Scavenger Receptors and Atherosclerosis
RIGOTTI,ATTILIO;
Biological Research , 2000, DOI: 10.4067/S0716-97602000000200009
Abstract: scavenger receptors were discovered as cell surface proteins capable of binding and internalization of modified lipoproteins. these receptors exhibit a broad ligand binding specificity including potential physiological and pathophysiological ligands other than modified lipoproteins. different classes of scavenger receptors have been identified, and their relevance in normal and pathological conditions is under investigation. recent in vitro and in vivo studies strongly support the role of class a and class b scavenger receptors in lipid transport atherogenesis

The Cadastral Database: considerations for acomplete revision The update of the Italian Cadastral system, in its various as-pects related to the geometric mapping, the register of real estate and related taxation, continues to be an exciting topic on which industry experts discuss since many years.
Half century after the death of Umberto Nistri In the photogrammetric world literature, two are the names of Italians people understood without doubts as pioneers of this discipline: Umberto Nistri and Ermenegildo Santoni. The first maybe is best known, his name being linked to the advent of analytical photogram-metry: the first plotting instrument of this type is in fact the work of the U.S. Ben-dix, for the electronic part, and the OMI of Rome, founded by Nistri precisely in 1924, for the photogrammetric part.

Language theory and expert systems
Attilio Agodi
Le Matematiche , 1988,
Abstract: Some remarks on the problem of knowledge representation and processing, as recognized in connection with the use of computers in the scientific research work, emphasizes the relevance of these problems for the studies on both the theory of languages and the expert system. A consideration of the common traits in the recent history of these studies, with reference to the use of computers on texts in natural language motivates the introduction of set theoretic and algebraic methods, suitable for applications in the analysis and in the automatic treatment of languages, based on the concept of model sets and on relational structures suggested from the connections between syntax and semantics evidenced in some example of sub-languages corresponding to theories of different classes of physical phenomena. Some details of these methods are evidenced, which have already successfully used or whose applications appears suggestive of interesting development.

Tourism Destination Positioning in the Global Tourism Market: Measuring and modelling holiday destination selection
Attilio Gardini
Almatourism , 2010,
Abstract: The success in international competition in a given industry depends on the “factor conditions” or “drivers” of competitiveness. Among the models of destination competitive position, the paper presents an econometric model for support the estimation of destination competitiveness empirical index at the micro level. The measurement of tourism demand for each destination and the identification of the factors which drive the transformation on the demand schedule in consumption choices is the final goal of this survey (stratified sample of 1200 Italian tourists).
Attilio Stella
Scrineum Rivista , 2011,
Abstract: This paper consists in a critical edition of 23 documents (1166-1183), stored in Fondo Veneto I within the Secret Vatican Archive, amongst the papers of the church of S. Giorgio in Braida of Verona, published here as an integration of Andrea Gloria’s Codice diplomatico padovano (1877-1881). Counting on more than 1900 documents and covering a chronology from 6th century to 1183, the Codice is nowadays the most complete collection concerning Padua and its territory in the Middle Ages. Fondo Veneto is a documentary resource including pre-1668 documentation of more than 40 ecclesiastical bodies located in the Serenissima Republic territory. Originally stored in Venice, this corpus was transferred to Vatican City in 1836. This paper’s introduction, besides offering a brief historical contextualization of these 23 documents, passes through different themes, such as the edition of the Codice, the historical and archivistic circumstances of Fondo Veneto and S. Giorgio in Braida, the notarial praxis and the role of notaries in rural areas.
A Measurement of the ATLAS Di-Muon Trigger Efficiency in Proton-Proton Collision at √s = 7 TeV
Picazio Attilio
EPJ Web of Conferences , 2012, DOI: 10.1051/epjconf/20122812037
Abstract: The B physics programme of the ATLAS experiment includes measurements of production cross sections, searches for rare B-decay signatures which are sensitive to new physics at the TeV energy scale and studies of CP violation effects in B-events, such as Bs0 → J/ψφ and Bd0 → J/ψKs0. The key to the detection of these B signals in ATLAS is to achieve a high trigger efficiency for low-pT di-muon events, whilst keeping an acceptable trigger rate. ATLAS developed two separate approaches for triggering on di-muon events from resonances such as J/ψ and Upsilon (γ). The first approach is to start from a di-muon trigger selected at Level-1 while the second is based on dedicated Level-2 algorithms. The performance for these triggers has been studied using collision data at √s = 7 collected in 2011.
