Strategic determiners and factors of business management related to the defence industry

Abstract: the 21st century presents a scenario of challenges in matters of security and defence, in which the spanish armed forces (fas) and the defence systems (sde) both play a fundamental role. as a result, the spanish armed forces are immersed in professionalisation and modernisation, as derived from the european security and defence policy, from the objectives presented in the national defence directives, and the strategic defence review. this situation makes it necessary to count on companies related to the defence industry which favour the new model of fas and sde. the objectives set out in this study are: 1) the analysis of the determining factors for the modernisation and professionalisation of the fas and sde; as well as, 2) the analysis of the possible cooperation of the ministry of defence with external organisations. we seek to highlight the possible dependence between aspects linked to the variables of the ?focus for the organisation of defence (eod)?, and its results, the innovation and the measures of business excellence. we focussed the design of the investigation towards the study of the strategic determiners and the competitive changes which have occurred in the companies related to the defence industry.
Valuiting the cooperation inter-managerial in small sized fi rms of the Murcia, Micro and e-Micro proyects (2002-2007)

Abstract: The theoretical mark of the work has as purpose to explain the cooperation processes designed for the small sized fi rms, with the purpose of establishing proposals and arguments for the formation of agreements, to identify the factors that affect the development of the same ones, as well as the systems of national, regional innovation and local for the animation of the cooperation among signatures. With it, he/she intends a methodology to promote the cooperation among small sized fi rms, coordinated by local agents and the public administration of the projects Micro and and-micro (2002-2007) of the city of Murcia. The hypotheses were contrasted following a descriptive model and contingency test, using 88 small sized fi rms of Murcia. One of the main results was to show that the local authorities have an important paper in the development of the innovation systems and the development of cooperation measures in small sized fi rms.

Abstract: of the diverse profiles required for implementing knowledge management, perhaps the most important is the chief knowledge officer (cko). that person is in charge of creating a knowledge management infrastructure, leading it, and building a knowledge culture. after applying a logistical polytomic regression model to 88 msmes, this article analyzes the influence that the figure of cko has over creating relational capital (rc). the main conclusions drawn indicate that, although it is true that systemized knowledge in the form of agreements has a positive influence on the first levels of rc, it is also true that it will have trouble reaching the advanced levels of rc if the cko does not inculcate values in the stakeholders, such as trust, mutual benefit, and commitment.

Abstract: De los diversos perfiles necesarios para la implantación de la gestión del conocimiento, quizás el más importante sea el del oficial jefe del conocimiento(OJC). Es el encargado de crear una infraestructura de gestión del conocimiento, liderarla y construir una cultura del conocimiento. El presente trabajo, mediante la aplicación de un modelo de regresión logística politómica en 88 mipymes, analiza la influencia que la figura del OJC ejerce sobre la creación de capital relacional (CR). Las principales conclusiones apuntan a que si bien es cierto que el conocimiento sistematizado en forma de acuerdos ejerce una influencia positiva en los primeros niveles de CR, no es menos cierto que difícilmente se alcanzarán niveles avanzados de CR si el OJC no impulsa valores como la confianza, el beneficio mutuo y el compromiso entre los agentes implicados. Abstract: the article presented summarizes research work based on the method of case study to determine the suitability of the externalized intervention of the public administrations through the relational administration. the purpose is the tutelage of the management of new companies to reduce the rate of business closures. according to the studies analyzed some 80% of companies fail in the first five years.the objective is to explain how the public administrations can increase the knowhow of the entrepreneurs and to strengthen them in the first years of company life, once that management coherence has been increased it must become a strategic variable the use of which can augment the survival of the company. from the cases examined we have noted that to create a company is a difficult bureaucratic task. the administration acts more bureaucratically than intelligently and tutelage should be externalized by the public administration. generalized use of new information technologies should be made by all parties involved and that tutelage of entrepreneurs by professional is appropriate and that those who have failed in business prefer such tutoring to economic subsidies.

Abstract: The article summarizes the actions for the institutional strengthening and research projects for the training and research of the agribusiness capacities in Costa Rica and the Region of Murcia. The training of teachers, graduates and students; the knowledge of agribusiness and rural tourism companies, social economy and the development of agribusiness, the creation of spin-off, logistics and the operations of horticultural companies are some of the main objectives of academic cooperation projects for the development of the Central American countries and the European Union. These aspects of the research will lead to a better understanding of rural areas and agricultural activities to encourage the consolidation in the regions. El artículo resume las acciones de fortalecimiento institucional y proyectos de investigación para la formación e investigación de las capacidades de agronegocios en Costa Rica y la Región de Murcia. La formación del profesorado, egresados y estudiantes; el conocimiento de las agro empresas y la emprendimientos en turismo rural, la economía social y el desarrollo de los agronegocios, la creación de spin-off, la logística y las operaciones de empresas hortofrutícolas, son algunos de los objetivos principales de estos proyectos de cooperación académica para el desarrollo de los países de Centroamérica y la Unión Europea. Estos aspectos de la investigación llevarán a un mejor conocimiento de las zonas rurales y de las actividades agropecuarias para impulsar la consolidación en las regiones.

