Abstract: this work was aimed at optimising control parameters for variable speed control and post-tensioning torque by controlling the current of dc motors forming part of a dynamic system (in a paper-making production line) by designing controllers based on absolute value and optimal symmetry criteria. a mathematical model representing an electric drive system for controlling dc motor speed and torque in a paper-rolling system was defined, a control algorithm adjusting the parameters was designed and an electric drive system simulated. the methodology consisted of a literature search and a field study for defining the model and establishing the parameters to be simulated, thereby presenting an analytical and descriptive project. the results led to observing the efficiency of the controllers so designed and the overall drive system for which speed and current (power) continue being the reference signal, leading to the conclusion that the criteria selected for control design were suitable and representing an input in developing applications for monitoring dynamic electric drive systems.
Accionamiento eléctrico de sistemas dinámicos a través de criterios de control óptimo Optimum control criteria for an electric driver for dynamic systems

This work was aimed at optimising control parameters for variable speed control and post-tensioning torque by con-trolling the current of DC motors forming part of a dynamic system (in a paper-making production line) by designing controllers based on absolute value and optimal symmetry criteria. A mathematical model representing an electric drive system for controlling DC motor speed and torque in a paper-rolling system was defined, a control algorithm adjusting the parameters was designed and an electric drive system simulated. The methodology consisted of a lite-rature search and a field study for defining the model and establishing the parameters to be simulated, thereby pre-senting an analytical and descriptive project. The results led to observing the efficiency of the controllers so designed and the overall drive system for which speed and current (power) continue being the reference signal, leading to the conclusion that the criteria selected for control design were suitable and representing an input in developing applica-tions for monitoring dynamic electric drive systems.
Socio-political effects of the Urra I hydroelectric construction in the Embera Catio Indigenous community (Colombia)
Morales-Ruiz,Madelaide; Pachón-Ariza,Fabio Alberto;
Agronomía Colombiana , 2010,
Abstract: the embera catio people live in the nudo de paramillo (high sinu river, western mountain chain at colombian andes) since ancient times. despite the circumstances that have surrounded them, they retain part of their culture and have sought to keep their forms of government and social relationships that govern life in community. however, the construction of the urra i hydroelectric encountered the embera catio with the deterioration of a significant part of their territory, losing sacred sites and lands for cultivation, as well as the emergence of social conflicts they were previously unaware of. this situation forced the indigenous group to change its social and organizational behavior, and to adapt to new environmental conditions. this work shows a parallel between before and after the construction of the urra i hydroelectric and subsequent effects on social and political organization brought by the river damming

A Continuation Method for Weakly Contractive Mappings under the Interior Condition
Ariza-Ruiz David,Jiménez-Melado Antonio
Fixed Point Theory and Applications , 2009,
Abstract: Recently, Frigon proved that, for weakly contractive maps, the property of having a fixed point is invariant by a certain class of homotopies, obtaining as a consequence a Leray-Schauder alternative for this class of maps in a Banach space. We prove here that the Leray-Schauder condition in the aforementioned result can be replaced by a modification of it, the interior condition. We also show that our arguments work for a certain class of generalized contractions, thus complementing a result of Agarwal and O'Regan.
A Continuation Method for Weakly Kannan Maps
Ariza-Ruiz David,Jiménez-Melado Antonio
Fixed Point Theory and Applications , 2010,
Abstract: The first continuation method for contractive maps in the setting of a metric space was given by Granas. Later, Frigon extended Granas theorem to the class of weakly contractive maps, and recently Agarwal and O'Regan have given the corresponding result for a certain type of quasicontractions which includes maps of Kannan type. In this note we introduce the concept of weakly Kannan maps and give a fixed point theorem, and then a continuation method, for this class of maps.

Existence and uniqueness to several kinds of differential equations using the Coincidence Theory
David Ariza-Ruiz,Jesus Garcia-Falset
Mathematics , 2014,
Abstract: The purpose of this article is to study the existence of a coincidence point for two mappings defined on a nonempty set and taking values on a Banach space using the fixed point theory for nonexpansive mappings. Moreover, this type of results will be applied to obtain the existence of solutions for some classes of ordinary differential equations.
