La sociolingüística de los medios de comunicación
López González, Antonio María
Linguistik Online , 2002,
Abstract: This article shows the different kinds of approaches to the mass media from the sociolinguistics, and the meaning of these studies for the society itself. A variety of points of view and topics studied by authors throughout the world conform the sociolinguistic works on mass media. Several topics are discussed about press, radio and television: sociolinguistic prestige, linguistic uses in the media, production, product, reception, linguistic interaction, standardization, interaction between media and audience, media manipulation, didactic applications of the media, etc. The author presents a wide review of the works published in the last years on this issue. The article is accompanied by a long, comprehensive bibliographic chapter which indicates the studies of the sociolinguistics of mass media.
Abstract: Ononis reuteri Boiss, is considered to be a good species, clearly different from O. aragonensis Asso, and hs presence in North áfrica is confirmed. O. Hispanica L. f. is regarded as a nomen ambiguum, which should not be used. The classification of the O. natrix L. group is discussed and a new species of this group, O. talaverae Devesa & G. López, is described. O. crispa L., to the Balearic Islands endemic, is excluded from the Iberian Península flora. O. tridentate L. is typified. O. saxicola Boiss. & Reut. is considered to be merely a subspecies of O. pusilla L. The new combinations O. tridentata susbp. angustifolia (Lange) Devesa & G. López and O. pusilla var. calycina (Rouy) Devesa & G. López, are proposed.

The behavior of the transport of streptokinase antibodies from the mother to the newborn infant, as well as the factors influencing on it, were studied here. 125 blood samples were obtained from the antecubital vein of the puerperas and from the umbilical cord of their children. Surveys were done to collect data from the medical histories of the mothers and the newborn infants. An immunoenzimatic, heterogenous and qualitatitve sandwich doble antigen method was used to detect anti-streptokinase antibodies. According to the results, it was concluded that there is an active transport of anti-streptokinase antibodies from the mother to the fetus and that this transport is influenced by the chronological age of the mother, the gestational age, the mother’s nutritional status and the birth weight.

A sandwich, heterogenous, qualitative, doble antigen immunoenzimatic method was standardized to detect anti-streptokinase antibodies in pure samples of human serum. Different concentrations of the recovering antigen and conjugate dilutions, as well as various times and temperatures of incubation of the samples were assayed.
Anti-HBs antibody was obtained starting from the development of ascites in BALB/CBJ mice. Two groups of 8-month-old BALB/CBJ animals transgenic to HBsAg on an ad libitum water and food regimen were used. A group was inoculated anti-HBs antibody with a dose that doubled its concentration of HBsAg, whereas the other group was inoculated saline solution. 7 innoculations were made by the caudal vein with an interval of 5 days between them. A week after the last inoculation, blood was extracted and the immunocomplexes circulating in plasma were determined. Euthanasia was practiced and the aortas were extracted. The formation of plaques of atheromas was proved in a macroscopic way by observation on the stereoscopico and, microscopically, by staining with haematoxylin-eosin. Based on these results, it was concluded that an atherosclerosis model was attained in BALB/CBJ mice transgenic to HBsAg by the formation of immunocomplexes in a passive way.

Surgical Science (SS) , 2010, DOI: 10.4236/ss.2010.12008
Abstract: Aggressive angiomyxoma was first described in 1983 by Steeper and Rosai, and fewer than 150 cases have been reported in the world medical literature. It is a soft-tissue tumour of the pelvis and perineum. The recurrence rate is high, and often extensive resections are performed with considerable morbidity. These tumours are benign, locally infiltrative mesenchymal neoplasms with a predilection for the female pelvis and perineum and they usually tend to recur. Furthermore, these tumours often reach too large dimensions before becoming clinically symptomatic; their incidence is higher in women of the reproductive age group; however a few cases of its occurrence outside the pelvis have also been reported. In this study, we reported three cases with aggressive pelvic angiomyxoma treated with surgical methods and used an approach that described by Kraske in order to get access to lower rectal cancers. Accurate preoperative diagnosis should alert the surgeon to the need for wide excision, which is essential for prevention of local recurrence.
Pedestrian Navigation Based on a Waist-Worn Inertial Sensor
Juan Carlos Alvarez,Diego Alvarez,Antonio López,Rafael C. González
Sensors , 2012, DOI: 10.3390/s120810536
Abstract: We present a waist-worn personal navigation system based on inertial measurement units. The device makes use of the human bipedal pattern to reduce position errors. We describe improved algorithms, based on detailed description of the heel strike biomechanics and its translation to accelerations of the body waist to estimate the periods of zero velocity, the step length, and the heading estimation. The experimental results show that we are able to support pedestrian navigation with the high-resolution positioning required for most applications.
