A Pure Capital Market Complementarity between Immigrants and Natives  [PDF]
Adolfo Cristóbal Campoamor
Modern Economy (ME) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/me.2015.612118
Abstract: This work presents a model aiming to evaluate the impact of rural-urban migration on the aggregate stock of loanable funds and investment by the urban population. Much higher investment costs for immigrants in cities prevent their acquisition of either human or physical capital. That is the reason why immigrants self-select as net lenders and affect urban labor earnings by means of the availability of new loanable funds for investment. This reduces the local interest rates and facilitates urban aggregate investment, especially by the new generations of natives. As a result of that, the aggregate labor income of natives increases unambiguously with the size of new immigration waves.

Salud, Arte y Cuidado , 2012,
Abstract: The purpose was to determine the nutritional status of the infants and children under six years old in the area of the type I ambulatory “Dr. José Maria Vargas” located in Veragacha, Irribarren county, Barquisimeto. A descriptive study was conducted in a nonprobabilisticsample of one hundred and three (103) kids from 1 month to 6 years old. A questionnaire was applied to the mothers and structured in: age, sex, socio-economic status and anthropometric data (height and weight). The anthropometric data was taken to the OMS’s tables and was interpreted according to the combination of indicators: eight/age,weight/height and height/age. The analysis showed the following results: According to the total of the sample: 66.0% presented normal nutritional status; 8.7% current malnutrition;6.8% low stature and 8.7% excess malnutrition. Most of children belonged to the stratum IV(77.0%) and was appreciated an increment of malnutrition in the lower stratums. There was no statistical signi cant difference between the variables under investigation. This work Decanato de Ciencias de la Salud. Universidad Centroccidental “Lisandro Alvarado” (UCLA)expects to stimulate the development of plans and programs that improve the nutritional status of the children in the area, the detection and the early correction of the current risk factors.
Environmental Sustainability Assessment of Electricity From Fossil Fuel Combustion: Carbon Footprint  [PDF]
Jorge Cristóbal, Jonathan Albo, Angel Irabien
Low Carbon Economy (LCE) , 2010, DOI: 10.4236/lce.2010.12011
Abstract: Emissions of greenhouse gases from electricity production should be reduced since climate change has became a big concern in developed countries. Carbon footprint is used as environmental index measuring the emissions that have effect on global warming and shows that secondary footprint has an important relevance in the final emission factor. To achieve sustainability in electricity production is required the consideration and evaluation of all relevant environ- mental impacts at the same time. Reduction in CO2 emissions is justified since clean combustion is achieved and global warming is the main contributor to global impacts.
Mapas mentales, sentido de lugar y procesos migratorios: la comunidad mexicana en Albuquerque (Nuevo México)
Cuadernos de Geografía - Revista Colombiana de Geografía , 2012,
Abstract: this essay explores the experiences and representations of places, as well as the sense of place, in order to understand the migratory and decision-making processes of mexican immigrants in albuquerque (new mexico). methodologically, the article focuses on an analysis of immigrants' mental maps and spatial discourses. as for the results, the strongest senses of place are found at the micro level, where identification with public spaces is associated with radical changes in the immigrants' lives. finally, the representations of mexico and the united states are key to understanding immigrants' intentions regarding their length of stay.
Espacios de innovación y transformación: el caso de IDEO
ARQ (Santiago) , 2007, DOI: 10.4067/S0717-69962007000200009
Abstract: work places are conceived as continuous and flexible processes, in which the actors involved develop creative organizational practices based on the flexibility for creating and recreating work spaces. the relationship between the work space, collaboration, creativity and innovation creates a climate of closeness and confidence that improves the performance of individuals and organizations.
Caminos de la Arqueología: de la violencia epistémica a la relacionalidad
Gnecco, Cristóbal;
Boletim do Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi. Ciências Humanas , 2009, DOI: 10.1590/S1981-81222009000100003
Abstract: archaeology has travelled many roads; some of them do not diverge but converge (they are changes of notation, not of content). an exercise on extreme simplification would posit that two of those roads, may be the most visible ones in the last years, lead to distant loci: (a) to the reproduction of epistemic violence against other societies and their histories (a modern project, to be sure, but also multicultural); and (b) to interdiscursive understanding. this paper is a sketch of the findings that anyone venturing into those roads could eventually make.
Hacia una narrativa de la naturaleza: la psicología ante el reto sustentable
Bravo F,Cristóbal;
Polis (Santiago) , 2010, DOI: 10.4067/S0718-65682010000200011
Abstract: considerable scientific research in different fields has been motivated by sustainable development model. such is the case of psychology which looks for behavioral andmental factors that take place in human-nature relations. even though the emerging field of environmental psychology has proposed itself stimulating sustainable conducts, it has been working within epistemological frameworks that tend to maintain modern worldview approaches related to environmental damage. narrative approaches of psychology are suggested here as an alternative method capable of subverting the epistemological order.

Abstract: abstract: the author criticises legal reasoning that is based on so-called "conflicts of human rights". he suggests, instead, to reason practically on the basis of the identification of species of acts.
Carmona Caldera,Cristóbal;
Revista de derecho (Valdivia) , 2009, DOI: 10.4067/S0718-09502009000200001
Abstract: an important element in the current conflicts between the state and the indigenous peoples in chile is related to the belief that national law is intrinsically above the indigenous peoples own law. this has generated the lack of its effective recognition in our legal system, which in turn intensifies the general state of intercultural injustice that these groups still live in. therefore, the present article suggests a review of the aforementioned premise of superiority, investigating the foundations of authority of state law, and proposes a new account of these matters, where these are intricately linked to violence. this new account should allow the opening of the official legal system to the basic fact of legal pluralism.

Abstract: the two great german thinkers karl jaspers and martin heidegger were very closefriends. the very fact that they personally met each other on april 8, 1920, in freiburg im breisgau, at the celebration of edmund husserl's 61st birthday may be considered as an historical date in the history of philosophy. among other things that we find in the "correspondence " between them, heidegger says in some letter: "in the silence i always philosophize withyou ". both thinkers proposed to form together a so called "fighting society " (kampfgemeinschaft), which would seek to introduce a new way of thinking in germany at that time. this common project is related with the fact that both felt themselves to be marginal thinkers, that did not belong to a philosophy that they dubbed "scholarly ". but this friendship had its peak and fall. what brought the break in 1933 was heidegger's adhesion to national-socialism. in fact, they never came together again, although the correspondence was renewed in the post-war period.
