Aprovechamiento sostenible de los pastizales
Salvador Rebollo,Antonio Gómez Sal
Ecosistemas , 2003,
A. Gómez Sal
Ecosistemas , 2007,

Abstract: the herbaceous biomass was evaluated in quercus pyrenaica woodlands in two seasons (spring and autumn) for three consecutive years (1999, 2000 and 2001), both in grazed and non-grazed areas. for this, we used the method of clipping and weighing, in 0.25 m side plots in both areas (10 and 9 quadrates of grazed and non-grazed land, respectively). this procedure was repeated in four black oak woodlands (freixedelo, sortes, rebordainhos and zido), all located in different environments and with different structures. the results show differences in the accumulated biomass among the various locations, seasons, years, and among the grazed and non-grazed plots. evidence shows the positive interaction between the wood and animal components, an essential condition for the silvopastoral approach in the management of these systems.
The influence of livestock management on land use competition between domestic and wild ungulates: sheep and chamois Rupicapra pyrenaica parva Cabrera in the Cantabrian range
Rebollo, S.,Robles, L.,Gómez-Sal, A.
Pirineos : Revista de Ecología de Monta?a , 1993,
Abstract: The spatial distribution and competition for the use of resources between sheep —transhumant merino— and chamois Rupicapra pyrenaica parva. Cabrera, 1910) has been analyzed during the summer grazing period in the Cantabrian range. The studied area, —a 750 ha. wide high pass— was divided into sectors depending on geophysical variables (substratum, aspect and elevation) and vegetation types. Sheep land use was analyzed by direct observation of the flock and by means of enquiries to the shepherd. Chamois were studied before and during the time sheep were present in the pastureland, with the help of fixed itineraries that enabled us to visually cover the whole area. The assessment of land use was carried out by corrected frequency and preference index for each of the studied environmental variables. Sheep grazed in the whole area excepting for beech woods (Fagus sylvatica), rocky and steep zones and dense scrub patches. The location of the sheepfolds —shelters, enclosures and associated pastures— is a key factor in the management of the pastoral system. They are usually placed in a central position from where the flock make their every day course, normally directed to higher zones, in the studied area, chamois distribution is limited by the scarcity of zones over 1.800 m., and by the strong sheep grazing pressure at all elevations. Chamois leave the areas grazed by the sheep flock, creating an almost total segregation. They occupy steep rocky slopes and the beech woods edges close to them, both situated furthest away from the sheepfolds.
Vélez Restrepo, L. A.,Gómez Sal, A.
Arbor : Ciencia, Pensamiento y Cultura , 2008, DOI: 10.3989/arbor.2008.i729.159
Abstract: A conceptual and analytical framework to assess ecological integrity at a landscape level. A concep tual and methodological approach for the ecological integrity analysis at landscape level is presented. The aim is providing a tool for land planning and nature conservation. With this purpose the meaning of integrity and related concepts are discussed, and a model to evaluate landscape integrity by a comprehensive scheme is proposed. The first index is based in metrics of landscape ecology theory (connectivity, cover of both conservation areas and human managed land, etc.) to evaluate the different ecosystem fragments pattern. The second one, an ecosystems integrity index, is focused to evaluate remnants with a structure close to maturity and evaluates the mathematical distance to a reference hypothetical composition. Finally, the agricultural area is evaluated by a coherence index, with emphasis in ecological processes but also including the natural structures with conservation functions. These indexes are combined in a model that facilitates the joint consideration of their values and the comparison with theoretical scenarios. The model allows us to develop a concurrent management of relevant variables that usually are associated to different environmental qualities. Because of its characteristics and the intermediate scale of application, the model constitutes an important tool for matching ecosystem integrity and land planning. Both are actions and concept and relevant for nature conservation and landscape management, but in general independently considered.
ERP Software Selection Processes: A Case Study inthe Metal Transformation Sector  [PDF]
Antonio Hidalgo, José Albors, Luis Gómez
Intelligent Information Management (IIM) , 2011, DOI: 10.4236/iim.2011.31001
Abstract: When a firm decides to implement ERP softwares, the resulting consequences can pervade all levels, includ- ing organization, process, control and available information. Therefore, the first decision to be made is which ERP solution must be adopted from a wide range of offers and vendors. To this end, this paper describes a methodology based on multi-criteria factors that directly affects the process to help managers make this de- cision. This methodology has been applied to a medium-size company in the Spanish metal transformation sector which is interested in updating its IT capabilities in order to obtain greater control of and better infor- mation about business, thus achieving a competitive advantage. The paper proposes a decision matrix which takes into account all critical factors in ERP selection.

Gómez Nashiki, Antonio;
Revista mexicana de investigación educativa , 2010,
Abstract: this project analyzes the micro-political dynamics of a public elementary school in mexico city. an ethnographic perspective shows the existence of a set of forces in permanent conflict at the school: constant confrontation between the instituting and the instituted. upon the retirement of the director, considered the founder, a stage of uncertainty began. during a short period of time, four directors filled the position, leading to various individual positions: power struggles, diversity of goals in play, emphasis on personal interests, and strategies and rivalries mobilized around the director's control. due to the lack of stability at the school, the supervisor's role and influence in each situation became a key factor in solving conflicts and maintaining institutional functioning.
