ETNOGRAFíAS SOCIO-TERRITORIALES DE LA MIGRACIóN Y LA MOVILIDAD EN EL MAGDALENA MEDIO: Los casos de la avalancha de Armero, la Reserva de Mariquita y la gentrificación de Honda
NATES CRUZ,BéATRIZ;
Luna Azul , 2010,
Abstract: this article describes certain types of migration and mobility in mariquita, armero-guayabal and honda, municipalities belonging to the mid magdalena river basin in caldas and tolima (colombia). the problem presented is how migration and mobility are neither univocal processes nor they can they be studied from a unique dynamic; on the contrary, they crosslink circumstances not only of the causes of this phenomena but also of the implications in the arrival or reception places which, together (causes and implications) explain the existence of people, goods and services migrations and mobility. the methodology used was the ethnographic multi-plane method taking as a reference discourse the live voices of the narrators which were interviewed at different times and sceneries of their own municipalities during 2008 and 2009.

Nates Cruz,Béatriz;
Co-herencia , 2011,
Abstract: based on the concept of territory, some key concepts such as deterritorialization, center-periphery, and place/non-place are shown. this article doesn't pretend to go beyond a revision of the latter, presenting it by means of theoretical approximations and ethnographical references.

Thinking the World, Practicing the Social Environment: Ethnographies and Reflections from an Anthropology of Territorialities
Nates Cruz, Beatriz
Revista de Dialectología y Tradiciones Populares , 2009,
Abstract: This article will anthropologically present and analyze the configurations and the forms taken by the definition and location of the world and the social environment as philosophical postulates, and as physical and geographical objectivations among different cultures: the natives and Yanaconas of the Colombian Massif, the “paisas” of the Central Colombian Andes, and the southern France and northern Spain inhabitants in their relationship with immigrants of northern Europe. Even though there is a cultural, physical and social distance, the contents will frequently have relational postures.

Abstract: human astroviruses have been increasingly identified as important agents of diarrheal disease in children. however, the disease burden of astrovirus infection is still incompletely assessed. this paper reports results on the epidemiological and clinical characteristics of astrovirus-associated diarrhea, as well as the impact of astrovirus infection on the ambulatory setting at a public hospital in córdoba city, argentina. from february 2001 through january 2002, 97 randomly selected outpatient visits for diarrhea among children < 36 months old were enrolled. a single specimen of stool from each child was collected and tested for astrovirus antigen by enzyme immunoassay. astroviruses were detected in 12.37% of the diarrheal episodes. all the positive cases occurred in children 4 to 18 months, but the highest rate was in children aged 4 to 6 months (23.80%). the clinical symptoms of astrovirus associated-diarrhea were fever 41.66%, vomiting 25.00% and dehydration 8.33%; overall 16.66% required hospitalization. astrovirus was identified through the year and no seasonally pattern was detected (cool semester 15.21% versus warm semester 9.80% p > 0.05). according to our estimation about one out of seventy-four children in this cohort would be assisted annually for an astroviral-diarrheal episode in the public hospital and one out of eight diarrheal cases could be attributed to astrovirus infection. astrovirus is a common symptomatic infection in pediatric outpatient visits in the public hospital in the study area, contributing 12.37% of the overall morbidity from diarrhea.
GENéTICA DEL COMPORTAMIENTO:: ABEJAS COMO MODELO
NATES-PARRA,GUIOMAR;
Acta Biológica Colombiana , 2011,
Abstract: the honeybee apis mellifera (apidae) is a model widely used in behavior because of its elaborate social life requiring coordinate actions among the members of the society. within a colony, division of labor, the performance of tasks by different individuals, follows genetically determined physiological changes that go along with aging. modern advances in tools of molecular biology and genomics, as well as the sequentiation of a. mellifera genome, have enabled a better understanding of honeybee behaviour, in particular social behaviour. numerous studies show that aspects of worker behaviour are genetically determined, including defensive, hygienic, reproductive and foraging behaviour. for example, genetic diversity is associated with specialization to collect water, nectar and pollen. also, control of worker reproduction is associated with genetic differences. in this paper, i review the methods and the main results from the study of the genetic and genomic basis of some behaviours in bees.
