Abstract: dental trauma is perhaps one of the most dramatic accident in an individual and it is more evident in the pediatric odontology .an observational analytical study was performed in cases and controls from july 2005 to september 2006 aimed at determining some epidemiological characteristics of the dental trauma; the universe was comprised of 57 children from the "josé martí" provincial particular school in pinar del rio in the range of age of 5-9 and 10-14 years old and the sample was comprised of the universe where the child with clinical dental trauma was considered as a case ; and control , those patients without any trauma. both groups were comprised of 12 cases and 45 controls, more than two controls by case. an oral examination was carried out and the variables as age, sex, number of teeth affected and type of trauma according to the clinical characteristics were measured. data were shown in pictures and processed using the odd ratio and chi square method resulting in a higher incidence in 10 and 14 year old child group, being the superior central incisor the most affected teeth and the non complicated crown fracture was the more frequent trauma.

Profile Issues in Teachers` Professional Development , 2008,
Abstract: this article describes a research project conducted with two english teachers from the extension program at foreign language department, national university in bogotá. the purpose of the study was to establish the relationship between what english teachers understand on communicative competence and what they actually do in their english classes. the teachers were observed during 4 months, and they were also interviewed. the findings show how hard it is to define what communicative competence is in teachers' own words. data also show how important students are in the english classrooms. english teachers should make careful decisions to help them develop their language competence.

Searches for vector-like quarks and $t\bar{t}$ resonances with the ATLAS detector
Bárbara álvarez González
Physics , 2014,
Abstract: Searches for vector-like quarks and $t\bar{t}$ resonances are performed with the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider using an integrated luminosity of 14.3~fb$^{-1}$ of proton-proton collisions recorded in 2012 at a center-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s} = $ 8~TeV. Several final states have been exploited to carry out these searches such as lepton plus jets and opposite and same-sign dilepton final states. No significant excess of events above the Standard Model expectation is observed, and upper limits at 95$\%$ CL are derived for vector-like quarks of various masses in a two-dimensional plane of branching ratios, and for $t\bar{t}$ resonances in two benchmark models, a topcolor leptophobic $Z'$ and a Kaluza-Klein gluon.
