Estimation of Reliability for Stress-Strength Cascade Model  [PDF]
Rohit R. Mutkekar, Surekha B. Munoli
Open Journal of Statistics (OJS) , 2016, DOI: 10.4236/ojs.2016.65072
Abstract: The study endeavors to provide statistical inference for a (1 + 1) cascade system for exponential distribution under joint effect of stress-strength attenuation factors. Estimators of reliability function are obtained using Maximum Likelihood Estimator (MLE) and Uniformly Minimum Variance Unbiased Estimator (UMVUE) of the parameters. Asymptotic distribution of the parameters is also obtained. Comparison between estimators is made using data obtained through simulation experiment.
Modelling and Assessment of Survival Probability of Shock Model with Two Kinds of Shocks  [PDF]
Surekha B. Munoli, Suhas ?
Open Journal of Statistics (OJS) , 2019, DOI: 10.4236/ojs.2019.94033
Abstract: The study aims at modelling and assessment of survival probability of a component experiencing two kinds of shocks namely, damage shock and fatal shock. Shocks are occurring randomly in time as events of a Poisson Process. The two cases of fixed/random threshold of components are studied. Survival probabilities of proposed models are derived. Maximum likelihood estimators (MLEs) of survival probabilities are obtained using the data from life testing experiments. Fisher information and asymptotic distribution of MLEs of parameters are obtained when a constant threshold is considered. Computation and comparison of estimators of two cases (constant threshold and random threshold) are made through simulation studies. The study recommends the consideration of threshold as a random variable.
Visual Secret Sharing Based Digital Image Watermarking
B. Surekha,G N Swamy
International Journal of Computer Science Issues , 2012,
Abstract: In this paper, a spatial domain image watermarking technique based on Visual Secret Sharing (VSS) and unique statistical properties is proposed. A random looking image is generated during watermark hiding process and is secretly registered with an arbitrator for verification during conflicts. Another random looking image is generated during watermark revelation stage and is combined with the existing one, to recover the watermark. This whole process is done without altering the image to be protected and hence the quality of the cover image is high. When compared with similar existing techniques, the proposed technique has three main advantages: Provides greater convenience in carrying and storing the intermediate images called shares; Provides high security; Reduce tradeoff between spatial and frequency domain techniques in terms of robustness

Modern Research in Catalysis (MRC) , 2016, DOI: 10.4236/mrc.2016.51004
Abstract: A simple, multi component, one-pot method has been reported for the synthesis of poly substituted imidazoles in presence of magnetically separable and recyclable spinel nano copper ferrite as heterogeneous catalyst by the cyclo-condensation of benzil, aromatic aldehyde, ammonium acetate and substituted amines under ultrasonic irradiation. This method of preparation has many advantages compared to those methods which are previously reported in the literature. This methodology offers simple experimental procedure, milder reaction conditions and environmentally benign approach.
Molecular Docking Studies of Alpinia galanga Phytoconstituents for Psychostimulant Activity  [PDF]
Santhy Sivanandan, Surekha Pimple
Advances in Biological Chemistry (ABC) , 2018, DOI: 10.4236/abc.2018.84006
Abstract: Dopamine is a neurotransmitter responsible for sending signals from the central nervous system. It allows human beings to stay attentive and focused. Caffeine, the most widely consumed psychoactive substance in the world, is known to improve alertness by enhancing dopamine signaling in the brain. EnXtra®, an Alpinia galanga extract has been clinically proven to promote alertness however the mechanism for such action required elucidation. The current study was designed to explore the mechanism for the neurocognitive enhancing property of EnXtra® by the in-silico interaction of its potential compounds with various targets involved in such process namely Dopamine and Acetylcholinesterase (AchE). As evident by the outcomes of the study, active compounds of EnXtra® can block the dopamine reuptake thereby increasing the dopamine levels which further can enhance the visuospatial performance and mental clarity, leading to improved mental alertness. At the same time, its strong effect on Acetylcholinesterase receptors is indicative of its nootropic potential.
Looped External Iliac Artery: a Case Report

International Journal of Morphology , 2012, DOI: 10.4067/S0717-95022012000300017
Abstract: variations of the external iliac artery are very rare. we found a rare variation in the left external iliac artery. the artery was long and formed a characteristic loop. the loop was found in the lesser pelvis in close relation to the obturator nerve. this loop may compress obturator nerve and vessels. the knowledge of this loop might be important for gynaecologists, orthopaedic surgeons and urologists since it may be involved in surgeries of hip, ovary and prostate.

Annam Vamseedhar,Korishetty S,Yelikar B,Hippargi Surekha
Indian Journal of Pathology and Microbiology , 2010,
Abstract: Congenital cystic adenomatoid malformation (CCAM) of the lung, Stocker′s type III is a rare anomaly characterized by replacement of normal pulmonary tissue with cysts of variable size and distribution. We report here a 16-week stillborn fetus with Stocker′s type III bilateral CCAM involving the entire lungs. The additional associated malformations included collapsed nasal bridge, low set ears, malformed ears, absence of neck folds, absence of nipples and areolas, tracheal stenosis, fetal hydrops and small heart. The pathogenesis, radiological findings, pathological findings and prognosis of CCAM are discussed along with review of literature.
VULVAR MELANOMA- A CASE REPORT AND SHORT LITERATURE REVIEW
Surekha Tayade,Poonam V Shivkumar,V. B. Shivkumar,Atul Tayade
International Journal of Biomedical and Advance Research , 2012, DOI: 10.7439/ijbar.v3i2.329
Abstract: Malignant melanomas of the vulva and vagina are rare tumors located in areas of the body not exposed to ultraviolet radiation. It is the second most common vulvar malignancy but represents less than 1% of all melanomas. Because the overall prognosis is poor, it represents a signi cant issue in womena€ s health. Because of the inherent dif culty in performing large studies of vulvar melanoma, many questions about the biology, etiology, risk factors, and optimal management remain unanswered. Research for vulvar cancer is ongoing. We are presenting here a case report and short literature review of the case.