Abstract: Las entidades de la economía social que represen- tan el sector empresarial de mercado, con prácticas de buen gobierno en sus sistemas directivos, favo- recen positivamente el impacto socioeconómico en los territorios donde se asientan. En este trabajo se identifican que en las prácticas directivas de estas entidades, confluyen principios democráticos en pro del buen gobierno y de las economías solidarias, posibilitando la creación de más empleo estable y de calidad, en comparación con otro tipo de organi- zaciones empresariales tradicionalmente analizadas como de economía capitalista.Tras la revisión de la literatura se pone en relieve actualizadas cifras del país en lo referente al impacto socioeconómico y en particular los datos del empleo generado, el desa- rrollo local en zonas rurales, así como la integración socio-laboral.

Abstract: The companies when forming cooperation agree- ments develop innovation measures and new organizational forms. Through the alliances with a third partner (UT, joint-ventures, agreements with suppliers, commercial agreements) mechanisms pro- pellers of the innovation can be articulated in order to be more critic to compete the companies of social economy (EES). The objective of this study is to understand the capacities generated by the innovation used for collaborative processes. The empiric mark of the work has as purpose to study the cooperation processes taken by the EES of the Region of Murcia, with the purpose of knowing its arguments in the formation of agreements, to identify the variables that affect to its development, and to know the decisive factors that impel the EES, to the revitalization of cooperation processes and innovation. Las empresas, al formar acuerdos de cooperación, desarrollan medidas de innovación y nuevas formas organizacionales. Mediante las alianzas con terceros (UTEs, joint-ventures, acuerdos con proveedores, acuerdos comerciales) pueden articular mecanis- mos propulsores de la innovación, que a su vez son críticos para competir con las empresas de economía social (EES). El objetivo de este estudio es entender las capacidades generadas por la inno- vación, las cuales utilizan procesos colaborativos. El marco empírico del trabajo tiene como finalidad estudiar los procesos de cooperación llevados por las EES de la Región de Murcia, con el propósito de conocer sus argumentos en la formación de acuerdos, identificar las variables que afectan a su desarrollo y, conocer los factores determinantes que impulsan a las EES a la dinamización de procesos de cooperación e innovación.

Abstract: Corporate Social Responsibility (hereinafter CSR) may explain the achievement of competitive advan- tages. CSR aims to minimize the negative effects that several aspects of the organization cause in the environment. With the development of a CSR, businesses, in addition to carrying out “good prac- tices” in their activities, could be considered socially responsible agents, improving its image, status and corporate reputation. The relationship between CSR and financial performance has been the subject of controversial discussion for years. This research aims to provide new insights into this debate consi- dering as main objective to analyze how it influences the development of culture in terms of CSR and the contribution to the realization of the strategic dimensions or measures of CSR, on business per- formance. An empirical study with a sample of 226 companies in the agribusiness sector was developed. The results indicate that both the strategic dimen- sions that refer to the social values as CSR measures involving interest groups, influence business results. La Responsabilidad Social Corporativa (en adelante RSC) puede explicar el logro de ventajas competiti- vas. La RSC trata de minimizar los efectos negativos que ciertos aspectos de la organización provocan en el ambiente. Con el desarrollo de RSC, las empresas, además de llevar a cabo “buenas prácticas” en sus actividades, podrían ser consideradas agentes social- mente responsables y por consiguiente mejorarán su imagen, prestigio y reputación empresarial. La relación entre RSC y el rendimiento financiero ha sido objeto de un controvertido debate durante a os. La presente investigación pretende aportar nuevo conocimiento sobre este debate planteán- dose como objetivo principal analizar cómo influye el fomento de la cultura en materia de RSC y, la contribución a la concreción de las dimensiones estratégicas o medidas de RSC, en los resultados de las empresas. Para ello se ha realizado un estudio empírico con una muestra de 226 empresas del sector agroindustrial. Los resultados indican que las dimensiones estratégicas con sus respectivos valores sociales como las medidas de RSC en las que se incluyen a los grupos de interés tienen influencia en los resultados empresariales.
