动力学方程,并将系统模型分离为慢变和快变两个子系统。针对柔性臂的特点,提出了关节角的补偿控制思想,并且给出了补偿控制算法,对两个子系统分别采用滑模变结构控制和H^∞控制,由此得到的组合控制使系统精确跟踪目标轨迹,研制了双连杆柔性臂实验台,并对文中提出的方法进行了实验。
How to Develop Chinese Flower Auction Markets: Results from a Comparative Analysis  [PDF]

Abstract: For the vast majority of floriculture business, the auction is the best way to realize an assortment of flowers with as broad a scope as possible, produced across the world, and available for market price. FloraHolland is the largest and successful flower auction market in the world and approximately 44 million cut flowers and 4.8 million houseplants and garden plants are traded daily. But the operation of Chinese flower auction markets is not so successful that some researchers have concluded that the auction method doesn’t suit to Chinese practice. This paper compares operational goals and performances of FloraHolland with Kunming, International Flower Auction Market (KIFA), which are two typical flower auction markets in the two countries. Finally, the paper gives five crucial advices for developing Chinese flower auction markets: transit of service strategies, cultivation of participants' network, establishing standardization, clever mechanism design and avoiding some factors impairing successful auction, and improving on operational performance continuously. Auction method will have a bright perspective in Chinese flowers trade in the future.
